Not that particular drug but I was put on hormone therapy for a few months when I was having an almost constant period. Things evened out fairly quickly.

MNTotoro · 20/08/2010 17:04

Thanks Jabber. I'm a day in, and a bit paranoid about the effects hormones can have on me....

jabberwocky · 21/08/2010 00:36

Yay! dress came in and fits

accessorizequeen · 21/08/2010 19:45

Yay, jabber, have a fab time :)
Torturo, hope things improve quickly, yes I would be nervous of hormones too (mine are pretty raging at all times!).

MNTotoro · 22/08/2010 13:39

So far, so good. Although I might be a bit more irritable than normal Angry at kids.

Have posted lots of recent pics on facebook if anyone fancies a nose..

accessorizequeen · 23/08/2010 12:51

Well, I'm a bit more irritable and I'm not on new drug so don't worry torturo! Did I comment on fb pics, did have a look, lovely, looked like you had a fab hol recently Grin So wish we were going away I am fed up of being at home (goes to clean up dts mess for 4th time today, peas all over the dining room sigh).

MNTotoro · 23/08/2010 13:26

Thanks AQ

I can see the end of the school hols in site so am looking forward to house being a bit tidier :)

EasilyConfusedIndith · 23/08/2010 13:46

yay for the dress Jabber :)

No experience of drugs, sorry.

I love the new pictures on FB. Ended up looking through all of the Dec 06 ones, it is amazing how muchb they have all changed! I had to do a double take at one of ds and AQ's ds2 when they were smaller as at first I thought it was dd, I had never realised that they looked so similar.

Ds has not had an accident since Friday, maybe, just maybe we are finally getting it! How do I manage overnight though? His nappy is usually very full and he often leaks out of it so I thinkwe must be a long way off but not sure how to ever get there!

Both dcs asleep at the moment Grin We have had a busy few days and ds seems to be shattered. He slept until almost 9 this morning and still spent most of the morning complaining about being tired. I don't know what to do with dd at all. She does sleep much better ut I am completely lost with what time she needs to go to bed, how much she should nap etc to try to get things right. If she naps then she can seem tired at bedtime but take 2 hours to go to sleep. If she doesn't nap then she spends the afternoon being very grumpy but goes to sleep properly. Suppose I should grit my teeth and push bedtime back and see how it goes. Except of course ds is usally ready to crash by 6.30 and I don't exactly want him regularly sleeping late in the morning as if we ever want to go anywhere we need to get the bus at 8am. Argh!

Maybe I need to wait a bit. 3 weddings in 4 days starting Thursday, that is bound to buggar up sleep!

castlesintheair · 23/08/2010 19:32

Had quick look at photos on FB - they are all lovely. Need to update mine. One day.

Just started 2nd week of our holiday. I know it annoys everyone (especially AQ Wink) but am dreading return to school on 6th September Grin

How did you get on with the wedding outfit Lenni? And I see you are also off to a wedding Jabber. I love weddings (as long as it's not my own!). We are going to one in Denmark in 2 weekends. Can't wait. Also, can't decide what to wear!!

Totoro, hope you are ok? I've completely given up with my nightmare periods and am waiting for the menopause to cure them Hmm

castlesintheair · 23/08/2010 19:33

Oops, how did I miss that Indith: 3 weddings in 4 days - sound's fab, have fun Smile

EasilyConfusedIndith · 23/08/2010 20:22

I'll swap my weddings for one in Denmark Castles Grin

3 weddings ion 4 days would probably be far more fun without dcs who may well not be coping too well with the late nights by the 3rd one (which is actually the most important one that they be well slept for since ds is a page boy). Plus I have 1 dress that is suitable. Actually I pretty mcuh just have 1 dress full stop. It is the one I bought for MIL's wedding so if I wear it for BIL's wedding it will be much of the same crowd and it has long sleeves since her wedding was in March so I will also most likely be sporting a glowing brow and sweat patches. Am going to see a friend tomorrow who may have a couple of dresses that will fit me so keeping everything crossed!

