My daughter is 19 months old & i want to start potty training as she is letting me know when she has been for either a wee or a poo. I have tried before but she doesnt seem to like sitting on either of her two potties and will sit for a minute or two but then get up and go on the floor....what do i do?!?!?!

that's a training issue which can be readily solved. The child is communicating - do it if you want, but don't claim it is a child-led approach.

the fact people use words like 'force', 'abusive' etc on PT threads shows that they have a weird view of what PT younger kids involves.

Wot EdgarAllInPink says.

To ignore a child who is telling you about their wees and poos seems unkind to the child and harder in the long run for the parent

Even if you don't want to dispense with the nappies/training pants/pull-ups, it's no more effort to show them what to do with toiletting then to show them how you eat with a knife and fork/kick a ball/play the kazoo.
