Help - I think I might be miscarrying............

I'm about 7 wks pregnant and started bleeding this morning. It started off slow and was very brown blood but now it's turning a bit redder. it's still pretty slow, not as heavy as a period but a bit faster than it was.

I haven't passed any clots and have no cramps or pains.

What could be going on? This is DC3 for me and I never had any bleeding at all with the other two.

I found out I was pg this time only 4 weeks after having an Implanon implant removed. I bleed a lot and very erratically on this, so I'm not sure if that could be a factor (clutching at straws)

I'm so scared I'm going to lose it Sad Sad

Hi hon - rest as much as you can. Lay down. If it continues go yo your doctor or call your hospital. They can organise an early scan for you to check things are ok.

I hope it settles down for you xx

I'm so sorry that you are so worried. I miscarried at seven weeks and it became apparent what was happening when I found clots. Don't panic yet - a good friend of mine bled from 8 weeks onward in her third pregnancy (she'd lost two babies so was in a real state) but went on to have a lovely healthy baby.

Are you with anyone? It must be very scary for you and I'm afraid that there is nothing you can really do if it is a MC. Call NHS direct if you want some medical support.

I had implantation bleeding at 5 weeks with more bleeding at 9 weeks. Everything turned out to be fine - am now 35 weeks and currently being kicked in the ribs. Really hoping that you are OK too. Call your GP first thing to get a referral for an early scan at your EPU (Early Pregnancy Unit) at your local hospital. Other women who have posted about this topic on other threads either self-referred to the EPU over the phone, or just turned up. My GP referred me the same day, but if yours starts faffing about and won't deal with this immediately, then calling the EPU yourself, or just turning up might be a good idea. Or you could go for a private scan - I would have though that these can be arranged pretty much immediately. In the meantime rest and don't do anything strenuous. Sending you big hugs. XX

Also had an Implanon implant (although LONG time before getting preggers). My bleeding was bonkers on it and bonkers for a while after I had the damned thing removed. XX

Thanks so much for you rsupport and kind words. I'm going to call my midwife or doctor tomorrow and see if I can get a scan to put my mind at rest either way. i'm clinging onto the fact that I'm not passing clots and hoping that's a good sign, but the blood if definitely redder now Sad

What will be will be I guess.

Don't know if you will get this, if you haven't gone to bed call your GP. get the out of hours number and ring that they should send you to EPU tonight (they did with me when I had a bleed at 7 weeks). They gave me an internal exam and then scheduled a scan for a couple days later. I was told I had an eroded womb everythign was fine otherwise.

Try not to be too scared (easier said than done) lots of luck.

Well I've been to the GP this morning and he's making an appt at the EPU today - he thinks they have clinics on Tuesdays and Thursdays so hopefully I'll get an appt for tomorrow.

Still bleeding, a bit slower now but I just passed a clot Sad No cramps though, so still trying to hope for the best Smile

Hi I have had 3 miscarriages. Lying down will not help, if you lie down the bleeding does slow down but only due to gravity and what you do will not impact on the final outcome. Just didnt want to give you false hope but wish you all the best.

Good luck tomorrow Jojay. I just wanted to chip in and say I had two episodes of bleeding with my ds in the first trimester. the first was at around 8 weeks and was probably implantation bleeding according to the docs, and the 2nd time was a lot heavier and was at around 12 weeks, and turned out to be my placenta bleeding as it was low lying. There are various different reasons for bleeding in pg and I didn't find out how common it was until I experienced it.

It was a horrible few weeks and I was a nervous wreck, but my ds was born healthy and happy, so keep faith until you find out one way or the other tomorrow!

Thanks - I've just read on another site that 50% of women who have early scans due to bleeding go on to have viable pregnancies and don't miscarry - so here's hoping I'm one of them!

I remember reading that somewhere and then posting it on a thread on here when I was in your shoes. Someone came back and corrected me that it is actually a lot more than 50% end up being healthy if the bleeding is painless.

You are not alone! I thought I was around 8 wks last wed when I started spotting brown blood with period pains. I called the hospital and they had me in that day for a scan. It was normal and I saw the heartbeat but was small for the dates- only 5-6 wks. So I went home reassured! However, I'm still bleeding now- red and brown and with clots! Very scared as this doesn't feel right- this didn't happen with my daughter. I called the hospital back today and they said that unless I had a lot of very red blood and clots not to worry- easier said than done!

It's like riding a roller coaster! I just want to know one way or the other ..........:-(

I bled at 8, 11 and 12.5 weeks. Id had no bleeding with previous healthy pg. No-one can know whats going on based on these symptoms alone. Best of luck, hope things are ok. X
