Solo!

SatinShoes · 22/12/2010 09:54

Solo - hellooooo.

Indith - sounds horrible. Hope the bed works though!

Jabber - glad the babysitting worked out :)

My girls are coming down with colds/coughs. We have got through a box of tissues since yesterday Shock Sad

FiveColdRingsForSolo · 22/12/2010 11:07

Sorry! I know I seem to drop off, not sure how!

Satin, my Dc's have both had it! it's not good at all...Dd didn't eat for a week almost and was running a high temp, coughing, sneezing etc. She's fine now and Ds is at my Mums place and much better too. I hope your Dd's don't get it for Christmas Xmas Sad.

accessorizequeen · 22/12/2010 11:54

Happy birthday for solo's dd and indith's (really, 2 already! Yikes! Tell her she's two now, she ought to sleep or no cake!). Cannot believe I now have 7yo, 4yo and 2x2yo. Who are all v.v.excited about Xmas.
Jabber, what a lovely auntie you are? I bet it was lovely for them to have just the babies, I found bathtime/bedtime at that point really stressful. My new cunning plan is that ds1/ds2 don't have a bath on Fri/Sat/hols, they can have a shower in the morn. Why on earth I have insisted all giving all 4 a bath every night is beyond me. DP out tonight so it's time for shortcuts!
Really ought to be at work, I'm researching social media-type things, seems I may have missed out on a small thing called twitter..

Indith · 23/12/2010 11:11

The girl is 2 and parading around in a new fairly princess tutu and wings Xmas Smile. Ds is playing with her dollshouse Xmas Grin. I have a horrible cold. Have iced the cake already, need to go clean up and make sandwiches etc for later.

Merry Christmas folks!

FiveColdRingsForSolo · 23/12/2010 16:13

Happy Birthday little solo and little indith!

Elibean · 24/12/2010 20:48

Happy Birthday small Solo and small Indith! I think I've missed a few, so more happy birthdays belatedly...

...and a big, warm, chocolatey, well-slept Merry Christmas to all Xmas Smile

(though what are the odds: dd1's birthday on Wednesday, hence Wed night dd2 woke me up at 4am because she'd eaten a jelly bean dd1 had put under her pillow 'and it tastes horrible, take it away Muma!'; last night she woke me up at 3am because she was worried that Santa would'nt get any presents in spite of giving so many - what are the odds on a peaceful night tonight?! She'll discover her stocking at 2am, I'll bet, and wake me up to tell me its there....)

SatinShoes · 24/12/2010 20:59

Merry Christmas everyone! :)

Mince pie - check
Sherry - check
Carrot - check
Reindeer food - check.

gifts all ready and waiting to go into stocking. dd1 still not well so praying she doesnt wake in the night. also a shame they wont be able to use their bikes the day they get them as we still have a road full of ice :(

Lenni · 24/12/2010 21:55

Merry Christmas everyone! Hope you all have a fab day tomorrow and all the littlies too.

Madness here atm with DD's birthday, back to work, trip to eurodisney and DS's birthday all in the next 2 weeks but really looking forward to all of it.

Hope you are all okay, off to read thread now...

FiveColdRingsForSolo · 24/12/2010 22:15

Merry Christmas everyone!

accessorizequeen · 25/12/2010 08:30

I can't believe it's Christmas, I am finally excited! Bulging stickings opened. Pancakes made. Have a wonderful day everyone!

Indith · 26/12/2010 16:41

Happy birthday little solo!

