I seem to have come home with 2 of them. Elliot must have let go of the buggy at some point Grin

Lenni you are not fat! Think your dh needs to prod mine. He is the best man at his brother's wedding so I will be abandoned but I just have to wear something I already own which narrows it down to 1 dress.

Ah, yes, that was meant to be a much smaller list! I'll try again in a minute. Yes please link Castles, that would be very handy.

We had a lovely day, DD is already asking when she can go back. She really warmed to the boys after initially going very shy, no surprises there. I think she is going to be girlier than I imagined, she seemed quite out of place with so many boys. Although her pre-school class has only 1 boy so perhaps that doesn't help.

I wear too much black too, have tried to branch out into brown and purple. So far I kind of like it but I do end up feeling a bit mumsy.

Haha Oli and Indith - I think the bathroom scales would tell me otherwise! My rhematologist regularly tells me I am fat, in the nicest possible way. Bless him.

Yes, will send prods to your DH Indith, this wedding is in a posh castle and I doubt there will be many there (except me of course) who don't have rich mummies and daddies and £40k+ salaries at 30. They are what DH terms the 'Hollyoaks set', posh Cheshire folk. I really couldn't be dreading it more which hopefully means it will be fab. Hmm

castlesintheair · 12/08/2010 20:18

this is the dress Lenni It might not be suitable for your Hollyoaks wedding (DH calls them 'shiny' people Grin) although I'm wearing it to a pretty smart affair in Denmark, but it might give you an idea as I was rambling on before ... What happened to the Boden dress btw? I remember you asking about one before and I linked - was that for something else?

Yes, as I was only saying to DS yesterday when he didn't want to go to someone's house: the more you don't want to do something, the more likely it is you will really enjoy it. And he did!

Lenni · 12/08/2010 20:21

I ordered it Castles, but when it came my boobs didn't fit in the bit above the empire line Blush so I had to return it. Grin

Lenni · 12/08/2010 20:24

Wow, I love it. However I think you must have less lumpy bits than me since I don't think I could pull that off. Not nearly enough pattern/embellishment to distract from the tyres! I never knew New Look were online... oh dear, this is not going to be good for my bank account, I love their shoes.

accessorizequeen · 12/08/2010 20:49

Um, castles you must have a pretty flat tum to look good in that. wow!
Can I third the 'you are not fat' brigade lenni? Grin List of coast dresses. Think you would look fab in something peacock green/blue. What are your good features ie do you want to go short or sleeveless or long & clingy? Are we talking cocktail dress posh? As you may guess, I think it's all down to the accessories anyway (which I have masses of of course but never wear anymore as I have 3.6 minutes to get dressed & madeup most mornings) Grin oooh, i love an outfit hunt. The stuff that stood out to me at Ascot was shift dresses+ matching coats in gorgeous fabrics or 50s prom dresses with cute bags. Anyway, as you were...
Nice to have ds2 attached to someone else but me for a few hours, indith Grin I'm sure dd would get used to more boys if we met up more often, ds1 combined with oli's ds's were a noisy bunch I think though! I had ds1 all day today just us which was bliss and my god he never stopped talking ONCE. Argh. Wish we could ALL do it in huge hotel for a weekend, that would be wonderful wouldn't it?
Tried to stitch photos together using iphone app last night lenni but it didn't work, I think my photos were pretty rubbish as they didn't overlap, did yours & we could try with those?
must go back to xmas shopping, clearly vital in August.

Lenni · 12/08/2010 21:01

Will put my photo on facebook when get a chance, it isn't that great but they are all on there. Yours are closer up, mine is a bit of a distant one!

Hmm, good features, err.. what I really want is a dress that'll make me look about 10 years younger, like I haven't had two children and distract from my wobbly tum. Perhaps I need spanx instead?!! It is black tie. Oh gawd help me. They'll eat me, I dread to think who I'll be seated with for the meal.

Sooo what exactly is a shift dress?

Lenni · 12/08/2010 21:26

OK, dresses I like (have to link individually as my filtered list resets itself when I link making the looooooong list again)

this one might be stretching the 'within reason' part a little

this one is a bit short but I like it

this is on the list but perhaps only because I've watched too much Tinkerbell lately

and this is my favourite at the moment

castlesintheair · 12/08/2010 22:53

They're all gorgeous Lenni. Have you tried them on? I am extremely lumpy and my belly has never been flat and certainly ain't going to be now after 7 pg, but that new look dress just skims all the bad bits and emphasises the good (not sure quite what those are).

