Not heard of it sorry OP. What is it?

FTMJ2020 · 16/01/2021 11:50

It's an online exercise programme aimed at mums. It's expensive, so was wondering if others thought it was worth the price tag.

I suppose it's up to you and if you can afford it. I tend to have a look on YouTube at specific workouts and see if I like them.

Does Mulu offer a free trial?

QueenOfToast · 16/01/2021 12:14

I'm a Pilates teacher and I'd not heard of it before but I've just had a look at their website and it seems quite a good programme focused specifically on post-natal fitness issues. It's a lot to pay up front, but it's not really that expensive if you use it regularly. Appears to be endorsed by the NHS, but not sure what they had to do to get that endorsement. I

Thanks for the responses. Have decided to go for it, now just have to be motivated enough to follow it everyday!

Hope you enjoy it OP Smile

@FTMJ2020 I just started this last week! (I actually signed up when it was half price on Black Friday!). Let me know how you find it Smile

ButwhereisMYcoffee · 18/01/2021 15:47

It is good, julie Baird (on insta as our fit family life) is I think better. Both good though!

FTMJ2020 · 18/01/2021 18:18

@LBB2020 it's going well so far....I find some of the exercises easier than others, but I'm fairly confident I'm doing them ok
. How are you getting on with it?

OP posts:
PolarnOPirate · 18/01/2021 18:27

I have it and keep meaning to do it. I have just re-started so am going to finish it this time! Am sick of weeing with every sneeze. It is a good workout and I have seen improvement already. You're meant to do a 30 min brisk walk every day which I just don't find possible - with kids in tow it's not brisk, and I don't have much inclination to go out on a walk once they're in bed. But the exercises and theory are good. For me it's just a case of actually doing it and being consistent ha.

Also the woman is quite annoying but there is the opportunity to mute her. And the 'mutu mammas' speil is quite irksome too.

I am on week 4 ish, but spread over a couple of months because I do other higher-impact exercise too and it's just too much. I have noticed some improvement and definitely feel the workouts the next day, but I am using a pelvic toner too so hard to tell.

I do pilates for fun and haven't noticed as much as an impact with that so I do think the pelvic floor focus of mutu is good.

Sorry, mixed reviews!

PolarnOPirate · 18/01/2021 18:27

Oh sorry, didn't see your update!

LBB2020 · 18/01/2021 18:48

I’ve only just finished the first week Blush I kept starting then forgetting or not getting chance (toddler and 4 month old!). What week are you on now @FTMJ2020

FTMJ2020 · 18/01/2021 19:55

@PolarnOPirate thanks for your message. Totally agree about the 'spiel', but good to hear that you've noticed some improvement.

@LBB2020 I'm only on the first week, have been consistent so far and going ok but too soon to see if there's any improvement yet.

Maybe we can keep each other motivated @FTMJ2020 I need all the motivation I can get!

shinynewapple2021 · 18/01/2021 20:04

Do you think I it would work for someone who didn't do their pelvic strengthening exercises post child birth and is suffering for it 20 years later ?

FTMJ2020 · 18/01/2021 20:35

@LBB2020 definitely!

@shinynewapple2021 so far the foundation of it is connecting breathing with pelvic floor exercises to help you reconnect to those muscles, which you do daily plus walking, I haven't got to any of the more intense workouts yet... I don't see why it wouldn't be worth a try at any stage generally, maybe someone who's finished it might have an insight!

@LBB2020 how are you getting on with this? I'm into the second week now, going ok while it's only the 12 minute video and the walk everyday but not sure how I'll fit in the longer workouts when I get to them....

OP posts:
LBB2020 · 25/01/2021 12:25

@FTMJ2020 I’m halfway through week 2. Just back from my walk and will do the video later once the children are asleep. I was surprised that the video is exactly the same as week one!

LBB2020 · 07/02/2021 09:58

@FTMJ2020 how are you getting on?
I’m halfway through the third week but have yet to find time for one of the longer workouts, hoping to do one today

FTMJ2020 · 07/02/2021 10:28

@LBB2020 am also on week 3. Have decided to spend 2 weeks on it. Last week I managed the intensive workout twice (was sooo achey after the first time!) This week I've managed to do it on Saturday and Sunday morning and will try to do it once or twice more during the week... Let's see how that goes! I find the 12 minute video easy to fit in every day, but struggle to find time for the other one too...

OP posts:
LBB2020 · 07/02/2021 10:58

@FTMJ2020 well done!
Yes the 12 minutes is easy to find time for, I usually do it in the evening before jumping in the shower (it’s quite nice having the time to breathe and wind down!). I’m going to make a big effort to do it at least twice this week!

FTMJ2020 · 07/02/2021 11:03

Sounds like a great routine! Good luck with the work out today 🙂

LBB2020 · 08/02/2021 21:56

I’ve just finished my first intense workout, I’m going to ache tomorrow!

FTMJ2020 · 08/02/2021 22:15

@LBB2020 hooray! Hope the aching is not too bad tomorrow!

OP posts:
LBB2020 · 08/02/2021 22:29

I hope not too! I didn’t enjoy it much, I thought some of the exercises could have been better explained/demonstrated (the angle of the filming is odd!)