OP posts:
accessorizequeen · 23/08/2010 20:55

ooh, I'm not going anywhere and you're all going to nice weddings (pouts).
castles, thought the dress u linked to when lenni was dress-hunting was fab? Weren't you wearing that? I'm not annoyed (of course not!) by your enjoyment of your dcs over summer hols, just mystified and jealous quite frankly. I could have strangled all of the boys today quite easily (dd being adorable dancing queen so she is excused for today). DS1 went to soccer camp for 5 hours and still hyperactive bunny, talks at top of his voice, always interrups, never listens, demands constantly, hits ds2 for being annoying etc etc etc. Course I am full of cold and sinusitus so prob. not best week to judge, but still, DREAD the holidays. And wish I didn't Sad but glad you do castles Grin
indith, hope you find a dress at least so you don't have to wash yours every night! And I cross my fingers & toes so they sleep for you. Wish my dd had lovely curls like yours btw instead of mad tufty hair!

MNTotoro · 23/08/2010 20:59

Castles - I am fine.

Was a bit irritable when I started the tablets but I only take them days 19-25. So far so good, and I have now had 10 bleeding-free days which is the longest 'break' in 6 months. I'm still having hot flushes though - one every 1-2 days now :( I'm having my blood taken on Wednesday.

jabberwocky · 24/08/2010 00:42

AQ, similar here. The boys are being particularly loud and fighty with each other lately. I now have xanax instead of wine which makes dh happier and helps me stay on my diet (4 1/2 pounds so far!)

I am just wondering atm when my life is going to get back to just normally annoying and not completely overwhelming. My beautiful cousin died very suddenly from complications of bowel surgery. Funeral was today and I just feel numb. Her sister passed away 16 months ago and we somehow weren't notified so I had just found that out about a month ago. I feel like I'm processing both losses almost simultaneously now and my mind is not accepting it as reality.

Sorry to be a downer, guys. I did look at some of the pics on FB and am amazed at all of the big beautiful kids we made! Will post some of the dcs soon.

castlesintheair · 24/08/2010 11:47

That's awful Jabber, so sorry for your loss Sad. Look after yourself. And you too, Totoro - do they know what it is or just the aftermath of having kids??

AQ, will probably wear the primark dress to wedding if I don't look like sack of lard in it, having not done my Shred for 10 days now and generally been eating loads of 'holiday' food! Sorry for fickleness of my dilemma, Jabber.

I sympathise re your DCs driving you mad AQ. Boys are such high maintenance especially when they are young. I also have a theory that the cleverer they are the worse they are (although I won't go into that now!). DS is nearly 9 and still a pita, albeit an adorable one, compared to the girls but I still prefer the holidays, probably because I am a lazy arse who hates routine and endless picking ups and dropping offs, not to mention the whole scary playground thing Grin

jabberwocky · 24/08/2010 13:30

Maybe we'll meet you in Denmark, castles Wink Dh's grandfather was a Dane.

Cross fingers that we sell our rental property soon and life could get a little easier.

Olihan · 24/08/2010 15:41

Oh Jabber, life is being very unfair to you recently, so sorry to hear about both your cousins Sad. Will the wedding weekend give you a bit of respite from day to day life? Hope so.

Castles, I'm enjoying the freedom from school routines but not so keen on the endless fighting and trying to keep them sufficiently occupied that they don't destroy the whole house. I'm ready for school to go back now tbh, 8 days to go......

AQ, am with you on the mess - I just seem to follow them around wiping up and picking things up. If I leave it then the whole house looks like it's been hit by a cyclone by lunchtime, tis very tedious.

Indith, 3 weddings in 4 days is madness, at least you won't have a chance for the hangover to kick in - you can drink nothing but champagne for the duration!

