I'm here. Not sure where everyone else has gone to Confused

EustaciaVye · 16/06/2011 12:50

I'm here.....just not on as much these days.

Indith · 17/06/2011 08:29

I'll just have to go play with my local lot then. Or pay some attention to my children Shock

EustaciaVye · 17/06/2011 08:52

Shock cant have that Indith.

Why dont we all summarise where we're at right now and then we can all catch up?

DD2 has had her first school visit and is excited about starting in September. She is wonderful, bright, funny, whingy and irritating in equal measures. She is still wearing glasses/patches (got some new specs recently - pic on fb).

DD1 is leaving infants soon and starting Juniors in September. I cant quite believe my little girl is getting so big! She is worrying a bout leaving her teacher.

Next.....

Indith · 17/06/2011 16:41

The girl still doesn't sleep, it far too bright for her own good, never shuts up and is driving me to distraction while being very, very sweet and caring and adorable Hmm. Wish I knew how she did it.

The boy is, well, a boy who runs aorund at 100 miles an hour all day long making rude noises, telling fantastical stories and shotting things.

I got a BFP yesterday.

I need to finish packing for the weekend. I do not want to go away but MIL didn't give us a choice, she just rang up and demanded dh booked time off work. Since it ocmes a week after our holiday we managed to get out of his taking more time off work but we still have to go for the weekend.

I just got the appeal date in the post today. It is on a day I can't really do as we should be driving down to Oxford for another wedding via my parents house to dump the dcs. No way I can just let them decide based on a written statement though so need to call my parents who are annoyingly out at the moment to see if they can pick the infants up at some point in the week so we can do the appeal and drive straight down. Stress!

The morning before getting my BFP I merrily invited a bunch of friends in the village over for midsummer Pimms and pudding next week. I'm thinking they might notice if I'm not drinking. Ooops.

EustaciaVye · 17/06/2011 17:05

Congratulations Indith! Grin

Dont worry about all of the arrangements coming up. Stuff will just happen.

accessorizequeen · 18/06/2011 17:46

Ooh-er indith congrats!!!!!
Sorry not been around, week after house move I erm ran away to my sisters in Brighton. Stress all too much, not eating not slEeping always yelling, suicidal etc. Had a week out at sisters and mums whilst family and dp stepped in and am still off work. Better but am wary that it's a thin line. Still waiting for some CBT, counselling was rubbish and drugs no help either.
DS2 the one who took my absence and house move hardest, started soiling but it's better now. He has home visit from teacher next week, uniform mounting up and a bedroom of his very own nearly ready. Ds1 goes into year 3 big school in sept, still soiling daily, but doing v well academically. I feel closest to him but I guess that's natural.
Dts are um loving new house with bigger garden and boxes to break into. DD has today thrown all my work paperwork on the floor, broken 2eggs, run away from me 17 times and jumped all the way to the library where she wanted EVERY book. Delicious. Ds3 has a hull accent (none of the others do), enjoys life immensely and is delicious. 3 in Sept, wow.

jabberwocky · 18/06/2011 23:48

Indith, big congrats!

AQ :( So sorry to hear things have been tough. I can totally relate - had a bad episode a month or so ago. After I pull out of them I sometimes wonder how and why it got so bad but in the middle of it all I feel is despondance and utter helplessness. I really hope you can get into CBT soon. That was very helpful after ds1 was born, although I feel sure I will always need the drugs too.

The office is doing better I am cautiously optimistic that I will get a paycheck at the end of the month - well just getting equity back out actually but it would be nice.

My gr-niece is with us tonight and the boys are sooo excited. She is the one with the twin sisters so giving nephew and his wife a short break.

Indith · 19/06/2011 17:25

Oh AQ I'm so sorry. Really, really hope the CBT comes through soon. In the meantime huge hugs.

Got our appeal date. 8th July which is the day we were supposed to be driving dcs down to mum and dad's then ourselves to Oxford for a wedding so parents are going to pick them up at some point in the week so we can go straight down to Oxford after the hearing. Hearing = stress as we now know they are already up to 15 from usual class size of 12 but yay for some extra, unexpected child free time! My loft is going to be beaten into submission.

