jabberwocky · 14/09/2010 00:40

I know, we should probably do that. I miss eli :(

EasilyConfusedIndith · 15/09/2010 08:30

:( we are all drifting off. If we move to FB I'll have to actually remember to look there!

Spain was wonderful, dcs survived and so did dh. Came home to a filthy house though. Men. Pah!

Peppa Pig on TV so I suppose I had better do something useful.

accessorizequeen · 15/09/2010 20:02

Well, where is Eli then? Castles, can you not tell her to come and see us on here or FB? Indith, so glad you had a good time in spain, next time get MIL to look after house & dcs!
Having massive panic attacks today, could hardly breathe earlier and all the kids clustered around me looking upset. Don't know what's set it off but I want it to stop!!!!! Have stopped enjoying life, it's just one dragging day after the other and I can't seem to escape. Last time I was like this I had a major breakdown, had to take a month off work (ds1 was only a baby).

MNTotoro · 15/09/2010 20:09

I'd be happy with fb. I only come on MN for this thread really.

I miss Eli too...

Castles - we talked about a meet up on fb - you still up for that?

AQ - dont panic. See your GP and take it one step at a time.

accessorizequeen · 15/09/2010 20:57

we should revive fb then, although I don't think Eli on FB anyway is she?
thanks torturo, already on ADs and don't want to increase them but maybe some anti-anxiety drugs will help get me through. I was thinking of some online CBT, have tried it before but can't see anyone now as no time!

jabberwocky · 16/09/2010 02:59

AQ, my dr added xanax a few months ago and it really helps. I sleep better and am much calmer and less stressed with the kids. I take my normal AD's in the am then 1/2 xanax in the evening. Way better than a martini Wink and no calories!

accessorizequeen · 16/09/2010 10:14

thanks jabber, I think I am going to have to get something. My right hand is shaking a lot of the time pretty badly and I developed a stammer last night which has never happened.

EasilyConfusedIndith · 16/09/2010 12:59

Take care of yourself AQ and get to the GP asap

Rats it is raining

HAve I mentioned that my nephew and his wife had their twins? They are SO cute. Two little girls, 5 pounds each. They look identical at this point. Evidently there is some test you can run on the placenta to tell for sure.

EasilyConfusedIndith · 19/09/2010 16:11

How lovely :)

AQ my mum is being operated on in October and will be laid up for a bit (something ongoing wrong with her tendons, if she doesn't get it sorted now she may not be able to walk in a few years Shock) so I was going to visit at some point. What would you think to a bit of a toddle round the fair early on evening for the boys? Bit of a treat, ride on the tea cups, that sort of thing. Lots of brandy snaps for me of course. There is something about Hull Fair brandy snap and it tastes so much better in all its stodgy, sugary glory when combined with the somewhat "special" smells and sounds of the fair.

The scarecrow photos are up! The dc's Thomas and the Fat controller can be found here

It is my birthday on the 22nd. Dh came home from rowing this morning and said "I've agreed to cox on Wed is that ok?" Yes dear, I'm sure you can make it up to me Wink "oh cock it" Men. Humph. Grin

OP posts:
Lenni · 21/09/2010 10:22

Just loading pics now Indith... should be able to look tomorrow... blinking slow internet... ah yes, wow! That was some effort.

As for birthday - grrr. I agree, men. Hmm

Jabber - lovely news, good weights too. Do you know if they are identical yet?

Off for a week in London working for DH. Am quivering with fear over leaving the DCs and not looking forward to the 16 hour days. I am far too fat and lazy for that kind of work nowadays Grin oh well, at least there might be wine.

jabberwocky · 21/09/2010 21:13

The pics are really cute, Indith. Now, you will have to humor my American-ness and explain what exactly this was all for sometime when you have a moment to spare.

Lenni, I bet it will actually be a fun change in a way. I mean, you will prove to yourself that you can still pull the long days when you have to - and can certainly be rewarded afterwards with good food and wine. And then the kids will seem oh-so-lovely to come home to :)

Am currently on 4th day of what I am now assuming is some type of flu. We have not had a well day in the house since ds2 came down with whatever this is back on 8/29. He finally recovered, then ds1 got it and now I have it. Ds1 still not totally recovered, has missed 5 days of school so far Shock

On the good side, the home inspection went well and the buyer should be signing the contract today Grin Crossing fingers and toes for closing to stay on schedule!

EasilyConfusedIndith · 22/09/2010 11:07

Yay for house Jabber and hope you are all better soon!

Scarecrows are just a bit of fun really. It is quite a traditional thing in some villages to have scarecrow competitions where households make a scarecrow along a theme and display it outside their house. It is something that is undergoing a bit of a revival. It is lovely as on the day everybody is just out and about walking round the whole village to see them all.

