what is your favourite girl/boys name?

I always think it is great to hear peoples weird and wonderful choice of names.

I'm due 4 Jan but my consultant said I will probably have to have a section just before Xmas day. (previous Gynae surgery means they think I will have to have section)

Its our first baby so it would be nice to have it here for Christmas.

I know how mumsnetters love a discussion on names so can you help me out please?

I've just found out I'm having a boy and as I have already used my favourite four names on ds1 and ds2 I am struggling!

I really like Finn/Finlay/Finley? I haven't managed to totally convince dp yet but does anyone know anyone with these names? Is Finn potentially a girl's name?

Americans name their kids the most ridiculous, fabricated nonsense in order to be 'unique'. I thought humans had DNA for that.

Popular are surnames as forenames and forenames so ambiguous you don't have a snowball's chance in hell of determining the person's gender.

I try to avoid bringing up the subject of names w/my sister b/c I laughed at her last time she suggested some 'nice' names and she got really miffed . But hey, they were naff!

expat, my sis is like that shes bin suggestin names like alicabelle an leilani for a girl to me!! i dont want my child growin up wit a name that sounds like somethin from star wars!! im hopin she was jokin tho cos i dread to think what shell call her own kids if she wasnt!!!!

All the ones she suggested to me sounded like strippers or porn star names to me. And the boy names sound like rednecks or car models. Yuk.