I really like your 'favourite' dress and the white one but recommend trying them on or something similar anyway. God, I love shopping Grin

Yes also highly recommend Spanx or similar esp the ones that are shorts and come right up under your boobs!!!

Xmas shopping AQ - you are clearly bonkers!

accessorizequeen · 12/08/2010 23:05

Noooooo, I'm trying to save nervous breakdown come late November like the last 3 years. DS1/2 both dec boys remember, there's a lot to buy :) If I have all presents bought I will cope with all the extra bits. Think I have found ultimate dinosaur backpack after a week of looking (I really need to get out more) Confused
I liked the short blue one and thought the phase eight longer blue one lovely Lenni, think you would look wonderful with colour! Can you get to Leeds to try loads of stuff on for a day?
Oli, thanks again for chasing dd everywhere Smile I think I have your address to send back blanket, will have a look

MNTotoro · 13/08/2010 08:44

Phase Eight and Alexandra dresses are my favourites.

jabberwocky · 14/08/2010 23:10

They are all lovely. I like the Miranda Organza one the best.

I have a dress crisis myself. I am going to my niece's wedding in a couple of weeks - last minute that I found I am able to go. She wants me to read a poem at the wedding AND her bridesmaids dresses are eggplant.

accessorizequeen · 15/08/2010 07:43

Glad injection helped jabber. Will that be regular?
Eggplant, do you mean purple? But you won't be stood next to bridesmaids anyway will you?

jabberwocky · 15/08/2010 15:44

He said they usually do them in a series of 3 and to check back in a couple of weeks. The first night was weirdly painful but yesterday and today I feel pretty good for a change.

Dress, well, I'll be up at one point reading the poem and then will be in some photos so I feel that I should at least blend iykwim. I have found something nice in lavender here But the auction doesn't end for another day and a half so I'm cutting things a bit fine.

Lenni · 15/08/2010 21:17

Jabber, I always find my joints are more painful after a cortisone injection. They feel swollen and 'juddery' if that makes sense, it must just be the steroids going to work.

I can't bear any pressure on them when I've had an injection, no chance of wearing my wrist splints for instance. Normally the splints are lovely to put on, they take the aching away but after cortisone they are horrible!

I like the dress - a bit of a close call though!

Thank you for all your opinions - have booked MIL to babysit next week and DH and I are going to go shopping so I can try them all on with him. Grin

jabberwocky · 15/08/2010 22:53

At least I know it's normal. I used a lot of ice packs and took some aspirin and things calmed down. Went to the mineral baths and had a massage today and that has helped as well.

Have emailed ebay seller to see if I can get dress by the 25th. I don't fly out until the 27th so it might work out Hmm

jabberwocky · 16/08/2010 13:47

OK, seller says dress can be here by 25th so have placed a bid. Fingers crossed for a better week!

accessorizequeen · 16/08/2010 19:55

ouch, joints sound v.painful lenni and jabber, I live for my weekly osteopath session only time my shoulder, hip and coccyx don't hurt (god I'm an old woman!) thank god the nhs are paying Grin
dress lovely, can imagine with all that dark hair jabber, go for it!

jabberwocky · 17/08/2010 00:16

osteopath sounds nice! I've got a doctor's order for physical therapy just have to get around to getting an appointment set up.

2 hours to go on the dress and I'm still the highest bidder. Fingers crossed. I think when it's pressed it will look nice

accessorizequeen · 17/08/2010 19:32

Did you win the dress jabber?

jabberwocky · 18/08/2010 01:02

YEs Grin great price and I ordered a cardi/pashmina in grey to wear with it.

accessorizequeen · 18/08/2010 22:02

Ooh, well done jabber & wedding yet to come! Can you go on your own? Grin

jabberwocky · 18/08/2010 22:43

I am actually flying out on my own. It's in Aspen and plane tickets are ridiculously expensive. But, actually it will work out OK. My brother (father of the bride) will be coming alone as well so we can pair up. It will be kind of a whirlwind weekend but maybe that's what I need to shift the energy in my life right now Hmm

MNTotoro · 19/08/2010 18:50

Sounds lovely Jabber.

Has anyone here any experience of Norethisterone?

My prolonged periods continue and now I'm experiencing hot flushes Blush
