Morning.

Good to see you are shopping Tink. How organised?

I am so glum I came home and put my pj's back on.

Must be coming up to my period - just nicely in time for a party sat night [first night out n probably 2 years] and 2 night shifts.

I am lum as hell, so I won't drag you all down. But waved to all.

Had a shoppng accident at GreenBaby. 70% off! Can't say no to their little stripey pants for £3. Maybe that will cheer me up when it lands.

moosemama · 16/07/2010 12:34

Don't be glum on your own Tree, we are here to listen if you need to vent. ((hugs))

There's a sale on at Beaming Baby that includes Frugi and Green Baby if you want to cheer yourself up!

Dd is just growing out of a gorgeous pair of Green Baby stripey pjs that I bought her when I was pregnant and I am so sad, because they don't do that style anymore. Stripey trousers look so cute and like you say you can't really go wrong at that price. I find their stuff lasts for ages and never looks worn out so its well worth the money.

treedelivery · 16/07/2010 12:59

Worky worky Moose. I can't really go into details, but my stress levels are gradually building and impacting on home.

I think I must be hormonal too. I feel pretty desperate and tearful. I am trying not to do that thing we all do, which s loose insight due to hormones. I find they make us feel how we honestly feel. Rather than putting a brave face on and getting on with it all. Ifswim?

Hmmmm Frugi. Their own sale is better though Moose, incase you are tempted. Those fleecy jumpers would be ideal for Ireland

hear you on the saddness at growing out of things. Why must they?

What are the babies wearing today? H is in Ebay preloved Boden pink cord baggies, with little roses print, and green velvet rbbon trim. A new White Company palest pink pale stripe blouse, and a little beige cardi from there too. It's their cotton/cashmere mix, which I always put on her when I feel down or rough. As I have none myself No summery stuff today

Am proud of dd1. She is making big efforts to eat her 5 a day, and is also really interested in counting up her fibre intake. Apparently 10g a day, which she gets nothing near. We have to go up to 2 sachets of movicol a day, which I'm a bit sad about. SHe got her gynastics level 5 too, and is really working hard at everything she does.
Sadly she is coming home to a heap of crap for a mum, so hardly a reward. I asked her if there was anything she wanted as a well done reward. Just for me to play with her

H is now 'saying' more words 'Ha-e-at', 'Ba-ee' for bye and 'He-yooo' and 'Hi-yaaaaa'. Also 'dadeeeeeee'. I'm not keen on hiya or ta so dunno where they came from. Not many thankyou's
SHe could probably do with some next stage toys really, but then look at her carrying around a bit of fluff that gives hours of fun and wonder why

She is very keen on dolly, and laughs her head off when she puts her to bed. She enjoys herself very much, very light hearted.

Oh and she loves her dummy Dd1 had one for bed. H demands hers all the time and wil soon scale the shelves to get it. She calls it na-na.

treedelivery · 16/07/2010 13:01

Excuse my rambling!

120 · 16/07/2010 13:24

they sound so cute tree. you ramble on.

Miss J, tea, Dog and other brownie afficionados.. opinions needed on [http://www.mumsnet.com/Talk/recipes/998068-Nigel-Slater-39-s-Choc-Brownies?msgid=20529988 here]]. Tis tea that started it.

I have awful tummy pains and feel sick everytime I eat. Think DD has it too and H had it last week, though he is teething molars so generally grumpy anyway. Any ideas what it could be or what would help?

Oooo I need you 120! Please suggest a tray that will be utterly perfect for baking brownies in. Ta muchly. Available online if poss, we have a cook shop and TK maz but that's it really. Oh, Debenhams I guess.

I am the only person in the world not tohave made brownies, and I am scuppered by lack of suitable tray!

Try cool peppermint tea for your tummies. Or fennel.

120 · 16/07/2010 14:03

I just use my roasting tray and line it with baking paper. Then decide thickenss I want and fold up the paper at one end to make the tray smaller (I shove the metal potato masher at one end to keep the paper folded up). this sort of thing would be good though if you wanted to buy something . MissJ - do you bake them in the tin direct? Maybe a coated one would work for that, have never done it. Definitely make some. Everyone will love you even more.

