Quick poll: if you had Gestational Diabetes, how much did LO weigh?

I had it with ds2, diagnosed at 28 weeks, insulin for rest of pregnancy. He was born by c-section at 38 weeks, weighing 8lb9oz.

I probably had it with ds1 too, although passed the gtt, he was 9lb10oz again at 38 weeks.

I was led to believe that ds2 was going to be a monster baby, huge etc. Was very suprised as he looked so dinky, probably because I was expecting a toddler.

i didnt have it and my dd was 9 lb 10 1/2 oz!!!!!! i need to be cut but i healed in no time i just found out im pregnant again and i hope to not have a c section cos i a big girl and have bad healing normally.

Didn' have it with ds1, had it with dd1 i found out at 28 week'a diet controlled.

She was born at 38 week's induced vaginal delivery she weighed 8lb 6oz.

She had the biggest cheek's ever, they were lovely

Pregnant with dc1 so far haven't got it [touch wood]

Had it with DS1, undiagnosed until 34 weeks...10lb 4oz, c-section at 38 weeks.

Had it again with DS2, tested regularly for GD and tested positive at 35 weeks...7lb 1/2oz, c-section at 38 weeks (although I'm almost sure the dates were wrong and they were 2 weeks out..I think he was born at 36 weeks).

I was not diagnosed last pregnancy but certain signs suggest I had it (like DS's major sugar crash after birth). DS was born naturally at 38+3 and was 6lb1oz. Bear in mind however that I and my mother in law are less than 5 foot tall. At 21 months, DS is only just growing out of 9-12 months clothing.

DS2 was bon via an induced vaginal delivery at 38 weeks and was 7 pounds 8. I was not formally diagnosed with GD in my first pregnancy but in hindsight all the signs were there. DS1 was born via an emergency c-section at 37 weeks and was 8 pounds 12.

DS1 is now nearly 4 and very slight; he still wears shorts that are aged 6-12 months. His little brother is 16 months and he is also on the lighter side and is following the 9th centile or somewhere around there, I forget exactly.

I have type 1 and my little man ended up being 7lb 6 oz at 34+4! But he is still 95th centile for length so I think he is just big all over. He has slimmed down to 75th for weight, so I think some of it was due to the diabetes. If any extra sugar spills over to the baby, it will be converted to fat stores. With type 1 that is unavoidable IMO and difficult too with GD.

Ds2 was 8 15
Vaginal delivery, induced at 39 weeks. I was diagnosed with diabetes about 8 weeks before due date and put on a strict diet to control glucose levels. As a result I lost weight and felt much better for it.
Dd1 was also biggish (8 14), but I was not diagnosed with diabetes then, although I suspect I had it.

Reasuring for me to - just been diagnosed in 3rd prgnancy. DS1 7lb DS2 7lb 8oz. Fearful of large baby.

Induced vaginal birth at 39+5, 13.5 hours from arriving at hospital for ARM to DD born. No epidural but forceps in the end, DD was 7lb 8oz.

My daughter was born at 39 weeks exactly - natural onset labour at 38&3 - she was 7lb2oz, 50%ile weight and height, and has stayed that way. 50% I mean, obviously she hasn't stayed 7lb2!

dd1 was 9lb 2oz at 40 +6 without GD!

6lb 4oz - 39+1 C -section.
Diagnosed at 28 weeks and controlled with diet. I was very strict!

Diagnosed at 28 weeks but controlled by diet. Like MumtoF I was very strict and thankfully could be conntrolled without insulin.

DD born viginally at 40wks, natural onset of labour. 7lb 7oz.

So far 18wks preg with Number 2 and no sign of GD return yet.

Oh yes. My sister had GD with both her pregs. Both boys born viginally the first at 35weeks 7lb5oz and the second induced at 38weeks 9lb1oz.

Mine was undiagnosed. Baby born on due date,(thank God)at 10lb 4. problems with blood sugar afterwards and he had to go on a drip. I'm now pregnant again and really hoping I'll be helped more this time. Appointment with consultant tomorrow. Don't want to go through similar experience, but there is so much conflicting advice out there.

Ds3- diagnosed at 28 weeks, controlled with insulin. Induced at 39 weeks, DS born vaginally weighing 9lb 15and a half oz.

Probably also had GD but undiagnosed with DD who was born vaginally at 39+4 weighing 10lb 2oz.

A good friend of mine is a diabetic anyway and was induced at 37 weeks exactly - her DS weighed 10lb 12oz!!!!

Ds3 - diagnosed at 28weeks, controlled by diet. Born by c-section at 39 weeks and was 7lb 30z. Ds2 was 9lb 5oz and they reckon I might have been undiagnosed, that said both DH and I are tall and DS2 was born at 42 weeks so not totally convinced.

Had it both times, diagnosed at 28 wks first time round due to sugar in urine, was tested automatically second time round. Diet controlled both times.

DS was 7lb 11 induced at term.
DD was 7lb 3 induced at term.

Induced at 40+1 and she's 6lb 7.5 oz.

DD2 diagnosed at 16 weeks. She weighted 8lbs but was only 17 inches long, so quite chubby.

My DN had a baby boy weighing 14lbs

induced at 39+4 ended in em cs, weighed 9lb 8ozs

Had it with DD2 and DD3.

Was diagnosed at 32 weeks with DD2 and she was born by c section at 33+2 weeks and she weighed 4lb 13oz.

DD3 was put on controlled diet at 16 weeks and she was delivered by c section at 33+6 weeks and weighed 5lb 5.5oz

Reason for early births was nothing to do with the diabetes but especially with DD3 put her good size down to the diabetes. My DD1 was 7 lb 15oz born at 40+2 weeks and never had the gestational diabetes with her.

No GD here, but;
