patrick - french?
No!

My mum is a Patricia
My brother is a Patrick
and ds middle name is Padraig
Yep we're Celts
Actually it comes from the Latin word Patricius, but as Latin is the basis for so much modern language it has become lost in translation...

piffle · 24/08/2005 21:20

I've not thought of Flowers in the Attic for 20 yrs...
My PIL live in a Bartholomew Street name and I shudder there too!

ahh but Patrick is NOT French by definition, derived from Latin into Celt and Gallic use.
So It is as French as it is Irish or indeed as it could be anywhere that uses it. As with most of our language too

tayamummy · 25/08/2005 09:51

I like what cod has called her boys - Bartholemew, Hugo and Cuthbert. Really sweet.

marialuisa · 25/08/2005 11:58

I have a friend from your neck of the woods Enid-her name is Tessa (her dad's faithful Lab was put down the day before she was born so he named his DD after her). She went to Sherbourne girls and DH says she is typical Ra. Works as an estate agent in south Kensington...

EnidfromtheVILLAGE · 25/08/2005 12:11

Just found out we are having a girl and am thinking about!

Piper
Brooke
Drew

What do you all think???

For a boy it was going to be Blake.

SleepyJess · 26/08/2005 12:02

If I had another baby now (I won't!) and it was a girl, I'd call her Skye The 3 I have are very conventional. Still love their names but I have 'evolved' since they were born.

I like Drew.

paolosgirl · 26/08/2005 14:46

Both of ours have traditional, biblical names which I love, but if I had another girl, it would be Freya - beautiful name.

marthamoo · 26/08/2005 15:30

I like Gabriel and Diggory for a boy (didn't use them for either of mine though - dh vetoed).

And if ds2 had been a girl he would have been Eliza Grace. Still a little sad I won't get to use that.

ei23mummy · 26/08/2005 15:42
