My baby girl is only 17 days old. She has been diagnosed with reflux. All she does is cry Sad I am living in literally no sleep because when I try to put her down she screams blue murder. We just got infant gaviscon and we were on SMA gold and switched to aptimal then was told to go back which we done but today has been a nightmare. She is in constant pain and I don't know what to do. Anyone any advice on what worked for them and can I use infacol Aswell to help with wind? I'm at my wits end xx

How did she do last night OP? Proper reflux meds make a big difference, much better than gaviscon (I'm pregnant and the meds are amazing!)

So pleased that you had a serious response from the medics and your partner. Good luck.

See the GP and ask for paediatric consultant referral. They can also prescribe ranitidine to neutralise acid, domperidone as a anti sickness med and omeprazole. We found infacol made DD worse, it works by joining air bubbles up into a big one which made her throw up (her reflux is silent) and caused more discomfort. Boots gripe mixture has worked quite well.

Consultant said car seat is ok as long as you watch them and make sure head not tipping forward. Fairly upright bouncy chair also good, and swings are meant to help, although we've not tried that. We actually found raising mattress did not make much difference.

Winding frequently, after every ounce or two of milk seems to help and feeding in an upright position with bottle horizontal so milk flow is constant but slow.

Glad you got ranitidine, remember to get dose changed as she grows. We always have a couple of bad days then I realise it is because she needs more of it.