Totoro, hope the drugs work,

Fab FB pics from everyone, btw. I love nosing at other people's pics. Must do mine but can't get to grips with uploading from camera to MacBook. I think it will have to wait until I persuade DH to replace the charger on my ordinary laptop.

Lenni, are you shoppping at Trafford Centre? Was there last week (3 days in Manc with DH sans DCs - bliss) but too close to end of month to do any serious shopping, boo.

EasilyConfusedIndith · 24/08/2010 20:59

Jabber I'm so sorry :(

Expect I'll end up driving Oli! Shall have to put my foot down on Saturday though and drink, tis a MNer wedding and Spiggy and I shall be propping up the bar together. Ds is getting very excited about being a page boy "When it's going ot be uncle Dale's wedding I'm going ot be all smart in my shirt with my er...with my err...with my something tangled round it (tie anyone?) just like daddy in his shirt with his something tangled round it too!"

Hope he rids himself of snot first though. Apparently when you child sleeps in until almost 9am, spends all morning complaining of being tired and then has a nap they are not doing you a favour, they are brewing the cold to end all colds and will give it to their sibling and their mother too. Think my head is going to explode from sinus pressure. We must have watched beebies and dvds for about 99.9% of today. The other 0.1% we went to the park which caused more tears, tantrums and arguments than being at home so I gave up.

Dh has a work night out tomorrow so I have the car, yippee! Need ot get my arse in gear and go buy supplies for making our scarecrow for the village show and head over to another village which has better charity shops than town to see if I can find another dress for the weddings. It has hit me that having no tumble drier means washing dress on Sat night and wearing it again on Sunday is not going to work! Dh had better not get his suit mucky He is best man in the last of the 3 weddings!

OP posts:
accessorizequeen · 24/08/2010 21:08

jabber, Sad Do hope you will be able to enjoy seeing your brother and niece, presumably don't see them often? Take it easy.
indith, hope you find dress not that the pressure's on or anything! How has cold moved from your neck of woods to mine ds3 & I in same boat and I think dd has just come down with it. She was weakly saying calpol as I said goodnight to her. I'm still sending BOTH of them to nursery tomorrow as I think I will explode if I spend another day with all of them. Younger 3 at nursery, ds1 at soccer, few hours of peace/chores/whatever. My hands shaking today with stress of all the crying/demands etc. Oli, is extension all in working order now or still trying to put curtains up etc?
Castles, I lurve routine, that would explain it all then! Impressed with shredding at all, I went to look at the DVD and backed away from the Mac in fear.

jabberwocky · 25/08/2010 14:12

Thank you all. It's really good to have this thread in times like this.

AQ, yes, it will be good to see them. One of my nephews will be there as well and I only see that part of the family about once a year now. So definitely plan on throwing back a couple of glasses of champagne!

I went to the physical therapist and that was a good visit so I'm hoping it may be some small sign that I'm entering a more positive phase.

One small request: Could you all take a moment when you read this and say out loud "Someone needs to buy jabber;s New York house" maybe that will happen and things will get a lot better a lot faster Grin

MNTotoro · 25/08/2010 20:23

Jabber :(

I have made a house wish for you :)

jabberwocky · 26/08/2010 00:39

Thank you :)

Lenni · 29/08/2010 20:14

Me too Jabber.

Sorry, I've still not got my iphone back and am entirely out of the habit of using the computer to MN. Hopefully it'll arrive back soon.

I am reading though. Hope you found a dress for the wedding Indith.

I wish I had been to the Trafford Centre Oli, still not made it out dress shopping with DH. Am beginning to give up hope of ever finding anything!

accessorizequeen · 30/08/2010 10:11

I wished for you jabber. Hope wedding was wonderful always lovely to see family if you like them!

jabberwocky · 30/08/2010 13:59

lol, AQ, you do have a point. It was very nice to see my brother and nephew. Niece had a few bridezilla moments so I mainly tried to stay out of the way as far as she was concerned Grin

Nice to be back home.

Indith, does your wedding round start this weekend?
