I eat tomato salad with red onion and balsamic...

I usually despise all three ingredients.

However, I'm also craving wham bars and powdery smokers toothpaste (I am not a smoker, and last atsed it when my mum used to use it when I was about 8)

I'm not sure what this is saying about my future offspring.

saltnvinigarcrips · 28/07/2010 20:23

I think I had my first craving this morning. I woke up at 4:30 and had to get up to get a jolly lolly. Ate it in bed and it was amazing.

mumatron · 28/07/2010 20:52

i'm craving steak...but it needs to be on one of those sizzling plates.

is it too late to get the dc dresses and take them too the pub??

Allegrogirl · 28/07/2010 20:55

Earlier in my pregnancy I craved cheese Doritos and Snickers. I'm usually quite middle class in my food tastes but it was junk all the way until about 20 weeks. Of course my unborn child is now condemned to a lifetime of obesity and diabetes. Hey ho.

Adair · 28/07/2010 20:55

Ha ha, mine is COMPLETELY the opposite.

Have been mostly eating potato waffles, oven chips, onion rings, crisps... Oh and Macdonalds.

nymphadora · 29/07/2010 06:06

Craving until now has been raw gooseberries and was on about 2lb a day. Think I've convinced baby they are now out of season.

Mine is Italian - and awkward. It demands dishes that you can't just throw together or snack on such as spag bol or carbanara - and it has to be home cooked, he cant eat ready meals

Perhaps I am having a mini Gordon or Jamie

coraltoes · 29/07/2010 09:08

Mine seems to love chicken kievs- a totally 80s throwback foetus!

daisystone · 29/07/2010 09:27

Mine wanted Toffee Crumble lollies and McFlurry's in the first trimester - along with boring toast.

Now she wants San Pellegrino mixed with fresh orange juice (posh) and fizzy strawberry laces (chav).

I think she's confused - or experimenting.

Hahaha - v good! Ds1 craved crunchies and caesar salad, but it had to be the asda one (something about the crunch of cheap lettuce and vinegar) so he was clearly not planning to join the chattering classes.

BongoWinslow · 29/07/2010 09:57

Fear I may be gestating a baby cow, as all he wants is for me to drink glass after glass of milk. We (as in DH and I) go through 5 litres a week at present.

I wish baby would choose something more interesting. It's embarrassing when people ask "ooh, do you have any weird cravings?" and you have to say "um, milk. lots of milk". They look so disappointed I might have to start making something up.

LoveMyGirls · 29/07/2010 10:03

With dd1 I craved jelly tots and milk (dd1 still drinks a lot of milk, she's almost 11)

With dd2 I craved crisps and totally went off chocolate (I'm a chocaholic), she's now almost 5 and will eat everything and anything apart from mushrooms.

JosephineClaire · 29/07/2010 10:59

I absolutely NEED a mince pie (and if I was allowed, a glass of mulled wine)

No clue why, and it's bloody annoying trying to track down a jar of mincemeat in the supermarket in July.

But yesterday I found 2 jars in a little corner shop and today.....I bake. Yum

NinthWave · 29/07/2010 11:02

Argh, now I want onion rings and mince pies!

I am currently obsessed with toothpaste/cleaning my teeth. I waslike this with DS1 - I would just stand at the sink and chew my toothbrush

porcamiseria · 29/07/2010 13:26

me too

I am on 3 mozzarella a week!

BextheBambi · 29/07/2010 13:36

Southern Fried Chicken is mine and Banana cake but not bananas :S

PatsyIsPreggers · 29/07/2010 14:20

My baby wants brocolli.

bigredtractor · 29/07/2010 14:45

Cruchie ice-cream bars (as in the chocolate bar) - try them, you'll never go back...

eddy26 · 29/07/2010 14:49

champagne, smoked salmon and angel delight (cant get enough angel delight, butterscotch in particular). if anyone knows any effective subsitutes for champage and smoked salmon i would be grateful. my friend is convinced she is uber posh and has started calling her livinia.

bigredtractor · 29/07/2010 14:53

Crunchie - oops!

sarah1911 · 29/07/2010 15:31

This morning for breakfast I had butterscotch angel delight followed by two pints of chocolate milk . This baby likes milk (and apple juice).

Makes a change from the punnets of raspberries and strawberries I was getting through every day at around 20 weeks - cost a fortune!

First trimester all I wanted was ginger cake and Schloer grape juice.

Alicetheinvisible · 29/07/2010 15:37

Cheese and cucumber sandwiches. Has just come out of nowhere.

Last time and this time it has been ice continually, and 'manly' chocolate bars - Double Deckers, Snickers, Twix, Mars etc

Oh and sweeties, like actual sweeties that i am usually not that bothered about.

No idea what that says about my children

alleykitten · 29/07/2010 16:30

DS1 wanted meat, chips with vinegar and Haribo, but was pretty unfussy and classless in his demands.

DC2 is a bit of a princess though: sushi and aubergine with sweet miso for the 1st trimester, any oriental food (with special emphasis on tofu) now I'm into in 2nd. Not so convenient when you live halfway up a mountain - it got so bad I had to drive 90 mins to Cardiff to eat the biggest Japanese meal ever to shut the cravings up at one point.

3plusbump · 29/07/2010 16:43

Do none of you have heartburn???

Mcdonalds? Southern fried chicken? Onion rings? Chocolate? Red onion?

I swear that just looking at your lists is giving me heartburn!