Oh Tree its horrible when work impacts on homelife so much. Why can't they get it that you only work so you can afford to live and not the other way around!

Sorry I disappeared, am trying to buy the boys games/toys that will help them with their dyspraxic problems over the holidays, have just bought them these poi. I was going to get cheaper ones, but spoke to a friend who said its false economy as they just drop to bits, also the boys have played with my friend's dc's poi which have long rainbow tails, so I think they would be disappointed with anything less.

I really shouldn't be spending anything as we are so broke its quite frightening, but I really want them to enjoy the holidays without realising they are improving their motor skills, so I have to be crafty.

I am also getting them one of those wooden labryth games that you control with a knob at either end and am getting ds1 an lcd maze game that you have to tip in different directions to roll the ball around the maze and avoid obstacles. I am trying to find a fun reading scheme for ds2 as he has come so far this year I really don't want him to slip back through lack of practise over the holidays.

Your girls are always so beautifully turned out in gorgeous clothes. If I ever win the lottery I am going to employ you as my personal shopper, I am hopeless at putting things all together and I always love everything on the links you post.

Dd is wearing a lovely dark raspberry all in one with a sweetheart neckline and flowers embroidered around the neck and cuffs. I bought it in the MiniMode sale months ago for a couple of squidly and she looks so cute in it. No summer clothes here today either.

I on the other hand am wearing an xxl Bearded Theory tshirt and knee length joggers as they are all I can fit around my cast without rolling a leg up. I will have to shift my lazy but and smarten up in a minute though ready for the school run. I do have an excuse though. My foot is really painful today, couldn't put it to the floor when I went to get out of bed this morning and hasn't really felt any better all day. Don't know what I've done - but I really wish I hadn't done it.

Dd1 sounds like she is doing really well at the moment. Big congratulations to her for getting her gymnastics award.

Dd is also really chatty at the moment - so full on, but then so adorable. She loves her cuddlies at the moment and is rarely seen without a doll or soft toy squidged under her chin. Its hilarious watching her trying to do other things and carry her 'baby' at the same time - there just aren't enough hands to go around! I was all for buying her some next stage toys recently, but actually she is fine, loving her drawing board, her brothers fridge phonics game and books, books, books, books and more books!

We also have a dummy obsessed girlie here, but I am mean and only let her have it for nap times and bed. That said, she has just pinched one off the side and is currently goading me with it!

Its a bit of a problem really with their birthdays being so close to Christmas, it means they don't get a new influx of next stage toys half way through the year and end up outgrowing what they've got.

I bake my brownies in a non-stick tray bake tin - can't remember where I got it from though, as I've had it forever - sorry.

Right, nothing for it - I have to remove this blasted cast to get my jeans on or I'll be late for the boys. Urgh! I hate doing this.

treedelivery · 16/07/2010 14:49

Oh Moose. Poor you and that roboleg. Is it Tue you go back?

I reckon most people think my girls look a bit daft. They are rarely coordinated in the 'nice outft' type way. I rarely get compliments on their clothes, but maybe it's because they aren't mainstream - or at least not worn in a mainstream way. Does that make sense? Probably not.

I really like MiniMode, they do really nice patterns and prints. And their clothes are chldrens clothes, not adults made smaller. She sounds cutey cute with her soft toy sqidged under her chin.

I am in pj's, complete with holes

I might take dd2 to our waterstones nad let her choose a book. We have lots from dd1, but I feel a bt tight for her.

Well done on the poi purchase. I wouldn't have the faintest what to do with them, but I bet the boys love them.

Can't face the evening

moosemama · 16/07/2010 16:55

Yep, Tuesday lunch time - feels forever away at the moment though.

That's the Boden way isn't it though, to have a coordinately uncoordinated look! Every picture of your girls I've ever seen I've thought how beautifully turned out they are, as well as really beautiful little girls.

