Loopy I mainly sell vintage haberdashery goods (vintage buttons etc), which I mostly sell to Americans (they all seem waaaaay into their crafting in a way the british aren't), but I'm actually just starting to make hand sewn toddler/adult quilts (I've done this for a while, but rarely for selling). I'll post a link when I've got a few up in my etsy store and maybe someone on here will be feeling flush Grin

It's totally crap, we're just getting everything together for big chats with ACAS/CAB tomorrow morning, and hopefully something will come of it. Who knows, maybe DP will get some massive compensation payout!

Malteser you poor thing, that sounds awful! My step sister had an awful fall when she was heavily pregnant and was convinced something had gone wrong, but baby is now 5 months old and merry Smile

Also got a cold, but trying to stick with my drug-free pregnancy (which is so not my usual style, I'd be ibruprofen-ed up to the eyeballs any other time!) so feeling very sorry for myself. :(

malteser scary, hope you're ok and the back is better soon, take care. And hopefully good luck with the CAB, how crap.

Night all.

Hopefully · 03/10/2010 22:36

Loopy I am now an expert on all things disciplinary related! If anyone gets sacked after returning from maternity leave, come to me, I'm a bloody expert now - I've read the ACAS guide about 12 times [brain melts]. Poor DP's brain has totally melted, which is why I'm getting so involved - he is so incredibly stressed and anxious about it.

Anyway, it's making the time pass more quickly - can't believe I'm 14 weeks already! Which reminds me, I'm sure I'm meant to make a MW appointment soon. I'll add that to the people I've got to phone tomorrow Smile

Hope everyone else is feeling OK, sorry for not name-checking more, been a bit self involved today!!

stuffedmk · 04/10/2010 09:31

malteser1981 Wow, must have been a horrible wait before the scan....so glad everything is ok!

Hopefully We have just had a bit of a mare with DHs work, he was suspended for about a month for something tiny....Luckily in the end it went to someone who thought it was ridiculous and that was that, he was sent back to work. But during that month we did a hell of a lot of reading and consulting with experts! CAB were really helpful! Fingers crossed the appeal goes well for you guys, try not to let yourself get too stressed by it all, easier said than done I know Confused

Unbuffy · 04/10/2010 14:27

BIG hugs to Hopefully, had a similar situation with dh a couple of years ago, ended up (after a long time, depression, stress) being really good for him as he started a completely new career which he loves and is very happy in. But very very tough at the time, I still get nightmares about it. Sending you all the best to get through it x

LITTLE (painless) hugs to Teaser, ouchy ouchy McOuch. Not in any way lesser hugs, just gentler. Am paranoid about our stairs!

WAVES to everyone!

Any NEWS from the Top?

Cold is passing now, but dd and dh have it instead - even worse in some ways! Am ravenously hungry all the time and ALSO suffering from chronic indigestion AND feeling sick quite a lot of the time too... it's all gone a bit weird. Oh, and Buffybean has been doing full rotational somersaults continually for the past 36 hours, just to really wind me up I think!

louisesh · 04/10/2010 14:31

Hi . no news from me at the top!!!! Apart from BH,diarrohea [ nice!!!] and period pains!!!!!

Wonder whats happening with TFLS?

Unbuffy · 04/10/2010 14:35

They do say that, ahem, loose stools can be a sign of impending wotsit, something to do with the body clearing itself out... FX...

liahgen66 · 04/10/2010 17:59

louise

"Apart from BH,diarrohea [ nice!!!] and period pains!!!!!" all signs of early labour :)

Don't quote me however, but can be good signs.

Will be checking for imminemt labour thread.

Hope everyone else is well.

louisesh · 04/10/2010 18:40

Oh, hope so!!!! Thought these were some signs but still seems a long way off or unreal!!!!! FX

Hopefully · 04/10/2010 18:51

I definitely had a, ahem, clearout before going into labour with DS. it did mean I didn't poo during labour [grateful for small mercies] Blush

Gi1da · 04/10/2010 19:52

I love you guys - popped in for a quick check up and its pootastic! Wishing you a real easy time of it Louise. Gosh it must be such an arse waiting!!

Happy thoughts to TFLS too!

Commiserations to those feeling under the weather, hope you all perk up soon, and Malty OUCH! Smile

Slaps own wrist for being so slack. Been having a hideously stressful time at work, but on the final countdown (does anyone else hear bon jovi in their head? Eek!) thanks to having lots of holiday to take so only 7 weeks to go (including this week). Can't come soon enough. Though how I am going to amuse myself for 4 - 5 - 6 weeks pre baby arrival I don't know. Tips welcome! Was feeling rather blue but have now bought first nice thing for mini-one and started ebaying for ickle clothes.

Sending hale, hearty and happy vibes to one and all xx will try and keep up better in future!

clareanna · 04/10/2010 20:42

malts crikey what a scare- hope you are feeling better and are getting plenty of rest.

