I'm so sorry jabber Sad I was thinking the other day about your friends who died in the plane crash and their 3 girls (did I remember right?) and the poor woman in the news at the moment who had to choose between her children.
Weirdbird must have had her baby, haven't seen her lately on FB?
Indith, would comment on photos of ds too but they won't download are they huge? Brave indith, letting them out in the garden with paint! Are you coming down before the toads go btw? So much fun, we're at 27/40, dp says I'm getting obsessed as I carry toad map everywhere just in case! Grin I actually think having a nice big gap is no bad thing, I do feel that ds2 in particular has suffered from all 4 being so close together and my mental health of course! My friend with the 9 year gap seems to be having a lovely time of it!
castles, are you back from denmark already? Have been meaning to ask how is fainting lately? Still a problem?
I did kind of miss ds1 as he went off to school yesterday, it lasted minutes but I thought of you Smile
I'm only back at work after school hols, I returned months ago! No idea why I am moving office again, I'm fed up of it though. I know I"m v.lucky to have quiet office with no=one screaming MUMMY all day.

EasilyConfusedIndith · 08/09/2010 21:41

Toads?

Wow! they are fantastic! When are they up until? I'll certainly be down in October at some point but not before I don't think.

Paint in the garden is great, less cleaning up to do!

Thing with the age gap is that I've not worked at all, I'm not going back to work after maternity leave etc so I'm just waiting until children are older and I can start a career, something other than mummy. I don't regret the children at all, I adore them and I want a bigger family but I feel as though when I do start something I want o be able to focus on that, to say that I've had my time out before starting and now I can go for it and not think further down the line that I want to take time out again. I'm well aware that that is just me, different things work for differnt people and who knows what may come. I like things to be organised and have my little plan all split up into stages. It had some pretty drastic alterations when ds decided he wanted to exist and it seems to be taking shape again so the control freak in me wants a time scale please dh! Grin

We must take the dcs toad hunting in October then!
Hmm, carefully laid plans and children. Shall have to give that some thought I know what you mean, felt the same way before got pg with dts now plans all shot to hell although I do have a job it's not what I want. I want to be...a librarian!

EasilyConfusedIndith · 08/09/2010 21:49

Ace :)

I'm guessing though that getting the qualifications would be a bit much right now! Though perhaps possible when all dcs are in school? SureStart are doing this life plan type course near us which is supposed to be a self esteem building, sort out your ambitions and how to get them thing. A friend has booked onto it, sounds good!

OP posts:
accessorizequeen · 08/09/2010 22:02

there are hippos in Leeds and sheep in Skipton too! I think I may have got a bit overexcited, I have a boring life. Surestart thing sounds good, can you go? I know what I'd like to do, but don't see how I can do the degree and then find a decent job round here that will fit in with 4 dcs at school. The job I have is probably better paid than anything I could get with a qualification. And it's reasonably interesting.

Congrats btw on your cake, I don't think I've ever made one! where is pic of ds scarecrow, ds2 wants to see it. He has named something after dd lately, can't remember what it is but cute.

accessorizequeen · 08/09/2010 22:03

after your dd I mean, indith. Did I mention ds2 wants to be a hairdresser, he came downstairs on sunday with his hair blown into princess Di bouffant style. I have high hopes for him.

EasilyConfusedIndith · 08/09/2010 22:05

You are just a giant animal fact ifinding guru Grin

Scarecrow pics are not yet on the website, silly me forgot to take a picture. I have one on my phone of dd sitting on Thomas though after he came back in so I shall send it and E will have to make do with that until they go up. Very cute that he is thinking about them, a friend has a baby named E so for ds there is "baby E" and "E with the glasses" :)

OP posts:
accessorizequeen · 08/09/2010 22:08

I am I think dp is about to take the toad map off me tho, I went a bit mental at west park trying to find one.
E has new glasses, will send photo for ds Smile

EasilyConfusedIndith · 08/09/2010 22:09

Oh bless him, I'm sure he will make a very good hairdresser.

EasilyConfusedIndith · 08/09/2010 22:12

I've been looking at the toad photos online, they are very cool. Can't find anything on the leeds hippos though although dh informed me that there used to be real live hippos in leeds, or at least the swamp that there used to be many, many years ago before leeds existed.

OP posts:
accessorizequeen · 08/09/2010 22:19

He certainly has enough hair for one Grin
I think dh right about the hippos, they were here anyway I think the sheep are around until December as well. Apparently there's a Bet Lynch one. I bet jabber must be wondering what on earth the english lot are on about (except I'm australian).
I really must go to bed now!

EasilyConfusedIndith · 08/09/2010 22:24

Ah ok it was a variety of hippo related art. Bed is a good idea.

lol at your future hairdresser, AQ! and yes, I am very curious about this fascination with toads.

You have also remembered correctly about the plane crash. What a phenonemonal memory you have! I see one of the girls at the office occasionally. She is severely autistic and is being cared for by the grandparents. I don't know how they do it, even with a caregiver it is a full-time job :(

Dh's dr's appt went fairly well yesterday I think. We got new sleeping pills, an appt for a sleep study and they are sending a heart monitor for a 24 hour evaluation of his heart rate. His pulse goes down to as low as 45 far too often. He also has an appt with a counselor to rule out depression. Fingers crossed that something good comes out of all of this.

accessorizequeen · 09/09/2010 12:01

It stood out to me at the time, jabber I think 3 girls losing both their parents. What a tragedy.
hope the appt for dh comes good and you get somewhere too. Toads are here btw!
Indith, what about starting a business (slings/cloth nappies?) which could fit around having another dc (or several)? This popped into my head as I was nodding off to sleep last night...

jabberwocky · 09/09/2010 15:45

can't get the link to work

EasilyConfusedIndith · 09/09/2010 17:06

If you google "Hull toads" then you get lots of images Jabber. Have you had anything like them in the States? There have been lots of giant animals in various cities over the past few years, each one is generally designed by a different artist or community. There were cows, sheep, chickens, pigs etc all over the place. THere were some in Moscow when I was there. The toads are because of Larkin's Toads

Olihan · 09/09/2010 18:21

We have Rhinos here - dcs school did one, it is Mexican themed. Haven't got into finding them to quite the extent AQ has though Grin.

accessorizequeen · 09/09/2010 22:30

Rhinos sound fab oli. I may have got a mite carried away, I seem to be obsessed with minutiae at present! Btw I need ur address to send back rug, I found it under some stuff the other day.
Proud mummy today, ds2 rode all the way to school and back on his bike. He spent all summer training in the garden for it Grin

EasilyConfusedIndith · 10/09/2010 13:29

I like the sound of Rhinos.

AQ that is great! Clever ds2.

Want ot get ds a bike for his birthday so he can practice for when he starts school!

jabberwocky · 10/09/2010 13:46

Oh, how cool!

Yes, iirc it kicked off over here some years ago with the Chicago cows.

MNTotoro · 11/09/2010 11:17

I remember seeing cows in Las Vegas :)

accessorizequeen · 11/09/2010 13:52

I think it all started in Australia, myself.

jabberwocky · 11/09/2010 16:43

lol, AQ

castlesintheair · 13/09/2010 14:51

Can't keep up with all this animal talk!

We are a teeny tiny thread now, does anyone fancy making more of the FB group? I keep forgetting to look on MN.

Lenni · 13/09/2010 21:50

Yes, I do Castles, I also forget to check here.

If you come to Skipton, let me know. That is where we get our fish and chips from.
