Hello all, scan is done now. Everything normal, I need to pop in next week to check one last thing as baby refused to look the right way so its lips could be checked. But everything else is fine. I'm very relieved!

I really don't enjoy scans. Seeing the baby is great, but I spend the whole time just wanting to know everything is ok.

banana87 · 11/10/2010 13:01

Hope you are getting on ok Tiger and Loopy.

Great news on your scan Muser.

I have started spotting again after nothing for 4 days :( Its just brown CM but I thought it had gone. Any ideas? Normal? Trying not to freak out too much, I have a busy week and we are moving this weekend so no time for paranoia. Good news is I am still feeling yuck, a good sign I think? Arghhh...I hate this!

banana fingers crossed for you.. great that you still feel yuck iykwim!

Loopsy how are u doing?

Unbuffy · 11/10/2010 17:18

Quick 'hi there' type post. Great news MUSER, and chin up BANANA!

And go on, go on you ladies oop the List!!

Am losing it a bit atm, very little sleep and trying to get stuff done and be supportive to dh who's trying to get all this Important Work Stuff done before D-day - entailing almost no weekends, 14-hour+ days, etc. I do appreciate it because it means he'll have more time off after It arrives. But. I am in the process of major exhausted meltdown... could be an interesting week...

Apologies for mememme type-post, hopefully will get a grip soon and stop bursting into tears (panicking dd considerably!)

AlbaDeTamble · 11/10/2010 18:52

Sorry, have been a little lax posting of late, mainly as I'm having a brief bout of feeling really well, so have been busy making the most of it and doing things, not sitting down with my feet up and laptop on my knee! But have been trying to keep up all the same. Posting from pesky phone so apols for limited namechecking.

All nervous pre-12 week scan ladies, I sympathise hugely with you all, it's such a horrid time. Anxiety AND morning sickness... And then any respite from morning sickness sets anxiety into overdrive. Spotting too makes it even worse. Fingers crossed for lovely scan news for all... The relief is incredible though I remember being far too tired to celebrate!!
Viv hope you can forget about everything and enjoy your holiday.

Sam, Louise and Effi, wishing for easy and not too delayed labours for you all.

Happy I had loads of BHs from very early on with DS, he ended up arriving 2 weeks late. In my limited experience, they're no indication of imminent early labour.

Unbuffy, I hope tomorrow is a better day for you... I'm making the most of an ok time just now as I seem to be following a similar schedule to you... So my last few weeks at work may be tough. Just one suggestion. CBeebies.

Muser lovely to hear good scan news to kick the week off on a happy note Smile

Malteser hope your back is getting better

TFLS hope the feeding's getting better and not getting you down

ok, need to post now, signal will go soon and I'll lose the lot

waves to all

Magic8ballhastheanswers · 11/10/2010 22:23

evenin all, sorry not been around much, kitchen (or lack of) is getting me down, plus was DD2s due date last Friday and I think that got to me a little even though 18 months have gone by.....also I feel bloody mAHooooosive and not feeling much because I have an anterior placenta but is making me para, despite consultant reassuring me it's early still to feel loads and then hearing their heartbeats.......big sigh......I know I should be positive and have been so far with few wobbles! Sorry for moaning just feel very anxious at the mo as 17 weeks tomorrow which was when it all went horribly wrong with DD2. I have a scan first thing and I am with Muser on the not liking them.....I know I wont sleep well tonight.

Any news from the ladies at the top????? Can't scroll back but was louise having an induction tomorrow?

Great news that you are feeling well Alba!

Know exactly where you are coming from Unbuffy, DH is working all hours god gives and we have hardly spoken for a week, he has just gone back to work.......urgent Christmas jobs to do!!

Try not to freak Banana, know it's tough but hang in there.

Good to hear your scan went well Muser.

Big waves to everyone sorry for not name checking you all x

Will post properly later, good luck to those having scans today. 38+6 today, I went into labout at 38+6 with DD1. Does that mean there's no chance as lightening doesn't strike twice, that there is an increased chance as I have gone into labour at this gestation previously or does it make absolutely no difference whatsoever??!

SamanthaB123 · 12/10/2010 09:01

I don't want to get anyone's hopes up (mine mainly) but I am distinctly very uncomfortable today. Had periody pain in the night (or did I dream it???) and have lower tummy and back period pain this morning. I am bouncing away on the ball at the moment in the vain hope that this might be it. I am quite distracted by the discomfort in fact.

Quick hello from me - to people having scans today and to people hopefully going to produce a baby in the coming days

PenguinsMummy · 12/10/2010 11:51

I had my 12 week scan today and there was one wriggly bean with a good strong heartbeat! I was so relieved and sobbed all the way through the scan. As with my other pregnancies, they have brought my dates forward so am now 12+5 and EDD of 21st April.

Now I just have to decide whether I was to go for an ELCS or risk my third 3rd degree tear or possibly a 4th degree one Confused - have to see the consultant again at 20 weeks and at 36 weeks to discuss and decide. Any advice ladies?

Updated list too!

Loop DD1 had episiotomy & large 3rd degree tear; DD2 had 3rd degree tear along same scar tissue but not quite as large. Saw consultant this morning and her advice was up to you. Can't guarantee won't happen again or given have now had 2 3rd degree tears along same tissue, it will obviously be weak so could even be a 4th degree Confused!!!

She said most Drs would probably advise ELCS but that was also an op through stomach muscle (if there's any left Smile and would leave me immobile for 6 weeks after which wouldn't be easy with DD1&2. Seeing consultant again at 20 weeks to discuss further and 36 weeks to decide. Would be booked for ELCS at 39 weeks.

Any thought anyone!?!?!?

clareanna · 12/10/2010 13:56

penguin my consultant said to me (and I paraphrase slightly ) "sore bottom for 3 weeks or sore tummy for 3 weeks?!" In her view recovery from a c section would be similar and many people are up and about eel before 6 weeks. I had a 3rd degree and episiotmony with ds, but c-section is recommended this time due to shoulder dystocia last time. I healed really well and was also concerned about c section recovery, but hearing it was comparable helped me ce to terms with it- good luck whatever you decide though!

Will be back on later for full post and have only one thing to say to those at top of list....
Show me the babies!!!! Good luck to all x

Muser · 12/10/2010 14:00

I don't have any kids so can't contribute much. But, my SIL had an elcs for her second, and she was moving around well before 6 weeks. She was obviously in pain at times and she couldn't lift her eldest. But she wasn't anywhere near immobile.

What kind of help do you have available to you penguinmummy? That would be a huge factor I would have though.

Magic8ballhastheanswers · 12/10/2010 14:28

Any baby news????????????????????????????

Scan all good this morning so I am VERY smiley and much less anxious. I had 4 tiny feet dancing about! Back in 2 weeks for rescan. No sign of TTTS yet which is good news.

PenguinsMummy · 12/10/2010 14:29

Not much! All my family are in Northern Ireland and all DH's are Midlands/North and we live in Bristol. But we do have a lot of very good friends so should be fine Smile