Just had the weekend in Northumberland with MIL. On of her dh's children came up too for the weekend with his dd and his very pg wife. The dd was born at 36 weeks, she was just a few days over that this time. Of course her waters broke overnight so by the time we all got up they had left their dd sleeping and were over at teh hospital. We had to do the poor girl's little 3rd birthday party (another of MIL's dh's children came over too who live half an hour away from the holiday let with their ds), presents from her cousins and grandparents, cake and candles etc then her grandad took her over to teh hospital who had agreed to let them drive back down home to Manchester since she wasn't having contractions so she could then go and be monitered/induced there. Phew!

accessorizequeen · 22/06/2011 15:41

thanks jabber, indith Blush
have appointment for assessment in July, not sure if that means I'll get some CBT but it's the first day of the school hols so not sure how I'll make it! I'm back at work today after 2 weeks away from it and it's more stressful than before. Due to complicated legal reasons we still haven't bought our house yet spending ££££ on it, meant to complete on Friday but it's all gone wonky arrghh. Even dp is stressed now. I am trying really hard to stay off caffeine/chocolate, get rest/sleep and do yoga etc.
Indith, fingers XXXX here for appeal.

Indith · 23/06/2011 13:24

Flipping heck AQ no wonder you are stressed! Fingerts crossed it all come together really soon.

jabberwocky · 24/06/2011 00:57

Yikes, AQ! That is stressful. I'll never understand British real estate transactions...

EustaciaVye · 24/06/2011 08:19

Blimey. There's a lot going on at the moment.

AQ - things will turn out ok, I'm sure. Just might be a long road...

jabberwocky · 25/06/2011 00:53

OK, this may sound a little too New-Agey, AQ, but I'm doing a training program for Rhythmic Entrainment Intervention. They have a general Calming CD. I got it at the sensory processing seminar where I first learned of the program. Anyway, it's supposed to help lots of issues including anxiety. The custom CD;s are better but maybe give it a try until the CBT comes through?
here

Indith · 28/06/2011 17:19

How are things?

Soaking uo the sun past few days here. Otherwise known as melting.

Dh has another flipping regatta on Saturday in Cumbria. Urgh. I could go.....a lake, a nice area apparently, country parkish but no idea what might be there. Leave the house around 7.30am, his races should be done by 2pm, which translated into dh speak means at least 3pm then another couple of hours to sort boats, make sure they are on the trailor and to debrief. Not entirely sure I can be arsed unless someone can assure me that there is a massive and very exciting playground at Talkin Tarn!

Indith · 02/07/2011 16:58
EustaciaVye · 05/07/2011 17:50

Hi Indith - Hope you survived the weekend.

I have had 2 school inductions and a ballet exam to cope with today.

jabberwocky · 07/07/2011 16:06

Well, dh is leaving on Monday with the boys for a week at the beach Envy It's been a bit of a thing that he planned this without me and I could have flown down for part of the weekend except he's taking them for Monday thru Friday...I'm going to go out one night for a margarita with the girls at least.

Indith · 07/07/2011 17:41

At least you get some peace Jabber!

I survived the regatta weekend, I didn't go which was a very good thing, dh didn't get home until after the dcs were in bed!

Currently have both dcs at my mum's and dh in London, it has been very quiet and I am now typing not from my living room surrounded by mess and adding to the mess by my computer beig in there but from my very tidy loft bedroom, all nicely set up! I'm hoping this means I will spend less time online but because the space is now usable and I can allow the dcs up here without fearing for their lives I will still be around. Was spending way too much time online.

Appeal is tomorrow. Think I'm ready, fingers crossed!

jabberwocky · 09/07/2011 23:39

Good luck Indith! I was wondering when the appeal was.
I've been thinking about taking some money out of my retirement fund to fix up our downstairs a little nicer. I've always considered it a non-starter discussion as far as taking $$ out but now thinking it might be worth it to have a place in the house just for me. It's really quite ridiculous when I think about the space we have and there's nowhere that is just mine....

Indith · 11/07/2011 18:30

We won :)

EustaciaVye · 12/07/2011 09:39

Well done!
Is it an infant or primary? Ie, will you get the sibling rule for the next one?

Indith · 12/07/2011 21:17

we will get sibling for dd yes. It shouldn't be a problem though, this year has seen particularly high applications in all the schools so suggests a large birth year. A friend who lives about 5 metres closer to the school than we do got her ds1 in on appeal a couple of years ago, he was the only appeal. Her ds2 has got in this year without having to go to appeal.

Amapoleon · 14/07/2011 20:17

Hola! saw some of you on the going to school thread, so i thought I'd pop in and say hello. Can't believe ds will be starting in Seeptember. I still think of him as my baby, there again I can't believe dd is going into year 6 either. Anyway look forward to catching up with you all xxx