Look up poi on you tube. There are some truly awesome displays on there. I have just told the boys that I've ordered theirs and they've come home and watched the basic tutorials followed by some fire poi displays. They now both want to do fire pois! Mind you ds1 kept saying "easy, I can do that - that's really easy" etc, etc. Oh, yeah ds1? Time will tell sweetheart!

I'm thinking about buying myself a pair now actually, I reckon they must be great for toning the upper arms and judging by some of the people I've seen they could well do a whole body workout. Some people take it very seriously and treat it with the same discipline as a martial art - I shall just be messing about with mine.

We have far too many books. I tend to buy whole series of them from RedHouse books or
Book People. The boys have literally hundreds of them, but I still keep buying more. Ds1 is a total bookworm and dd is heade the same way, but I just can't seem to get ds2 to be interested in them - he almost never just picks up a book for pleasure. He loves colouring and drawing and other creative stuff, but appears to be completely reading averse despite making huge strides at school this year.

Both boys brought their reports home this afternoon. Ds1's was ... er .... surprising, no mention of his problems, glossed over his dyspraxic difficulties in sport and handwriting and came across as a child who had had a really good year. We get the chance to write a comment to be filed with it and I shall be making sure I write something about him having achieved all this despite having a lot of difficulties to overcome and being bullied. He is currently working 2 subsections above the national average, so I guess they think as long as he's not behind he must be coping. .

Ds2 had a lovely report all about what a lovely boy he is, how well mannered, helpful and well liked with a big group of friends (couldn't be more different than his brother really). He has worked so hard this year and moved up from below the national average to working at the top of the national average section. The Head master's comment was lovely too and not only does it make me proud of ds2, it sets my mind at rest that they know we don't have any of the same issues with him that we have with his older brother, so hopefully they will realise that I'm not a neurotic mother and am genuinely concerned with good reason.

What are you dreading about this evening? Is it the whole bedtime and repeated thing with H? I wish I could help somehow, you must be so tired of it all, let alone physically exhausted. ((more hugs))

tinktellyaddict · 16/07/2010 17:50

next sale tom ladies

chefswife · 16/07/2010 18:03

Tree LO's sound so cute. DD is also saying Hiya, which I don't mind so much here, as no one uses that phrase here, but she totally got it from the Waybaloos. Don't know if you get that show there, but it is a cute show that has yoga in it.

Moose The thing with you spending money is that you are doing it from a place genuine love and hence, by the law of the universe, that will come back to you.

DD didn't go down last till 9pm, not so shocking as she had a long, late afternoon nap, so I was anticipating it. I was not anticipating her waking at 2 and staying awake till 5! She's all good this morning. DH got up with her 8 and I got to sleep till 9.30! Ya!

treedelivery · 16/07/2010 18:27

Oh yes, we have Waybaloos. Big styleee. It's made by childrens BBC. The music makes me well up

I have a temp. Is this why I am going insane?

Was dreading them all being here, and me not enjoying it, not feeling able to cook a lovely meal or play.
DH took them to the seafront, and they had a look at some boats and fish and chips. Am just trying to settle H. SHe is standing in cot shouting at me. DD1 is so ready for the oldays bless her.

Go for it Moose, but I bet they are one of those thngs that looks easy but you actually get knocked out before gaining any skills

moosemama · 16/07/2010 18:28

I'm seriously loving your justification of my shopping there Chef.

Dd loves Waybuloo, she loves running round saying 'there's YuJoJo' and 'DeLai'. Still loves Come Outside best though. I love the way she copies Auntie Mabel and says "Oh Pippin!" whilst shaking her head in a disapproving manner, just like Auntie Mabel does at the end of the programme. She's dog mad my girl - takes after her Mother.

Tink - I have been given a preferential Next sale slot this evening - talking of which, that's where I should be now!

treedelivery · 16/07/2010 19:49

May I swear?

Bloody bollocks my ear again. Bit of a temp too. I thought I had that inward shuddery feeling. SOre skin and sensitive eyes. Oh arse. I have a party tomorrow! A proper grown up party, with my husband and everything!

