Pregnancy

Help - I think I might be miscarrying............

I'm about 7 wks pregnant and started bleeding this morning. It started off slow and was very brown blood but now it's turning a bit redder. it's still pretty slow, not as heavy as a period but a bit faster than it was.

I haven't passed any clots and have no cramps or pains.

What could be going on? This is DC3 for me and I never had any bleeding at all with the other two.

I found out I was pg this time only 4 weeks after having an Implanon implant removed. I bleed a lot and very erratically on this, so I'm not sure if that could be a factor (clutching at straws)

I'm so scared I'm going to lose it Sad Sad

Thanks for your messages Smile

Sadly I am none the wiser. The scan showed a sac about 6 weeks old and at this stage it's too early to know if it's dead or alive.

So I have to go back in 2 wks to see if it has grown or not.

So the waiting continues.

TBH I'm not that hopeful as if it's only 6 wks old, I must have conceived around the 27th July, and I did a positive test on 30th - obviously too soon to show at that stage.

So I think I conceived earlier and it must have died around the 6 wk mark but I haven't passed it yet. Still bleeding a bit but slower, still no cramps and no clots, so it's still in there.

I'm feeling surprisingly calm about it all, having felt very teary earlier. I'm sure it will come in waves, but right now I feel ok.

I'm almost certain it's all over for this one, but if I have a wonderful surprise in 2 wks time, that will be amazing. But I'm preparing for the worst Sad

im six weeks today (but only due to last mp so i might actually be only 4 week) and that was 13 july bang on 6 week today, so you would be only 4 weeks if you had concieved on 27th right, when you have your scan they dont add any weeks on, so maybe every thing is fine, i had a scan at nearly 6 weeks too and there was nothing couldnt even pick the sack up with normal scan had to have internal, so had to go back 3 week later and there it was a little blob with a heartbeat. good luck :)

Good luck!

Dont worry too much about the clots, I had them at 10 weeks and all turned out to be fine.

My bleed was hormonal (the pregnancy is maintained by hormones until the placenta takes over, and the level tails off at that point. If it coincides with when you would have had a period, sometimes a little period starts as theres not enough hormone to stop it. Or so my midwife said)

Beckie - that's really interesting about them not adding any weeks on to scan dates - so maybe the dates do tally after all. I didn't actually ask, just assumed they dated the pregnancy the same way as everyone else does. Maybe there's still hope after all ( please please.....)

TiredMum - they mentioned an internal scan but said it wouldn't help - the embryo is just too young to be able to tell at the moment.

Thanks so much for all your good wishes and positive stories, I find it such a support Smile I heart Mumsnet!!

Do u know when u concrived roughly? I got a positive test at three weeks, which could be the same for u. That makes u 6.5w, and there can be any number of reasons why the 3 days don't tie up - later to implant, later to ovulate than the average et. It's still possible that all is well. Keep hold of that til youre told otherwise

yep they only add weeks on when you 1st find out like they say your pregnant from your period, beacuse in somecases you can be that far, like i was, but sometimes if you got preg say mid cycle you will be 2 weeks less on your scan, the scan is the actual weeks of the baby. they told my friend she was 12 weeks from lmp scan was actually 10 weeks.
im sure you will go back in 2 weeks and have a healthy 8 week baby in there. :)
good luck jojay. are you still bleeding?

Jojay keeping my fingers crossed all is ok, i had a few early mc (but also have 2 healthy dc following them) and after a few days i did a pg test and it showed negative as hcg levels had ogne back down. Grim i know but it would answer your question if you did one without waiting the 2 weeks. Good luck and really hope you have not. Either way take it easy on yourself Smile

Thanks everyone. Still bleeding but it's slowed right down. No pains or large clots, so I don't think I@ve miscarried yet, and it's still in there. Whether it's alive or not is a different question altogether.

I'm wondering whether to do a pg test, but I'm not sure whether I'd believe the results IYSWIM as I think sometimes you can still show a positive result if you haven't expelled everything yet.

Had a good day yesterday though - we took the boys (Ds1 3.9 and Ds2 1.10) to Thomas Land at Drayton Manor. They were literally squealing with excitement, they loved it so mcuh, so that was a great tonic.

Feeling pragmatic today too - what will be will be. I have 2 gorgeous boys. I've always conceived very easily. Dh is being fab and if this one doesn't work out we both want to try again.

Time to get my head down and get on with life for another two weeks.

Thanks so much for your support Smile

nope, dont do a pg test - I had a D&C (so had definitely miscarried - but got positive test results until 2 weeks later. So no, dont do a test, it wont prove anything at all. best of luck, hope it all works out well x

Definitely don't do a test- it tells you nothing and gets your hopes up. The scan is the only way of knowing apart from your own gut feeling. I've just m/c following a week of bleeding and cramps. They told me to buy a pregnancy test and do it in two weeks to monitor when the m/c is over- didn't like buying it one bit!
All the best for your scan- stay positive. :-)
