Things I miss being able to do

I'm 35 weeks, HUGE, and fed up of not being able to do the following:

  • sleep on my front
  • turn over in bed without a complex three stage manoeuvre
  • stand up without feeling like I need the loo even though I went 5 minutes ago
  • eat more than three mouthfuls of a meal without feeling full
  • realise I've left something upstairs and run back up two steps at a time
  • get up off the sofa without grunting
  • mess about on the floor with DD

care to add any of yours?

I miss not feeling sick and I miss cups of tea and spicy food the most...

But after an abortive session in the shower this morning, I would love to be able to see to keep my lady garden tidy! and for it not to be uncomfortable to shave my legs. I am only 28 weeks so dread to think of the state of things down there if I give up completely by the time I am full term!

redbird79 · 27/08/2010 10:40

Ah yes, personal hygiene matters- sometimes I wish I was more flexible so I could reach legs, ladybits and toenails. Bless him, my DH did my toenails for me the other day and also helps me fasten my shoes.
Also missing sleep, curry, cheese, booze and staying up late. Oh, and being able to walk more than five yards without being knackered. Am too only 29 weeks and intrigued to know how it will get worse/better from now on....

I'm 25 weeks (not very big yet) and miss horse-riding, eating Stilton and to a lesser extent lying on my front. That's about it. But on the plus side I don't have to clean the cat litter tray or the oven and I'm still cycling. I don't want to moan too much as it's only a few months of my life and it's a very wanted pregnancy!

sanielle · 27/08/2010 11:57

Cheese, and booze mainly! But I'm american and would be rolling about in peanut butter If I thought I could too (dh and I have bad allergies and asthma in family so I've give it up for now :( )

Gutted I am due just after Christmas really!

Think of all the wine, nuts and cheese platters I will miss!!!

I'm only 17 weeks and miss:

runny eggs
wine!
pate...mm
having more than my 2 allowed small cups of coffee a day
exercise- even though I was a bit lazy before- now I really want to go for a run!
not having indigestion every day

but I can't moan about the size of my belly- it's going to get much worse!

33 weeks. I miss my brain.

This new one they've given me can't do proper thinking any more. Is there anyone I can complain to?

whirleywoo72 · 27/08/2010 18:20

Cher87 · 27/08/2010 20:19

I'm 36 weeks, and i miss....

having normal sized feet and therefore wearing any kind of shoe;
not peeing just a little when I laugh too much;
wearing my engagement ring (that I only got at christmas!);
being ignored in the street by little old ladies!

Excellent thread!! whilst pg with DS1 my lady garden was cared for by DH, i couldn't actually see it after 28 weeks so no idea what he did to it!!!

Bonners · 28/08/2010 09:26

I miss pulling my trousers up and having them stay there.
I miss being able to get things done in the house without having to rest halfway through
I miss being able to go out on long walks in the park next to my house
I miss the missionary position
I miss sleep
I miss the way DP used to look at me when I undressed... now it's more akin to horror!

37+4 weeks.

Cosmosis · 28/08/2010 11:51

lol yes bonners, I have a nice gap between top and trousers with everything I wear Grin

I really really miss my heels, I used to only ever wear heels.

(40+6, so hopefully not to much longer before I can!)

LilRedWG · 28/08/2010 18:26

Ooo, a thread I can let rip on. Right, here goes.

My name is LilRedWG and I am 15 weeks pregnant and missing:

  • walking without crutches.
  • running/playing with DD.
  • eating lovely yummy seafood - went to a seafood restaurant, on the beach, for lunch today, desperately wanted the lobster in chardonnay and cheese sause, topped with prawns and cheese. I had mushroom risotto. Sigh.
  • brie.
  • being able to eating without checking blood sugar levels afterwards.
  • sleep.
  • getting comfortable in bed.

I could go on, gawd knows that I do to poor DH, but I'm only early on and have plenty of time to continue my list. :o
