ilovesprouts · 18/11/2010 19:22

ooh can i join my ds2 is 4 on dec 1st Grin

SatinShoes · 18/11/2010 20:21

Hello ilovespouts :)

jabberwocky · 19/11/2010 00:26

I really want to put "Pom Bear Anyone?" as my status but I don't think anyone I know in RL will get it Bear

Indith · 19/11/2010 09:04

Hello again ilovesprouts :)

Jabber on Monday someone brought pombears to toddler group! I was very suspicious. There was a bit of party type food as someone was moving away. The someone is married to a lecturer, is a tutor at one of the colleges at the university and could generally be considered good MN material but it turned out it was the woman who runs the group who got the Bears. I did have trouble restraining my giggles whent hey were put on the table though!

accessorizequeen · 19/11/2010 09:46

Hi sprouts! Surely pom bear v v healthy? Bought a sneaky packet for myself last week, got stuck on phone and had to watch as ds2 and dts found packet and ate them all with glee!

Elibean · 19/11/2010 19:28

Thanks, Jabber, will check re shingles. Can live without that happening again Hmm every day that passes I remember a bit more about what normal feels like, and I like it! But still tired enough for back to pack up with least effort after about 2pm...ended up back on painkillers last night, then at osteopath today: I shall behave (repeats 100 times).

Blush that said, its dd2's birthday party tomorrow - actual birthday on 24th, well remembered AQ and Jabber! 14 littlies, 4 big sisters, too many parents and a magician/puppeteer whom I'm counting on big time. He's handsome, too Smile

Indith, good luck with the marbles - I'm glad its not an impaction, at least. I have to admit, I used small chocolate chips to potty train dd1 and have to say, for all things toilet related bribery worked wonders. Hope its that simple for you!

SatinShoes....oh yes, I remember! You keep my memory on its toes, with all those names Wink How is dd?

Right, back to party bags...

SatinShoes · 19/11/2010 21:22

I'm convinced DD2 is now attention-seeking :(

I think she DID have a problem, but as she isnt complaining AT ALL at preschool I think it is all my benefit. However, she won some smellies tonight at school fair and I have said she cant use them in bath until her bits are better. "But they're fine now mummy". So I've said 3/4 'fine' days and she can have a bubble bath. I think it may work Hmm

jabberwocky · 19/11/2010 23:38

Interesting! They do come up with some interesting attention-getting plans, don't they? Good for you on withholding bubbles.

jabberwocky · 20/11/2010 00:37

Blush To my shame I wrote a very short post using the word "interesting" twice and I hadn't even been drinking...

SatinShoes · 20/11/2010 09:11

Jabber - your post was very interesting Grin

She's still ok this morning, and still asking for bubbles. My only concern is that if it was vulvovaginitis like I thought then the bubbles really wont be good for it. Hu Hum.

I just had a lie in until now (grateful to DH).

Indith · 20/11/2010 09:15

Hope the bubble bribes work satin :)

Eli I wish it were that simple to bribe ds. Dd would do anything for chocolate (although potty trained without needing it at all, she just wanteddemanded to) but alas ds still does not like chocolate, will eat the occasional sweet but just isn't bothered.

SatinShoes · 20/11/2010 09:26

what about lego, indith?

jabberwocky · 20/11/2010 14:46

With ds2 it would be either a) any kind of toy gun, preferably one that makes a lot of noise, or b) anything Star Wars but preferably a light saber that makes a lot of noise.

I have NO idea where his fascination with weapons came from. Ds1 is not like that at all.

jabberwocky · 20/11/2010 14:50

Lots of people watching on ebay but no bids in several days. I know it all comes down to the last few minutes/seconds but still can't imagine it's going to get up to the reserve price Hmm

SatinShoes · 20/11/2010 15:34

Jabber, if it doesnt sell, just try again in a few weeks (just before christmas).

I had some stuff on ebay last week and was hoping to make about £50 but only made £30. At least it clears my garage out.

jabberwocky · 20/11/2010 19:15

Good point! I found out on Tuesday that a local jeweler will take things on consignment so have considered htat as a fallback plan as well.

Indith · 20/11/2010 20:10

A new lego toy per wee or poo would get a bit expensive satin Grin. No he has a jar that we are filling (with pasta, no marbles to be found in County Durham) and has been promised a new lego set when it is full.

I made waffles today, dd thanked me by gobbling one up and 2 min later regurgitating it Hmm. The girl is still the queen of screaming, by heck she is a good tantrumer! Not quite herself though, can't see evidence of another molar but I know of nothing else that goes on this long

accessorizequeen · 21/11/2010 09:03

I am sob having the worst birthday ever. DP has been throwing up since 2pm yesterday, so I put all the kids to bed, cleaned up the whole house and then had to get up this morning instead of my lie-in. Ds1 & ds2 haven't stopped arguing since 2pm yesterday and ds3 keeps screaming for no apparent reason (well possibly because dd keeps whacking him). I have &&&*%^ sinusitus again after a whole month of it in the summer. I've already yelled several times and it's only 9 in the morning. Feeling extremely sorry for myself and sobbed on ds1 already. Things can only get better right???
On the positive side (I"m trying) I do feel that the PND has turned a corner thanks to my free afternoon every week.

jabberwocky · 21/11/2010 09:57

AQ :( I'm SO sorry! Maybe dp has just a 24 hour thing and the evening is still salvagable Had you already made plans for someone to take the dcs for the evening? If so, I would still definitely take advantage of that! Perhaps post on your FB page that you could do with some playdates for them at someone else's house!! My only other suggestion is to start drinking bloody Marys and progress from there Wink

SatinShoes · 21/11/2010 10:29

Aw, AQ. :(

You'll need to postpone your birthday until DH is well and then I'm sure he'll make it up to you. Sadly these things happen but at least it can only get better :)

castlesintheair · 21/11/2010 12:39

Aw poor AQ Sad
Fwiw, my birthday has always been the worst day of year and at the grand of age of 41 I have totally given up on ever having a good one and am have even decided to get younger from now on Wink
Happy Birthday from me anyway! I agree with Jabber's suggestion of drinking your way through it Grin
Great news about the PND. Definitely having some time to yourself is the answer. Note for anyone else who is suffering.

castlesintheair · 21/11/2010 12:40

'old age' I may be getting younger but my typing is certainly getting worse!!

Indith · 21/11/2010 16:29

Oh no AQ! I think you need to have an official birthday next weekend.

accessorizequeen · 21/11/2010 19:36

thanks, all Smile and for messages on FB too! dp finally got out of bed at 10 (I was little lacking in sympathy after I found out he had week old game pie for lunch yesterday!) and we dragged ourselves out to lunch and lights switch-on in town which kept the dcs quiet-ish! Don't think I had high expectations, just was sooo tired and feeling ill and kids all screaming on and off or mummmmeeeeeee. I did have large glass of wine with lunch on your suggestion, which helped muchly! My mum and sis came along and were lovely as always.
Castles, why is your bday worst day of year every year? Sad Doesn't dh make special effort because your family don't?

Lenni · 23/11/2010 00:09

Hello Blush I'm falling out of the habit (and the time) to get on here. I'm missing you all though - can't believe I missed the pom bears too!

Will relurk...
