Hi Ladies,
I've been looking at forums getting a feel for one I wanted to join and this is it, so here I am.
Anyone else due Feb? I'm looking for pregnancy buddies as this is my first pregnancy and although excited also very nervous and at times scared too.

Really didn't enjoy my first trimester as I was sick and exhausted so much, but now that I've a turned a corner and entered the 2nd trimester I'm back to feeling more like myself with energy levels and no sickness hooray!

How is eveyone else feeling?

Lou

Hey Lou,

Congrats to you!

I am also due in Feb with my 1st... my first scan's on Tuesday so I can confirm the due date, but my MW said "20th Feb" at my last appointment, which drew me to your thread! Grin

I found first trimester ok, I have to say. No nausea as such, more like constant queasiness (don't know if that's worse, actually).

I'm still waiting for my energy levels to go back up again, though - still feel knackered! Confused

How have your appointments been? Had your scan yet?

boognish · 20/08/2010 22:00

Hi you two. I'm due Feb 14th and it's also my first, plus I don't know many mums, so this is all new to me. But wonderful at the same time.

My 12-week scan was fine. My morning sickness/is has been pretty extreme, but as time moves on I'm sure it'll go - or so they tell me... Then the first thing I'll do is treat myself to some normal food and social life, lots of it.

:o

Congratulations!! Come and join us on the Febuary babies post in ante-natal :) it's a lovely bunch of ladies, a fab place for questions, support or moans and following the road together.

Hope to see you there!

DetectivePotato · 20/08/2010 22:34

I'm due on the 9th Feb with my second baby. I am 15 weeks now. First trimester was awful. Felt sick pretty much all the time and I was exhausted. Sickness has passed but I am getting tired very quickly although I have M.E. and a 2 year old all day.

I got lost with the other thread as there are so many on it!

lgmum2b · 21/08/2010 13:05

HIya,
Yep all okay with my scan which was at 12 weeks exactly. Next appt at 16 weeks.
I'm looking forward to the 20 week appt because both hubby and I want to find out the gender. I think there will be enough surprises along the way.
Haven't bought a thing yet, but am finishing work at Christmas time so I'm hoping that's enough time to get everything sorted.

My energy levels really didn't return to normal until week 13 so hang in there.

Off to to a bit of shopping as my jeans are getting uncomfortable, I'm actually looking forward to the arrival of the bump so I don't just look podgey.

Hi everyone, i'm 15 week's dude 12th feb.

This is my 3rd baby, dont feelsick anymore but still gone off a lot of food's haven't really got much of an appetite really either. Also feel tired all the time.

Just started to feel the little bean move about, it's not everyday or all the time, just every now and then Smile

I'm living in my leggings at the moment, don't need maternity stuff just yet, but i do tend to get a massive belly and a massive child, so i'm sure i will just pop out sometime soon.

Anyone else feeling flutters?

I also can't wait till 20 weeks scan i have 5 week's and 2 day's (not that i'm counting)i just want to know all is ok and then i will start buying stuff.

x

I'm 13 weeks today! I thought I was due on the 20th feb as my LMP was 16th May but the Sonographer moved me to the 26th feb! I must have ovulated late. Ah well it'll come when it comes!

I'm terrified of having a bigger baby than last time. I think they are going to keep an eye on me near the end. My tummy is already rather rounded!

xkatyx · 21/08/2010 13:52

How big was your first baby wanderingshhep?

Wanderingsheep · 21/08/2010 14:03

She was only 8lbs 7.5oz which isn't huge but I'm 5'3 and petite so she had difficulty coming out. I had an extensive episiotomy so I reckon I would have ended up with CS had she been any bigger!

snowmummy · 21/08/2010 14:47

Hi I'm 14 weeks pg with DC3 and I'm due on 17th Feb. This first trimester has been hard for me. No sickness but I've been extremely tired and its the summer hols so I've been trying to keep my other two entertained.

Dotty38 · 21/08/2010 14:55

Hiya, can I join! I'm due on the 16th Feb with 2nd. Still have awful sickness but did with first until week 15 and I am so much more exhausted this time but I reakon that's due to the delightful toddler I have in tow!

Wanderingswheep my 1st was 8lb9 and I'm small too so like you am feeling rather daunted at the prospect of a larger baby! DD 1 did not come out easily by anymeans and I needed intervention.

hoolabombshell · 21/08/2010 14:56

That's funny wanderingsheep my LMP was 16th May as well - wow if mine was due 26th Feb it would be one day short of a birthday present for me!

lgmum2b I know what you mean about wanting a bump - as it's my first I don't know whether to go 'oh sod this' and just let it all hang out, or to enjoy this brief window where I still look fairly normal.

