I actually feel a little guilty as my sister has been trying for ages and I saunter in and get up the duff straight away. I'd only just got used to the fact that we were trying!

Cowboylover, I'm sure your bean is just fine!

jbells · 24/09/2010 19:43

hey vintage, cowboys, i have been the same as u guys well in fact i didnt even cum off the pill first time i got pg, i forgot to take pill on holiday and few wks lata found out and this time only wks afta coming off pill was pregnant again, i feel guilty to as my neighbour has been trying for months, i really dont want to tell her as i know it will upset her that i didnt even try :(

suedehead · 24/09/2010 20:22

hey ladies
yes, obsession continuing here too - every little cramp or twinge. isn't it ridiculous that we stress over not having 'enough' symptoms - i should be glad i'm not throwing up morning, noon and night!

oh, and yes, blubbing at drop of hat - DH came home the other day to find me sobbing on the sofa because i thought i'd offended my best mate at work (i hadn't). x factor's going to be a no-no this weekend!

mummy2be76 · 24/09/2010 20:40

Am due May 8thSmile. Got first midwife appointment this coming Tuesday. First time. Am quite nervous. Hope I'll relax a bit when I hit 12 weeks. Am very, very tired at mo and already burst into tears 3 times at work!

cowboylover · 24/09/2010 22:48

Woo Hoo! Just wasting time online and had to post to prove that I can stay awake beyond 9.30pm sometimes! Maybe because I know I can wake up when ever I want to in the morning x

Night all x

missemmajane · 25/09/2010 14:53

Hi Ladies - Im certainly hoping that blubbing is normal for the beginning of pregnancy - the smallest things make me cry - I went to the bakers to grab some lunch on my way home yesterday and because they didn't have any corned beef I got back to my car and cried like a baby!!! :o

Can't wait for my first scan to finally see and hear the bubba - its really weird, to come to terms with being pregnant is one thing, but as I appear to be very lucky and not having many horrid symptoms except sore boobs - oh and crying!! - it will be nice to actually know it is all ok in there!!

Do still keep doing tests just to make sure..... anyone else doing this constantly???

On a positive though, one of my best friends just told me she is pregnant too and due just before me so it will be nice to go through it with some one and be off on maternity leave together - in the summer too!!!!

Hello Everyone! I have read the whole thread and what a lovely bunch of people- thanks for sharing your ups and downs :)
I discovered I was pregnant on Monday morning after a pretty big weekend! My period was late so I took a pregnancy test on Saturday morning and it was negative so I went out that night for drinks and dancing. I feel pretty guilty now and I really hope it doesn't affect the little tadpole. This is our first pregnancy and my hubby and I are thrilled- it took about 3 months of trying so I'm very grateful we didn't have to wait long. I've had the cramps and slight nausea- touch wood it won't get too bad. I'm also continuing with gym sessions- is that wise? I'm easing off stomach crunches but doing everything else.
First doctors appointment on Tuesday morning and I'm not telling anyone until we've gone past three months as I am bit paranoid. We're also a bit older so I'll need the full gamut of tests, inc Downs, before I feel confident sharing it with everyone.
It's wonderful to see so many of us on this thread :) Lots of activity in August I see! XX

VintageLady · 25/09/2010 18:31

Yes, still doing tests. Feel a little OCD doing it though. You're not alone missemmajane!

Got my stuff through for my first appointment with the midwife this morning. Eeeek! Very nervous. I'll be 10 weeks by then(by my calculations) so will I get a scan at this early stage? The wainting to see if everything is ok is killing me!!

jbells · 25/09/2010 19:20

welcome tessie, congrats :) im sure lil tadpole will be ok afta your drinks lots of people drink and smoke untill they find out, im sure he or she is fine, its good to still work out when your pregnant as long as your body was already used to it, keeps u fit for the birth :o

Vintage- thats good news that youve had your first apt thru, if its at the hosp then u will have your first scan then, i had my first scan with DD at ten weeks, im getting really impatient waiting for my apt to come thru went to the drs over a week ago now and still havnt heard from them grrrr, part of me is still not wanting to fully believe im pregnant till i see the scan if u know wot i mean

VintageLady · 25/09/2010 19:46

Hi Teasie - welcome to this rather fabulous thread!

Thanks Jbells, the appointment is at the hospital so hopefully I will get to see the little one. I know what you mean about needing to see the scan in order to properly believe it's all happening. Very nervous though. I'm sort of over the shock of getting preggo so quickly but now fretting that they'll do a scan and there won't be anything there or something wrong!!

Teasie · 25/09/2010 20:24

Thanks Ladies! Really getting stuck into this site- so much useful info and where else would I be on a Saturday night! Wink Good luck with the tests and scans. BTW, according to the sites due date calendar, the little one is coming 24th May :)

jbells · 25/09/2010 21:47

vintage- know exactly the feeling i am the same this time as i was last time, i remember my being in the waiting roon for my scan last time and thinking wot if i get in there and they put the monitor on me and theres nothing there, i kept thinking they wud think i was making the home pregnancy tests uo seem they dont check at drs lol, i think bcos i dont suffer any real symptons apart from the crying and tiredness that it doesnt really seem real till u have a bump and start feeling the baby move, tessie it does become addictive this site lol, think from the calender i am due may 7th :) just in time to have the summer on mat leave :o my first DD was born april 8, its going to be an expensive month in years to come hehe

BlueWellies · 26/09/2010 11:52

Thanks for the welcome jbells, and the reassurance. 4th test was also +ve and as I've run out now I'm not going to test any more.

I'm already confused by how many names appear in this thread, not sure as I'm new to posting and sporadic on the site at the mo I'm going to be able to keep up! So really good to meet you everyone and fingers crossed we're still keeping posting in May!

