Had a good week of training with my DD who is 2.2. Got every poo in for a week after the first couple days. Wees still loads of accidents but wasn't bothered as she's just learning the muscle control and it's early days. Got her in training pants/knickers/bare bum at home and pull ups at night and when out.

Seem to have regressed since Tuesday! Now doesn't like going on the toilet (was using a training seat as she doesn't like the potty at all) and two days in a row says she needs a poo, but won't go on the toilet and then goes on the floor and announces 'i did it on the floor!'.

not helped by mother in law constantly texting and saying how's it going how's it going...? argh!

give up/carry on/try a new tactic??

wasn't overly bothered about when we did it but since she nailed it in a week feel like i need to crack on....

help!

Sukie - hope the toy bribery strategy worked out today!

We had another good day... no accidents and all wees on target. However, no poo for two days, so I fear there is going to be an explosion! I'm crossing my fingers that it happens in a night nappy or a nap nappy... two days worth of poo in pants is going to make a hell of a mess... wish me luck!

Yesterday was good - for us anyway - 2 acccidents only - today not so good (just when I was thinking I was winning!) - 3 accidents before 10am and a day of telling me she didnt need to go and then doing so on toilet oh well - one step forward and a few back!

Oh man I have wee envy! I long for the day she wees on command. That will be amazing. We are still to-ing and fro-ing. Got derailed by a case of runny explosive poos due to teething molars, so despite best intentions those ended up down her legs. Oh dear. More on track today. 2 success 2 accidents! Partly my fault as we're moving and I wasn't paying attention but was locating just how many out of date cans of soup I have in the cupboards while clearing the kitchen. Why do I have so much soup that went out of date in 2009???!? We carry on. I expect the move may throw us off for a couple days anyway. She's proved she can do it so goddamn she's gonna do it. We are keeping costcutter in business buying crap treats as rewards. Somehow our 7 stickers = a prize has turned into a prize every freaking time and I am not quite sure how to break this rod I've built for my own back, but I'll sort that out once all the poo and wee is firmly landing in the toilet!

Bloody awful day today - so bad I ended up buying a big bag of chocolate and packet of biscuits! 13 accidents (yep I have not mistyped - 13) - I had a friend and her children for lunch and it was "oh wee-wee mummy" virtually non-stop. Think friend thinks I am mad for persuing but two weeks in feel can't give up now and thinking positively - she likes the knickers and the toilet and is happy to go on it if she makes it so maybe stick with it?!?! Laugh is - tonight she wanted no night time nappy - hmm dont think so even though been dry at night a while! What a day - thoroughly dejected!
SukieQ - good luck with the move (we also have tins that pre-date the babies!) - we are visiting my sister for a few days from sunday so also might be interesting (poor sister and her carpets I say!)

oh no! 13! oh i hope tomorrow is better for you. it's totally a weighing up of whether it's better to "stick with it / not confuse them" versus "take a break / not torture ourselves" on the bad days isn't it? i'm finding she's a bit better when it's just me, rather than on the day my MiL watches her, or at the weekend etc. when it's a different routine. Guess that passes in time though?

Hi all - after two more days of no interest in it all (her not me!) and weeing wherever she fancies we have decided to have a break! Put her into pull ups this morning and told her she could wee in them or on toilet and lo and behold she asked for wee-wee and went on toilet within the hour! However we are sticking to pull-ups (a step on from nappies and still knicker like we decided) and easing up on the training for now - dont feel she is ready really - 17 days with not much improvements! We will give it a month or so and try again still cold turkey as i think switching between the two would be confusing! Still do nappies for baby so what is a little while longer! - good luck though and will pop on thread as eager to see you crack it with yours!
