I'm now 33 weeks and I know it's not an exact science but I'm curious to hear as I'm always told that I'll likely be overdue as it's my 1st. But I do wonder as I'm reasonably active and my cycle was less than 28 days. I'm moving house around 36 weeks, so I hope the stress of that doesn't affect anything but also the idea of going to 42 weeks fills me with dread.

Basically, are most 1st babies 40 weeks plus?

40+2
Good luck! We're moving house with dd1 3.5 & dd2 1.2 and that seems bad enough....Smile

My ds was 40+13 days - I was eventually induced Grin, my dd was 4 days early Hmm. Most 1st babies are late in my very limited experience of non scientifically looking at my mummy friends and their babes.

FessaEst · 12/08/2010 15:53

41+2 - the longest 9 days of my life!!

KnitterNotTwitter · 12/08/2010 16:28

I was active (5k race at 38 weeks pregnant), long-ish cycle (31 days) and gave birth at 40+4 although waters went at 40+2... Good luck

MarineIguana · 12/08/2010 16:31

40+4, officially but according to my calculations it was 40 exactly.

Roz14 · 12/08/2010 16:35

EnglandAllenPoe · 12/08/2010 16:55

40 + 5 for firsty...

at the time i had no idea how much people worry about going over 40 weeks....

EnglandAllenPoe · 12/08/2010 17:00

gunther - what happened?

mummysgoingmad · 12/08/2010 17:05

39 + 3 and for every second of those last 3 weeks i was wishing someone would just get him out of me!

GuntherMcKilocodie · 12/08/2010 17:17

England do you mean why did I go so far overdue, or why I am self-pitying? Grin

I refused to be induced and insisted on home birth and luckily Hmm had a sympathetic consultant. Finally went into labour at 42+5, in labour for 52 hours then EMCS.

My memories of those last 3 weeks pregnant are of me sobbing self-pityingly as all my NCT group had their babies, met in the park for picnics with their new babies, whilst I sat, ankles so swollen I couldn't walk answering the 20th text of the day asking if I'd had baby yet!!
Had elcs for DD2-was bliss Grin

carciofi · 12/08/2010 17:22

40 + 6

becaroo · 12/08/2010 17:24

ds1 - 37.5 weeks
ds2 - 41 weeks

Gubbins · 12/08/2010 17:40

Ooh, you beat me, Gunther. Dammit! (although my 42 +6 had to be induced, so if they'd let me carry on like I wanted to I would have held the record.)

Considers third child and much leg crossing...

stealthpony · 12/08/2010 17:43

41+3

I was like a vicious sea cow.

Kniternator · 12/08/2010 17:43