I'm normally a size 16 anyway, so the thought of getting even bigger is a bit daunting - I just hope most of the weight goes to bump!

PS: I have asked to join the antenatal club for Feb '11 but there are hundreds of them on there, so I feel like there's a lot of catching up to do.

xkatyx · 21/08/2010 16:41

I'm the same wandering sheep im 5ft my first was 8lb 10, and my second was 8lb6 (and was 2 weeks early)

Im hoping this one wont be huge but im sure it will be.

Hi snowmummy nice to see someone else on there 3rd, im also trying to keep my 2 entertained whilst feeling exhausted, it's hard work.

Hi ladies. I'm 13+3, so due on 23rd Feb. It's my first baby and I'm in absolute awe of those of you who are coping with this ridiculous level of exhaustion whilst caring for other little ones!!

DetectivePotato · 21/08/2010 21:35

My DS was 10 days early and 8lbs 11oz so I know I am getting extra scans this time. Also had a difficult forceps birth so have to be consultant led. Hasn't put me off having another though!

I have felt flutterings occasionally. I am also living in my leggings as I do have quite a bump already! Hoping its not a sign of ginormous baby!

lgmum2b · 22/08/2010 17:09

Just been to the shops to look for some comfy new work clothes as Im at the stage now having never been into wearing baggy clothes that mine are all starting to be uncomfortable or a little too tight.

Found some some nice tops in Espirit but really struggling to find comfy bottoms.
Went into Seraphine and was really disappointed as nothing in my size and a very limited range in store.

Any suggestions as where to find inexpensive but nice maternity wear?

Lou

I found New Look ok last time but haven't really looked This time yet. I got some bump bands from there last week as my tops keep rising up. It was 3 for a tenner, 1 White, 1 black and 1 grey.

xkatyx · 22/08/2010 19:59

Ebay
Asos
Dorothy perkins
Topshop
New look
peacocks

They all do really nice stuff.

moonminmama · 22/08/2010 20:02

This could be the 'new version' of our antenatal thread ... It was getting very full Smile

lgmum2b · 22/08/2010 22:25

I checked out the antenatal thread but to be honest there were so many users it put me off a bit.
Thanks so much for the suggestions I found some lovely long tops at Espirit today and also long jumper dresses that will look good with leggings.
Will have a look at the others this week.
Was really disappointed with Seraphne, lack of stock and their one size fits all leggings are only good if your 6ft. I'm 5ft4 the over bump waist came up under my armpits and the length of legs was way too long.

Hope you've all had a lovely weekend.
Back to full time work for me as of tomorrow as I've had a little break. Hope I don't feel too shattered!
I've put on about 4.5kgs so far and have to admit whilst I've been eating good things I've also been eating lots of bad things too so now really have to put a stop to all the naughty bisbuits and cakes and chocolate bars as I caught up with a friend today and she knows how normally conscious of how I look I am and she just said be careful about all the indulgences as it is super hard to lose the weight once bubba arrives.
So not being a fitness fanatic (Im the tye that joins a gym and then neever goes) but I've ordered a preganancy DVD off Amazon that has short 10-15 workouts that I'm going to start doing so I dont get too huge.
Sensible eating and a bit of exercise should hopefully see my right:)

LOL Moominmama, we're taking over MN Smile!

Ooh yes, ASOS do some nice stuff. My SIL is pregnant (about 3 weeks to go) and she had a lovely dress on at our wedding which was from ASOS.

pinkgrasshopper · 22/08/2010 22:40

I got some nice organic cotton bits in H&M- all reasonably priced...

Wanderingsheep · 22/08/2010 22:46

I've heard really good things about the H&M maternity range but the one in my area doesn't have one! I asked the woman in the shop and she said that they were getting it back soon. Right, so probably when I'm not pg anymore then? Grr!

xkatyx · 24/08/2010 15:54

Gosh, has anyone else found them self out of breath literally just walking up the stairs?

lgmum2b · 27/08/2010 19:58

xkatyx - yes particularly when rushing around the tube interchanges or wlaking up a flight of stairs. Also I seem to have to slow down.
First week starting a new job and am absolutely shattered.
Thanks goodness it's a long weekend.

How's everyone else been feeling this week?

Lou
