Thanks Ladies. I'm not brave or special or a wonderful mom or any of that, I'm just trying to struggle through. Like we all are, I think.
Sometimes, especially recently, I've questioned if I've taken on too much with Guides AND re-opening our Senior unit and in a few months I'm going to be the leader of the Guides (right now I'm "just" an assistant but our Unit Guider is retiring after this school year and having been a leader in the States, and the only one in the unit the inclination to, I'm the one stepping into the Unit Guider role) AND all the medical stuff, baby stuff, home stuff, etc. But Guides are the one thing I really do for myself. Yes, I do things like make cards, bake, etc., but I always give all of those away. Guides have been in my life since I was eight (I started as a Brownie when we moved to the 'burbs when I was a child) and I can't imagine NOT doing it. Besides, I've always said I would quit when it's not fun any more and frankly, it's still a lot of fun. I get a lot out of being with the girls and the teens (the Seniors) are giving me a whole new perspective.
I don't like the taste of Christmas pudding (or mince pies for that matter) but last year I tried making a Christmas pudding -- and it was so much fun to make! And it helps that everyone really liked it. So this year I have a list as long as my arm of people to make puddings for. I'm not here for Stir-Up Sunday (it's when we're home for Thanksgiving) so am starting now to get them all made. Anyone want one? Happy to make and post (honestly, I am. I enjoy making them!).
How are you feeling, littlepea? Can I ask what made you test?
How is the school run/prep going, fidelma?
When do you go back to work, Iggly?
Don't worry, HT, Sebby does that sometimes, too. It's so good that he's in his own room, though, so at least I can pretend not to hear him (although I can't go back to sleep until I know he's asleep).
CF, I remember learning, way back in uni, in one of my education classes, that bi-lingual children take a bit longer to start speaking but once they do they are fluent in both languages. I am very envious of all those that speak more than one language and are able to pass that on to their children.
twinkle I never see notices when that FB page has updates.
Sebby's 10.5 months today. Has anyone planned their little one's first birthday?
(Apologies for the novel!)
