Things I miss being able to do

I'm 35 weeks, HUGE, and fed up of not being able to do the following:

  • sleep on my front
  • turn over in bed without a complex three stage manoeuvre
  • stand up without feeling like I need the loo even though I went 5 minutes ago
  • eat more than three mouthfuls of a meal without feeling full
  • realise I've left something upstairs and run back up two steps at a time
  • get up off the sofa without grunting
  • mess about on the floor with DD

care to add any of yours?

I miss not being able to see my fanjo! Overgrown lady garden is never a good look!!!!!

soozlewoozle · 26/08/2010 19:34

I miss being able to move my arms without my boobs getting in the way!

sotough · 26/08/2010 19:36

Pepsiginn · 26/08/2010 19:43

I'm 38 weeks and bored of being restricted to only a few clothes in my wardrobe!

laurenamium · 26/08/2010 19:53

Not wearing heels (I always refused to wear anything less than 5 inch) and not wearing pretty dresses!

Chelle1986 · 26/08/2010 19:54

36+3

-sleeping on my front
-spooning in bed with DP, bump either gets in the way or kicks daddys back so he can't sleep!
-being able to shave my legs without looking like a contorsionist
-and I miss not caring about the state of the house....now, in the midst of redecorating I hate that everything is dirty ALL the fecking time!!

PaigeTurner · 26/08/2010 20:12

Going out dancing without looking like a heffalump.

ecuse · 26/08/2010 20:15

Seriously, nobody's mentioned wine yet? I'm only 6 weeks and I'm missing it already!

firsttimer78 · 26/08/2010 20:18

Being able to put my shoes/socks on without help.

YellowCecil · 26/08/2010 20:28

Wearing shoes, any shoes that aren't scholl flip flops (in the rain...)
Being able to fit into something other than size 18 trackies and vests
Being able to sleep
Wearing my wedding and engagement ring

anonMum2 · 26/08/2010 20:46

Too many to mention as I'm a completely different person when pregnant. Probably miss food, clothes that fit and a certain other thing that I normally do with DP!

nymphadora · 26/08/2010 20:50

32 weeks. I miss being able to walk, pick things up off the floor and stand for more than 2 mins without pain. Also missing sleep

domesticdiva · 26/08/2010 20:52

I'm 32 weeks with DC2 so heres mine;

--Eat stilton, brie and camembert and drink wine.
--Be able to run to stop 17 month old DS1 from throwing my hairbrush down the loo again
--Wear underwired bras
--Having lovely painted toe nails - can't reach so the DH has to do them and a manicurist he is not!! Grin

Jacksmybaby · 26/08/2010 21:12

33 weeks today.

  • eating without spilling it all down my tummy
  • painting my toenails
  • the missionary position!
gallicgirl · 26/08/2010 21:15

I miss going to gigs and being able to function at work the next day.

I really haven't managed to get into a good routine of going to bed early so I get enough sleep.

ceebs05 · 26/08/2010 21:23

lol excitedmummy2be I was just saying last night how the thing I think I will appreciate most about not being pregnant anymore is being able to deal with the lady garden without risking any further injury (learnt the hard way that trying to trim when you can't really see what you're doing is a bad idea (doh!))

Jacksmybaby · 26/08/2010 21:36

Have also made that mistake ceebs - ouch! Grin

laurenamium · 26/08/2010 21:37

Jacks I thought it was just me making a mess at feeding time! Didnt cotton on it was because there was further to reach!

Dreemagurl · 27/08/2010 04:24

Sleep!! (writing this at 4 in the morning...)

32 weeks and don't feel as if I've had a proper nights sleep for any of them! I miss being able to get in any kind of comfortable position. I hear it only gets worse once they're born (first timer), however my friend said the best nights sleep she got the whole 9 months was the first night after her DS was born!

excitedmummy2be · 27/08/2010 09:20

Ha ha ceebs05!!! I too attacked the lady garden without the benefit of sight! It wasn't a pretty sight! There was blood from cut/s made by my indiscriminate swiping with a razor and DH said my fanjo looked like it had mange! I'm leaving it now! 9 weeks to go... You've got to feel sorry for the midwife that has to try and find a baby in there!!!

Cosmosis · 27/08/2010 09:47

I want to ride my bike. and sleep on my front.

maddogsandenglishmen · 27/08/2010 09:52

Oooh I'm almost 26 weeks, and love this thread!

I miss SO MUCH being able to go for a really hard run to destress.
I miss riding my bike.
I miss lying on my front.
I miss having reasonable sized boobs that didn't make people gasp in amazement, and wearing pretty bras and sleeveless tops.
I miss being able to get a little bit hungry or a little bit tired without feeling like I'm actually going to DIE if I don't eat/lie down THIS MINUTE.
I miss energy.
I miss my brain working!

Pidgin · 27/08/2010 09:56

30 weeks today and yes to most of the above. Also, I would like to be able to attack the hard skin on my feet. After many weeks of no attention I have the feet of a geriatric hobbit, remnants of scarlet nail polish clinging to my horned talons to remind me that I once attended to my feet.
