Very sweet Totoro Smile

Right, have shredded like mad (level 2 is killing me but soooooooooo effective if anyone fancies it) and am off to Denmark tomorrow, hopefully not to resemble a blubbery purple whale Grin

accessorizequeen · 02/09/2010 20:33

Castles, congrats on the shredding, my god it sounds hard. When you do you find the time/energy? I am going to slump on the sofa this evening (again) eating choc. Guess that's why I'm overweight, huh. I'm sure you'll look fab in denmark and you could come back and tell us about family probs if you want to, I find it hard to understand why people would treat you like that I really do. Sad
Torturo she looks gorgeous in them. I didn't realise how used I was to ds2's glasses until he broke them 2 weeks ago. Will post photo of him in his new ones, he looks quite the little man (thanks for you compliment too, indith - I said something about York Maze yesterday and he was 'indith, indith, indith', must have remembered hanging onto you for several hours!).
jabber, was that photo on fb of near where you live or where the wedding was? Lovely either way!

Lenni · 02/09/2010 21:05

We had such a lovely time at that maze AQ, T is desperate to go back. We should do it next year too, was such a great place.

Toturo, she looks so cute. They are such a great style as well.

What is shredding? Will google. Sounds like what I need for this posh wedding that I still don't have a dress for. Argh.

jabberwocky · 03/09/2010 02:02

AQ, the rainbow pic was taken in Aspen, Colorado where the wedding was. It is a really beautiful area. Prohibitively expensive, but beautiful :)

MNTotoro · 03/09/2010 12:00

Thanks all Grin

MNTotoro · 03/09/2010 12:00

Thanks all Grin

EasilyConfusedIndith · 03/09/2010 12:18

The Maze was great fun. I love days like that.

Shredding sounds scary.

OP posts:
Olihan · 04/09/2010 01:29

Castles, is it 30 Day Shred - if it is it's from the America's Biggest Loser exercise woman. I have it but it's still in the cellophane wrapper in the cupboard. Likewise the hand weights are still in the box in the garage Blush. I have good intentions but no willpower.......

Just finished another cake, hence the silly hour posting.

Jabber, great news on the house, will keep sending 'straightforward process' vibes until it's signed, sealed and handed over.

Tortoro, Dd2 looks very sweet.

Lenni, when are you child free? I'll meet you in Trafford/Arndale if you can manage a Tues or Fri and we can dress shop

jabberwocky · 04/09/2010 16:57

oli, a woman after my own heart :) In my twenties, I actually did exercise. Now, I'm relying on starvation, stress and running after kids to lose weight!

Ds2 diagnosed with strep throat on Thursday. I thought it was just his typical mystery fever as he kept denying any sore throat or ears. The doctor said his tonsils were so swollen they were almost touching each other Shock So I've been up every 3 hours for the last several nights alternating ibuprofen and tylenol.

Lenni · 04/09/2010 20:10

Yay, Oli, would love to do either or both. Can do a zoo trip anytime too, maybe soon to make use of the nice weather we seem to magically be having.

Willpower? Not something I keep in this house.

Olihan · 04/09/2010 21:02

L, will FB/text you.

No willpower here either, plenty of biscuits but definitely no willpower.

EasilyConfusedIndith · 05/09/2010 09:39

Jabber I'm still in my 20s and am also relying on general childcare to kepe the weight down. Trouble is I supplement mine with cake and it doesn't seem to be doing much to the muffin top Hmm. Perhaps I had better dig out those dvds I got in a fit of maddness!

The scarecrow won 3rd prize in the village show and I came 2nd with a victoria sponge :) Pictures not up on the website yet but they should be here soon should anyone wish to see ds and his creation :)

OP posts:
jabberwocky · 05/09/2010 10:18

But Indith, I was single and childless in my twenties so big difference on available time!

Speaking of time, having been up all night with ds2 every night this week I am now posting on MN at 4 in the morning Shock

Lenni · 06/09/2010 15:15

Hope you've managed some better nights Jabber. What is waking him?

Oli - my phone not back from being repaired yet, 3.5 weeks has taken so far, am starting to lose patience! Will hopefully arrive in next day or so, but def fb me.

jabberwocky · 06/09/2010 16:24

He has a tendency to spike really high fevers when he is sick so we have to be quite careful to give him tylenol or ibuprofen every 3 hours until the episode has passed. It was up to 103 when dh took him to the dr. I know you guys don't use fahrenheit so that number may not mean much but it is high enough to cause a febrile seizure.