We have had a very screamy christmas. Both dcs have terrible colds and have completely forgotten what toilets and potties are for Hmm. They have recovered enough to rip paper off a multitude of presents though Xmas Smile. Winning in the favour stakes so far are Buzz Lightyear (ds) and a lovely teaset and mini cakes (dd). MIL's tomorrow for more plastic. Woohoo!

jabberwocky · 26/12/2010 17:17

We actually had a really nice Christmas. Lego City was a HUGE hit with the dcs. I can't believe how many things they have already put together. Of course, ds1 is now showing me all of the other sets that are available....

and a belated e-card for you all Xmas Wink

here

Indith · 26/12/2010 19:07

Lego is fab isn't it Jabber. I'm bloody useless at it but the dcs love it. Duplo doesn't get a look in these days with either of them. I think that our lego collection is going to expand rather a lot at MIL's tomorrow! Presents from her and from BIL will be opened then.

jabberwocky · 28/12/2010 10:32

Yes, duplos are now a thing of the past.

Did anyone get a chance to look at my e-card

Lenni · 28/12/2010 21:58

Am looking now Jabber - well waiting for it to load. Our internet is appalingly slow.

We've not ventured into the world of Lego yet - perhaps one for DS next year since he is getting far too much time with dolls, pushchairs and princess outfits lately as DD was very definately in that phase at 2yo so all our toys from that era are a bit girly. This is the only problem with having one of each, nothing really crosses the gender divide quite as well as you think it is going to.

We've had a good Christmas but a little stressful with my MIL cooking - she hates cooking but will never let me do it even though I absolutely love cooking. Oh well, will always be the way I expect.

DD's birthday today, and very restrained amount of presents which was welcome after far too many arrived for Christmas. She had an absolutely gorgeous princess style dressing up dress from PIL which I think will get a run out at her party on Monday. And then off to Disneyland on Wednesday morning, until Sunday night. Then the following Monday I start back at work... eek.

Happy Birthday little Oli!

FiveColdRingsForSolo · 28/12/2010 23:05

Thank you!!!

Hope all is well and that not too many mince pies have been consumed Xmas Wink

jabberwocky · 29/12/2010 00:31

It does take a while to load Blush

I guess it is tricky having one of each. The boys have such similar tastes that most of their gifts were "to both" kind of things.

I have taken very little time off from work and am wondering if that was such a good idea. Toooo stressed atm and dh is not helping at all :(

SatinShoes · 29/12/2010 09:08

Hi everyone

lenni - disneyland will be fab but freezing. hope you have skisuits for the kids?

dd1 has been ill all over christmas but is getting better now thankfully.

dd2 is so excited about everything - her volume needs an off button but alas i cant find one. she has also taken to calling dh 'dad' and not 'daddy' which is drivinh him (and me) nuts.

Indith · 29/12/2010 13:33

Afraid I gave up before it loaded Jabber. My internet is broadband in name only. It is uber slow and at the moment keeps cutting out, think the lines around here are really old, of the era where buried lines were insulated with paper. They do not like cold and damp.

Lenni hope you have a fab time at Disney :)

I think in a lot of ways having a boy then a girl is so much easier than the other way round. Dd plays happily with all the boy toys so just takes a couple of things each birthday to cater to her girl tastes.

I feel in desperate need to normal routine at the moment. Dcs are so very washed out from pox then colds and everyone is very grumpy and shouty. Of course dd is entering a rather trying age but she is stubborn as a mule and disagrees with everything so extra grot does not help! Her new fave phrase is "no way". Often screamed at the top of her voice whenever we try to get her to do somehting. Works well with "that really hurts" for full effect in public. All the upset with moving to big bed (which worked really well and is still good once she is actually asleep) and people visiting and then staying overnight at MIL's (when dd has never settled well in other places) means that dd screams when we try to put her to bed no matter how tired she is. Last night was 45 mins of "no way" and throwing things befor eshe fell asleep. At MIL's she refused sleep until about 11pm.

Like I said, a period of normal routine is needed!

So much for the holiday destressing dh and making him more open to having another one Wink

jabberwocky · 30/12/2010 01:48

Sorry it's such a big file :(

I hope things calm down and Shock at talk of number 3. Although if I had started at a younger age I might have been tempted.

Dh just made cookies! I really have to find out what meds the dentist put him on today after doing the root canal.

DylthanThroughTheSnow · 30/12/2010 20:34