Very cute Moose

moosemama · 16/07/2010 20:27

You go ahead and swear Tree. Then make sure you have got enough of every possible medication in the house to get you through tomorrow night.

AND rest - lots, to help your body fight it off.

You shall go to the ball!

I just spent £80 we haven't got at Next. To be fair, only £20.00 of it on myself (4 tshirts at £5.00 each in the sale) the rest was a spotty hat for dd (in the sale) and the boys uniforms for next year, which weren't in the sale. Have had to put it all on my account though - gulp!

I also just sat here while everyone else had chips from the chippy and I had a salad pitta.

Sorry 120 I hope it was ok to mention how fab I thought your brownies were

Oh Tree you poor thing, try and rest when you can, lovely of your H to take DD to sea front and give them a tasty treat for tea. Hope little H has settled for you now ((hug))

Oh I didn't know there was a Next sale, may have to pop into Watford Harlequin tomorrow now. Thanks Tink, I love their clothes for kids.

chefswife · 16/07/2010 21:25

Bookmarking my afternoon read.

moosemama · 16/07/2010 22:14

Dog, could it be a water infection causing the dragging - didn't you say you had white cells in your sample the other day? Great that your dcs had good school reports as well. We are a brainy bunch on this list aren't we!

Cross posted with you earlier Tree and missed one of your posts. Yes, I am bound to give myself concussion trying to learn the poi, but still, it might be fun to try and it if helps get rid of my bingo wings it'll be well worth it.

If its any consolation (which it probably isn't) I thought we were starting to get somewhere with dd's bedtimes, but dh has been up with her for over an hour now and I keep hearing her yelling.

Tea, my CAT messages both arrived together today. Have mailed you back.

Am most annoyed this evening because my lovely new White Stuff jeans are falling off me and look awful. Am pleased about the weight loss, but not that the jeans that really flattered me just a week ago, now look all saggy and really quite unflattering.

treedelivery · 16/07/2010 23:17

Hope you feel better soon DOG, take some paracetamol and drink like a fish. Maybe bubba is swinging to cephalic and pulling all your uterus. OUch!

Moose, if they rid the world of bingo wings there will be a stampede. You are right, those performance type people always have ripped bodies now I come to think of it.
Glad you got the uniform sorted, another tick for yu to do list.

Hello Chef and all.

H has been asleep since 8! DH and I had a pizza [oh dear there goes the 2kg I lost] and watched a Battlestar Gallactica thing, a preview. Remmeber 'jump'? Or was that the nappies thread?? I had no idea what was going on but I love a bt of sci-fi and it was nice to have some company. He also bought me a lttle bunch of roses. Bless. I am lucky to have him. I also took a mooch around Mumsnet, which was funny and disturbing in turns

Have taken some paracetamol and am heading to bed. But I feel a lttle less crazy

DD1 has a birthday party tomorrow, and then dh and I have a big party [a school mums wedding anniversary] and then a lunch on SUnday. That is a surprise for one of DH's friends, its a big birthday for him. DD1 will love it, as she loves his kids. They are 11 and 7 and she hero worships them.

So in all I am hoping for a lifting of the cloud.

chefswife · 17/07/2010 01:59

Sounds like you had a nice evening Tree. Have fun at parties.
Moose Bedtimes seem to be making a turn for the better over here since starting a new napping regime. Now to get her to eat a little faster.

Two more sleeps (if you call it that) till I go to Vancouver. So looking forward to it.

chefswife · 17/07/2010 05:16

Every time I pop in to MN, I see Boris Johnson's mug on the home page.

120 · 17/07/2010 07:37

morning all. Quick one as my mum's in the kitchen feeding the DC.

Meant to say I'm very impressed with the weight loss. I'm doing my best but not extreme so will take a bit longer. As long as it's moving in the right direction, that's fine by me.

Tea, am delighted you mentioned the brownies!

Tummy aches are still hideous here, though H has got through it now, and DD and DP are on hte mend, so I know I've only got a day or so of it left.

Chef, you can save talk 'threads I'm on' as your favourite page, then you never need link through to the home page.
