Well, it's done at least. Hope to find out something either Friday or Monday. In the meantime I am digging into my previously neglected scarf collection to accessorize my new collar!

accessorizequeen · 29/07/2010 20:24

jabber, I'm sure it'll look very fetching on you
glad dd alright, indith, eeeek! Sounds exactly what my dd would do, god she's a danger seeker! DS2 doesn't do anything without checking with me first so it's taking some getting used to!

thoroughly enjoying having a bit of a culture/news dose lately after so long in the hinterland - reading paper every day on phone, reading a LOT (I have insomnia so getting some use out of it), movies from Lovefilm. V.much enjoyed Sherlock on tv this week (will you be getting on HBO etc jabber?). Can't wait for next installment. I am trying v.hard to stick my head into outside world so my inside world doesn't feel so crap.
looking forward to mini-meetup in a couple of weeks (Oli, Indith, Leonard & me, I count 15 of us although it's a large field...)

Lenni · 29/07/2010 21:58

Also looking forward to meet up AQ still can't get over us having 11 children between the 4 of us!

Olihan · 30/07/2010 19:39

Looking forward to meet up too, having crazy-mad busy week - visitors and have said yes to making far too many cakes so pretty snowed under!

My new website is on FB, tell me what you think as honestly as you can!

jabberwocky · 31/07/2010 13:50

very about meet-up!

It;s the Harley Davidson Biker's Rally Weekend! Thinking about heading over for some barbecue, music and seeing lots of cool bikes. Oh, and maybe some interesting tattoos

EasilyConfusedIndith · 01/08/2010 11:56

Well I eventually decided that the only way to stop feeding her at night and get some sleep would be to stop feeding completely. Still not sure I'm entirely comfortable with that. Not fed her since 4am Friday, Friday night was not great, I did a lot of sitting by her cot as she went back to sleep but last night she slept til 4.40am then was persuaded back to sleep within 5 mins. Course I didn't sleep much all night as I kept waiting for her to wake and then she woke for the day at 5.45, pretty good progress though!

That's the only way I could do it with ds2. He's an all or nothing kind of kid I guess!

EasilyConfusedIndith · 04/08/2010 14:05

Hello!

How is everyone?

Dd is not quite sleeping all night but she is much better which is rather nice.

We seem to be having quite a lazy cbeebies day. I'd feel guilty but I can't quite summon the energy.

Super hectic here. We had to take my secretary to the emergency room Monday. She had a pacemaker put in yesterday. Her daughter called and said things are looking much better but it was scary.

And I'm still tweaking computers at the office. So far I have bought two new computers, a printer, and a router. I just got a call saying the phone is not working! Was supposed to have the morning off but I guess not.

I want things back to normal!

EasilyConfusedIndith · 04/08/2010 15:26

Goodness!

Is the summer always this quiet round here?
Jabber, hope hernia under control (no idea what NAIDs or whatever are to manage it) and secretary ok too!
Cross fingers for you indith, and dd sleeping thru! Both twins & ds2 have been waking intermittently lately (ds2 very keen on standing by our bed at 5am wailing about nothing), dp is not taking it well as he wakes at 3 with insomnia most nights anyway. My dd is queen ratbag at the moment, the older boys will forgive her anything and ds1 smiles indulgently at tales of dd's escapades from that day. Poor ds2 was rooting around under the cupboard for puzzle pieces so dd thought great lark to sit on his head! Week 2 of the school hols (nearly) over and still intact (just).

MNTotoro · 07/08/2010 08:23

Hi everyone
Have been away for the last week.

AQ - I loved Sherlock
Jabber - Hope the back improves.
Indith - hopefully within a week she'll be sleeping better :)

What does eveyrone have planned for the Summer?

Lenni · 08/08/2010 20:25

Argh! Please let the summer holidays end soon! The stress levels are rising, surely there isn't another month to go?!

Well I've decided that I actually need to go back to proper work, I can't last any longer with the odd bit of time to myself here and there. I've got to decide whether to take up the PhD offer and condemn us to poverty for 3 years or to find a job. I can't seem to make a decision.

Indith - hope things are going well there with DD's sleep.

EasilyConfusedIndith · 10/08/2010 09:02

Morning :)

Dd is sleeping much better, got a few things to work on but doing well. :)

Went to Ikea on Saturday and we now have wardrobes! So exciting! Spent most of SUnday dragging stuff out that had been shoved under our bed for the past year since we moved and we now have a lovely tidy room with clothes actually put away and not in a pile on the floor!

Ds is finally just about sorted with the toilet training so dd decided to join in today, they were watching Thomas when the room was filled with an incredible stench. Dd had done a poo (of the horrible, stinky splat variety), taken her nappy off, trodden in it and the trodden it all over the carpet.

MNTotoro · 10/08/2010 09:32

Oh Indith. Nice. Hmm

Rainy here. Kids watching a film but getting bored already.

Olihan · 10/08/2010 20:42

Bleurgh, Indith. No prizes for guessing how you spent your day today then?! (Do you still want a lift tomorrow, btw? Still ok if you do, just deciding what to do wrt car seats in the morning).

Hols going alright so far but definitely need to be a bit more pro active about getting out and about. I'm still trying to straighten out the house after the building work so they're being left to their own devices a bit too much.

jabberwocky · 11/08/2010 01:05

Hello, everyone.

Sorry about the carpet, Indith. Big ewwwww factor there.

I should here in a day or two the verdict about my neck. MAybe will get an epidural cortisone injection. That might be nice.

I took the boys to see Toy Story 3 on Saturday. We really enjoyed it. Ds2 starts pre-K 3 next week Shock. It will be strange to have them in school again. 2 1/2 months off means an entirely different lifestyle. But I think they're both ready to go back.

Lenni · 11/08/2010 21:05

had fun today, how did we have so many children and still be sane?!

Jabber, hope neck ok. Yes, cortisone is nice Grin

Olihan · 11/08/2010 21:10

More to the point, how did we all go home with the correct number of children each? Grin. Also had a lovely day, kids are shattered. It was very odd to be the one with 'older' kids, most of my friends are parents of ds1's friends (who are all the youngest of each family) so I'm the one with the littlies - it was strange to be the only one with no buggy. But good to have a spare pair of hands to capture small escapees!

Lenni · 11/08/2010 21:19

Right folks - got that dreaded wedding coming up and DH has given me free rein, (within reason) to get a nice dress since he's part of the wedding party and I'm abandoned for the night with lots of posh folk. Given my curvaceous (those who haven't met me read "fat") figure which one of these would you go for:

Coast dresses

Olihan · 11/08/2010 23:59

You get to choose from 149 dresses Shock Grin.

I think you may have to link your choices separately!

Olihan · 12/08/2010 00:00

And you are NOT fat, btw.

castlesintheair · 12/08/2010 11:04

Wow, that's a lot of dresses Lenni!!! Am very into purple at the moment having spent the day in Bath with my Bling mate who insisted I stop wearing so much black. I have a fab dress that I'm wearing to a wedding in September from New Look and it cost a tenner! I'm tallish (5'8") but extremely curvy as well (sigh) and it looks pretty good on me, if I say so myself, which I never do, btw. I was surprised. Can link if you are interested to see what might suit you that you would never consider, if you get what I'm on about Grin

Hope everyone's well and it sound's like you northern birds all had a lovely meet-up, which I am quite envious of!

Btw, Oli, I linked your cake business to my FB account but it seems to have vanished. Just thought I'd let you know anyway Smile