He is much better today, fever was down enough yesterday that I let him sleep by himself last night and consequently I feel much better as well :)

accessorizequeen · 07/09/2010 13:25

sorry out of touch. Sinus problems still, gave in this morning and got some ABs. It's horrible isn't it Indith? How's yours?
hope ds all better now jabber and getting some sleep!
The day out at York Maze seems a long time ago, wish we could do it again.
ds1 back to school today THANK GOD! Had the most horrible time yesterday as realised he had no shoes and ds3 needed some too so had to brave Clarks with all 4 the day before school started erggghhhhh. Cue meltdowns from ds1 & ds3, dd started crying because of it too. I felt completely frazzled and have spent £90 on shoes this week as ds2 needed some too. Have never been so disorganised, was ironing on labels last night!

jabberwocky · 07/09/2010 13:40

AQ, that sounds exhausting. Honestly I don't know how you keep up with all 4 of them. Isn't it weird to think that 3 1/2 years ago you only had one?

Saw one of my bffs from high school last night :) We had not seen each other in 27 years! It was really fun!

EasilyConfusedIndith · 07/09/2010 15:33

Urgh AQ hope the ABs fix it soon. Show shopping sound slike a nightmare, bad enough with 2! Sinuses are fine now thanks, it worked its way around my face and eventually left.

Jabber must have been great to catch up :)

Ds back at nursery today so dd and I have been swimmng and chilling. Got my Euros Grin

Feeling all a bit :( and odd about the number 3 or not question. I know I cna't rush dh I just feel a bit in limbo especially since it will be a big a factor in when I apply to go back to uni etc. Sure I;ll forget a bout it soon, just that a very lovely local MNer who I met via the Dec 08 thread has just said she is pg again and our boys are the same age, girls the same age and bought a house at the same time.

OP posts:
accessorizequeen · 07/09/2010 23:03

little dance for indith's euros Grin
It is hard to make decisions if you know another baby might be in the offing, I felt like that for several years. As a friend of mine (who's had final & no.3 at 43 3 months ago) wisely said, you can do uni etc anytime but limited time to have children. Surprised tho that you would consider no.3 without no.2 sleeping yet! Grin
Course now no babies in offing for me, don't know what to do with myself. But back to work tomorrow nonetheless. Must go iron something reasonable although I'm going to spend half my day packing up boxes to move office again Angry 2 months after I last did it. grrr.

btw, jabber, did you go/are you going to your cousin's funeral? Sad

jabberwocky · 08/09/2010 00:14

Yes, I did make it to the funeral. It was devastingly sad. The youngest child is only 16 and has now lost both parents.

Her mother is understandably a complete wreck after losing both daughters in just over a year's time.

I did reconnect with another cousin that I had lost touch with. So one good thing in the midst of something so tragic.

Indith, I'm a bit surprised that you are considering number 3. I guess I might have done it if I had started earlier. As it is I was lucky to get dh to agree to a second!

EasilyConfusedIndith · 08/09/2010 13:07

So sad Jabber, sucha lot to happen to one family. I'm so sorry.

Number 2 sort of sleeps now. I don't want number 3 right now, I just want to know a time scale really. 4 always used ot be my magic number but I feel very happy at the thought of 3, the thought of sticking at 2 is not nice at all. Anyway, sure it will all work out at some point :)

Why are you moving office AQ? Aybe you just need to put castors on your desk and wheel everything around to save on packing Grin

Spent £250 in Toys R Us today for the new toddler group and have drawn up a list form a catalogue for another £250!

OP posts:
castlesintheair · 08/09/2010 13:17

That is very sad Jabber. Hope you are ok.

I can't believe you are thinking about no.3 Indith, says deranged mother of 3. Although you are very young iirc and I would have had a mini football team if I had started when you did Grin.

Good luck with return to work AQ. Rather you than me: I'm rather enjoying being a lady of too much leisure according to DH It doesn't help that I still can't decide "what to do when I grow up". How do you go from equities analyst with an English Degree to something that fits around having 3 kids (and pays well - DH again) Confused

EasilyConfusedIndith · 08/09/2010 13:31

The ultimate question isn't it Castles. Having it all my arse.

OP posts:
jabberwocky · 08/09/2010 13:33

I have two siblings, Indith. They are 2 1/2 years apart and then there's a 10 year gap between them and me Shock But it worked out okay, we're all very close. Not to say you should follow my family's extreme example but just saying they don't have to all be close in age. You might enjoy a break and then have slightly older ones to help out with the baby.