You are allowed to call us odd Grin

Our back road is being resurfaced, grat free entertainment for the dcs. They are both sitting out on the decking watching the diggers and tractors :)

Dh had better have something up his sleeve for tonight or I am in danger of getting mightily pissed off (and then feeling horrible for being so selfish). he paid a little bit towards my Madrid trip as my birthday present which is fine but I have not even had a card. Not too bad I suppose except that he spent £30 yesterday online to deliver flowers to his mum for her birthday on Friday. This after he wouldn't even buy bloody grass seed at the weekend so we can tidy up the garden because he "doesn't have any spare money" We don't have any spare money it is true, so why the hell is his mother an exception to the rule?

OP posts:
jabberwocky · 22/09/2010 14:18

I will not call you odd Wink Actually it is really a really nice and - may I say quaint?- tradition.

My dh can be really variable for birthdays. Some years he totally knocks my socks off and others...not so much. OTOH, it does bode well for what your ds will do for you on your birthday when he is grown!

Indith · 23/09/2010 18:25

Ho hum.

My new village toddler group started today. We had 6 people come, it was a big quiet but I attempted to chat to everyone and all the children seemed to be happy so hopefully they will come back and a few others will come, don't want to have spent £500 of village ahll money for it to not get enough people to be viable!

Our sunny weather has gone away. We had a lovely day then at 4pm when we were out buying milk it rained hard and we and everyone walking home from school got drenched to the skin. I've been in tracksuit bottoms, pj top and hoody since we got home, lovely and snuggly and the fire has been lit :)

jabberwocky · 24/09/2010 09:36

So how did the birthday wind up? Or are you doing a night out this weekend?

Can't imagine a fire yet. We're still quite warm over here. It does sound nice in that home, hearth kind of way, though.

accessorizequeen · 24/09/2010 22:45

There you are, this group is getting smaller and smaller (sob). Indith, I do hope dh did do something lovely in the end? Well done for organising toddler group, sure it will be fab as news spreads.
jabber, hope the house sale goes through ok fingers crossed (and that it helps with finances) and you all STOP getting ill. Our house is often like that, I'm sure we're due for another round as I only got over my sinuses a week ago. Life just goes whizzing past.
lenni, is the week over yet, are you enjoying yourself or missing them too much?
just been to a movie with a friend, feeling a little better and at least the hand shaking less. Work's been great too, I got asked to do an interesting project creating online tutorials which I would really enjoy. Felt like brain in gear a bit which was nice.
ds2 being a ghastly little whingebag all week, phaps illness on its way. Only way I can stop it is asking for a volunteer to do some kind of chore. But I think ds3 cottoning on and wants to be my volunteer now. DS2 & 3 fighting each other for the post every day now, I never get to read it!

jabberwocky · 25/09/2010 01:21

I know, we are small now :( I just saw on FB that there's a new baby in the group.

AQ, I have a tremor in my hands too. I've had it for years but it definitely gets worse when I'm stressed.

MNTotoro · 25/09/2010 11:43

I'm still around. Not on MN too much now kids are getting older and I needs less support I guess. Plus I seem to spend my whole life ferry them from home to school to club to home.

I saw the new baby on fb too :)

Lenni · 28/09/2010 10:16

Back home. So much to catch up on that I'll have to come back and read but wanted to wave.

Smile
Indith · 28/09/2010 12:52

Hi Lenni!

So is it cold and rainy na misty and horrible everywhere then or just here? So cold and damp :(

Dd is brewing something, again. She still doesn't sleep all night you know. After each bout of teeth or cold or something we slowly settle back down to waking a couple of times for a brief pat on the back then she starts on the next thing. No idea what this one is, probably more teeth as her bottom is bright red again poor girl, I'm still trying to get rid of an ulcer that developed during the last batch of teeth. Think I'm going to have to take her back to the nurse as it doesn't look to be getting any better.

Where is my Tesco man? He is coming with chocolate biscuits, I want him now!

jabberwocky · 29/09/2010 14:48

Poor dd, Indith. Some kids really have it rough with teeth.

I hope you enjoyed yourself, lenni. We want to hear all about it!

Lenni · 01/10/2010 12:22

I'm lurking all week, worn out. Just went for a massage though. Now that's something that doesn't happen v often. How's DD indith?

Jabber, I would tell all but there isn't too much to tell. Was v v hard work but good fun too. I cried more than once from missing the kids. Grass is always greener isn't it.

jabberwocky · 01/10/2010 13:17

Gotta love a good massage!

MNTotoro · 01/10/2010 18:54

Hello All

DD1 had to have 2 fillings yesterday :( She wasnt bothered at all though and didnt even flinch Shock

DD2 bing a stoppy monster and actually slapped me around the face the other day when I was putting her on the naughty step. {shock] Shock