How does everyone manage to keep people from guessing you're pg? I'm going away next week with work, and managed last Friday night at a party not to make it obvious I'm not drinking by driving, but won't be able to do that abroad! Don't want anyone to know yet as too early, and not convinced myself anyway.

Also, what happens if you mc? When would you need to go to hospital and when would you just deal with it? Nightmare scenarios going round my head of my boss taking me to hospital not knowing why I'm freaking out!

Glass of wine...glass of wine... I'd really love to be able to have even a tiny glass to chill me out but my OH is so against it - ok for him!

funnylittlekaty · 26/09/2010 14:52

Hi everyone. I've been struggling quite a bit this weekend, tired out, feeling sicky and everyone is getting on my nerves! Am 9 weeks today, was wondering...if I have my booking appt with the midwife at the surgery will she check the hearbeat? My appt isn't til 11 weeks. Or will she book me in for a scan then. I'm just dying to know everything is ok, can't wait til we can all start posting about seeing our little beans giving us a thumbs up at the scan.
PS Tell me about it with the glass if wine Blue Wellies. I smell my husband's wine every night, I've not gone off it at all! Rats x

gpmama · 26/09/2010 15:01

HI everyone

Im about 12 weeks with my first baby so due in April really but figured May is close enough to join you :) My husband and I married in May after 8 years together. I have PCOS so we figured conception may prove hard, however after only one period since the wedding I just woke up one morning and thought 'Im pregnant' and I was. Cant believe it happened so quickly and am so very thrilled. Hubby has the super-sperm complex that others mention too :) Suffered with terrible nausea from weeks 6 to 11 but it seems to have eased this last week. This week I just cry at everything but its quite amusing really :) It seems the weepies are very common. xxxxx PS my doctor insisted on a urine pregancy test that took a week to come back!!! Very frustrating as I had already taken 3 home tests, but have seen my midwife now and everything seems fine. xxx

rubbersoul · 26/09/2010 15:15

Hi everyone,

I found out I'm pregnant a few days ago, am 5 weeks so should be due late may if all goes well! Have been quite nervous as I had a chemical pregnancy last month but is looking good so far, fingers crossed

MsMe · 26/09/2010 15:38

Glad I'm not the only one who's feeling a bit paranoid about lack of symptoms - other than feeling a bit tired I'm not feeling much different from normal, especially now my boobs aren't aching at the moment! Keep reminding myself I should make the most of it though!

bluewellies I wondered how I would get around the not drinking thing with people too - we had friends to stay last night and I was sure they'd notice, but if they did, they didn't mention it. I just stuck to the ginger ale all night. Thankfully it didn't end up being too late a night as I ended up with a cracking headache and had to head off to bed after quietly explaining to MrHim that I can't take paracetamol at the moment...

Speaking of tiredness, think I might need a nap this afternoon as we're going to a gig this evening and I have a feeling I might struggle to stay awake, but I really don't want to miss it - need to take advantage of these opportunities while I still can Smile

jbells · 26/09/2010 16:06

hey all, hope everyone is feeling ok

Funkylilkaty- if u are at the hosp having the scan then u will see heartbeat but if its just a normal apt with midwife they prob wont check heartbeat till about 14 weeks as it can be hit or miss at to whether they will pick it up on the monitor b4 that and they dont like to freak people out if they dont hear it, but def at scan u will hear heartbeat :)

GPmama- look like u will be first to see scan then out of us all and first to give birth prob :) welcome to the thread, u will have to let us know how scan goes

Rubbersoul- welcome to thread, thats horrible that u recently had chemical pregnancy its something ive def been worrying about, fingers crossed for this time :)

msme- enjoy napping while you can when you have one running round and u r pregnant again like i am, there is def no naps anymore lol

i still havnt had a midwife or scan date :( getting impatient now

rubbersoul · 26/09/2010 16:17

Thanks jbells Smile

how many weeks are you? I haven't been to the doctors yet because of work- have you been waiting long for a midwife appointment?

jbells · 26/09/2010 16:52

rubbersoul- btween 7-8 weeks went drs over a week ago and still heard nothing so annoying

VintageLady · 26/09/2010 19:27

Hi jbells - it took just over two weeks for me to hear from the midwife at the hospital. The waiting is awful isn't it?!!

I've been so tired this weekend. Was asleep by 9pm on Saturday (struggled to stay awake during X factor!), needed an afternoon nap today and as I type I'm lying on my bed. Zzzzzz....

jbells · 26/09/2010 19:42

least i know im not the only one whos been waiting ages then vintage you wud think they wud sort it sooner to reassure people early on, i always wonder whether it is just like this on the wirral or everywhere else in country to, wish i was having my baby at portland hospital, they seem to see there patients every week lol

cowboylover · 26/09/2010 20:19

I had my Docs appointment and then the Midwife rang me and I booked the booking in appointment for 2 weeks later which it this Thursday so im hoping that she will give me more of an idea when my scan wil be then.

When I was suffering with bad tummy pains and went to the docs I bumped in to her there and she said unfortuntaly being super overstreached in the department now they dont have enought people or time to reasure people. Didnt know how to take that but I know what she means.

cowboylover · 26/09/2010 20:21

I am in South Wales so sounds like ots the same everywhere unfortunatl Hmm.

BlingLoving · 26/09/2010 20:29

Hi all. I just found out I am 5 1/2 weeks pregnant. After 18 months of trying and 2 months of clomid, we are thrilled but terrified. So far I feel okay, except for some stomach cramps and a stabbing pain which I Am keeping an eye on (different thread has reassured me about both).

Worst thing is that work is horrible - I would like to be leaving there and even possibly with a grievance process. But now I can't, as I need the regular income and maternity benefits etc. It's a bit upsetting but I guess the baby is more important.
