DD (aged 2) used the potty to dirty!

I am so pleased. She has been pretty good at wetting the potty for a few months but has refused to dirty it, preferring to go in her nappy at bedtime or in her knickers.

Just now she felt herself dirtying so went to the potty. I am so pleased I could cry, it's been such a pain dealing with the dirty knickers and clothes over the past week because she's been dirtying constantly when playing outside.

Hooray for progress!

So you're not too prim to say shit but you call a shit a dirty. You're clearly unhinged Grin

And yes a motion. She won't say butty either she's repressed.

GrouchyKiwi · 18/06/2014 20:40

Ten I enjoyed the joke I made for myself by using the word shit.

We grew up using "motions" as well, but DH put his foot down on that one.

The Curse.

I knew it would be The Curse. Or Monthlies.

MoominKoalaAndMiniMoom · 18/06/2014 20:46

Congratulations to you and DD :) great stuff!

I'm not going to judge you for what you call it because I'm not a twat plus I call my bits 'the cave of wonders' so I have no right to say anything Grin

GrouchyKiwi · 18/06/2014 20:47

We celebrate when she dirties the potty. She helps me flush it away. The only thing we do differently is call it dirtying, which is, you know, what everyone I know calls a nappy with "poo" in it.

(She used to go more often but then we had a trip to NZ and full potty-training regression happened so it's been a slow recovery since then, back from nappies to knickers.)

We have a poo song. When I am changing one of my twins on the floor the other comes to inspect the contents of the nappy and they both sing the Poo Song.

GrouchyKiwi · 18/06/2014 20:48

Tippi Monthlies just sounds far too pleasant for what a period is.

Moomin Cave of wonders. Grin

I find the term highly humorous so does that make me a twat?

Crikey you get insulted in the most innocuous threads ey.

My DS also did a brown treat in his potty today. First time ever.

MysweetAudrina · 18/06/2014 21:01

Most people i know would say to a child-do you have a dirty happy? What's the difference?

GrouchyKiwi · 18/06/2014 21:03

Harold Well done to your DS!

MoominKoalaAndMiniMoom · 18/06/2014 21:03

not for finding it funny, harold, it was aimed at those calling OP a 'loon'

HaroldLloyd · 18/06/2014 21:03

I am trying to think of non poo related descriptions but they are few and far between. I think chocolate log would cause more problems for a 2 year old.

HaroldLloyd · 18/06/2014 21:04

I know a couple who say to each other I'm going for wee wee ones and two two poops. Seriously, no kids. They are loons.

GrouchyKiwi · 18/06/2014 21:08

Do they do that, um, ironically? If not, I'm glad to know where my weirdness sits on the crazy scale.

CockD0dger · 18/06/2014 21:09

...so 'dirty' is a noun and a verb as well as an adjective?

I never knew.

VerityWaves · 18/06/2014 21:10

What the .....

HaroldLloyd · 18/06/2014 21:10

It's hard to tell, they are not especially ironic.

I'd say your only a 2/3 out of ten by that marker?

GrouchyKiwi · 18/06/2014 21:10

I don't use it as a noun! It's a verb in this case: "Have you dirtied the potty?" "She (DD hasn't quite sorted pronouns yet) dirtied the potty!"

We have some standards!

GrouchyKiwi · 18/06/2014 21:12

Harold Sounds about fair.