Lovely news on the other thread- made me feel all happy Grin

louisesh late pg is just soooo glam- I like to think of celebs suffering all the same indignities!!

hopefully sorry to hear things are tough for your dh at the mo and hope it gets sorted soon.

loopy hope you are feeling ok

toomuch not long til mat leave now and then hopefully you'll be away from all those coughs and colds!

gi1da spend mat leave building a support network of mums to be that you can drink copious amounts of coffee and eat cake with !!!

We went to a wedding yesterday- always great fun being the most sober person in the room!

More BH...FX

Hi to everyone else, hope all is well Smile

Meita · 04/10/2010 21:48

Just a quickie to send a massive welcome hug to tigerbear - of course I still remember you! :) Everything crossed that things work out for you this time.

Was really checking for news from TFLS, Louise, or SamB. As TFLS has been quiet, I expect she's busy cuddling her baby by now - hope everything went well. Wishing all the best for Louise and SamB - hopefully you will both have good news for us soon!

Also wonder how Effilump is doing? And sending lots of sticky vibes to everyone who needs them.

Things are definitely looking up in Meita-land. We've worked our way down from 6 bottles/day to currently 3/day, from tomorrow will go down to 2 (that is top-up bottles of expressed milk, given after breastfeeding). Ianto is gaining weight very quickly now, he seems to be catching up after his slow start. Less bottles means less expressing, quicker feeds, more sleep - add to that the reduced worry and I'm positively beaming! Seeing HV tomorrow, hopefully she will then stop wanting to see us (and weigh Ianto) every week. We had our first overnight trip away this weekend (cousin's wedding) which was exhausting, but fun. Ianto is six weeks old today - in fact, will be exactly 6 weeks old in 6 minutes from now Grin.

I will keep checking in when I have the time - can't wait for some news!

waves all round

banana87 · 04/10/2010 22:04

Stepping away from this thread as I am not confident things are ok, and I do not want to bring everyone else down. I have a scan Thursday. Still spotting off and on, heavier if I am too active. Felt really bad yesterday but fine today so convinced its over. I hate hate hate this and I really want a sibling at some point for DD :(

Muser · 04/10/2010 22:47

Fingers crossed for you banana. I hope your fears prove unfounded.

zayja · 05/10/2010 02:06

Oh shit - just lost a nice long name-checking post! grrr Angry

banana hang in there - hope your scan proves worries wrong. It happens often!

meita wonderful that Ianto is better and things are going well.

hopefully would love to see your things on etsy - please do post a link

malteser - so scary! Glad that scan checked out ok. Hope for speedy recovery and not too much extra time off work for you!

louise - looks promising!

Thanks all for reassurance about measuring small. Try not to worry too much but often times fail. Now it's kick counts - got me prodding the poor girl - probably every time she trying to take a little nap!

randomimposter · 05/10/2010 11:41
Unbuffy · 05/10/2010 12:20

not sure it's Jon Bon wot did the final countdown, think it was Europe

But yes, it does feel a bit that way...

Chin up Banana, really hope you do manage to stick around. I know it's not much help, but I was convinced I'd lost it before an 8 week scan (following bleeding) and it's busy being a bruiser now - so there is still hope. fx for you x

Louise GOGOGOGIRL, can't be long now! There's a rooomer going around that oral sex (f on m) helps bring on labour (prostawotsit in semen apparently) but I am convinced that it was started by a man not getting any! Just thought I'd shaaaaare, don't go spitting tea everywhere in hilarity, it's not good for the computer screen...

HI Mieta and Ianto, glad it's getting easier. Breastfeeding is a lot tougher than most people would credit! How's the sleep thing going? I bin muttering about setting up a Postgrads thread but it seems like tempting Fate to do it before D-Day, will have to leave it to one of you or it'll have to wait a few weeks...

And Hi Jolls, keep up with the popping, how's it going my dear?

BOO to everyone else! Did I startle you?! ahahahaha...

louisesh · 05/10/2010 12:34

Still here!!!!! LOL at
your suggestion!!!!If i could "accomadate" my DH in a comfortable position would be willing to try [particularly, after a curry tonight!!!!]

Did offer a "shag" last night in exchange for him "twiddling" my nipples [read on another thread "apparently" this can work] BUT the look of horror on his face was enough to put me off!!!!! Grin

Hi JOLLISTER Smile

Hi ZAYJA hope you re well?

Fingers crossed BANANA its an horrible time we ve all been there and can empathise with you.X

StickThemWithThePointyEnd · 05/10/2010 12:38

lol louise

FX banana

I'm shattered ZZZZZZZZZZZzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

Sarahlou8 · 05/10/2010 12:42

Aww Louisesh just saw that you'd posted and got all excited that it might be news!!

My friend ate a whole pineapple the day before she had her baby, have you tried that? I also had the awful upset tummy before I went into labour, so fingers crossed...

I'm on the raspberry leaf tea here and my goodness they certainly work on Braxton Hicks! I can't move without them going off! Just waiting for the real thing now...
