lol pistachio about the door!
cf good idea, I will try that if I get brave enough. I just don't want to say goodbye to his beautiful curls!!

Ksal - I tell off other people's kids, too (in a calm, gentle teacher way). I would said as soon as he pushed emma, something like "oh, no you need to be very gentle with others. She is much smaller than you. That's too rough. You could have really hurt her" with a serious look of disappointment.

In fact, this is exactly what I did do when a mean boy pushed Q at softplay . I would never shout or be unkind but would speak in a way that I wouldn't mind if someone spoke to Q in that way... iyswim...

how scary about the paddling pool ksal. You did the right thing, though!!

myjob - boys are so wild! I can't believe he was unhurt, either!

Q has sticky eyes (not conjunctivitis) and a runny nose and still working on getting those 4 teeth through (chewing on fingers like mad). Poor guy is so fussy and irritable. Calpol / Calprofen to the rescue

Ekka · 24/05/2010 11:22

How many teeth does Q have now Star? Matthew still only has 8 . I'm a bit confused about where the rest have gone!!!!

KSal · 24/05/2010 11:44

ah you see, i did shout... not when he pushed emma as i was busy comforting her/trying to gee her up, but when he was in the process of trying to force another girl off the edge i did raise my voice... just said a sharp 'Hey. No pushing on the slide' Loud enough to be heard over all the noise of the children. Oh well... its done now

myjob... sounds very scary. I guess we've all got lots of near misses to look forward to over the years to come.

KSal · 24/05/2010 11:47

star - hope the calpol does the trick!

StarExpat · 24/05/2010 12:55

He has 12 teeth. Just got the 12th a little while ago, but 4 new ones between molars and canines are coming through now.

Ksal - nothing wrong with shouting! Especially if it stopped him from hurting others

I still think that even if you did shout, he deserved it for hurting Emma. And then continuing to bully others. Meanie. I just wouldn't have the balls to do it. But would in my mind high five the mother who did

pepperrabbit · 24/05/2010 22:01

evening - have been awol dealing with pesky real life.
DS1 is 6 tomorrow... had his birthday party on saturday so that took up most of my life, work has been chaotic (though nothing like HMMs) not really sure what else I've been doing but it seems to be days since i sat down with the laptop and tried to catch up.

StarExpat · 25/05/2010 09:03

Happy Birthday to littlerabbit1
I'm freaking out because I can't remember when I last had my period and it feels like it's been ages and I am more than exhausted and craving fizzy drinks . I'm 99.9% sure I'm not pregnant but I've worked myself up into such a state this morning. I can't be pg right now. There is no way we can afford it. Someone come tell me I'm just bloated and going to get my period any time now.

KSal · 25/05/2010 09:58

get thee to a chemist star - there's only one way to put your mind at rest...

i'm (or at least my client is) being audited today and tomorrow... very worried indeed.

Hope all are well.

StarExpat · 25/05/2010 10:17

good luck, ksal!!

CantSleepWontSleep · 25/05/2010 11:57

Exhaustion and thirst both signs of it being hot weather star, so don't panic! If you really have no idea of when you are due on then wait until the weekend and test then if still no sign.

OP posts:
StarExpat · 25/05/2010 12:07

I never thought of fizzy drink craving being for thirst but I guess you're right. I just don't usually drink them at all. I got a 2 pack of tests from sainsburys but this is so ridiculous. I think my last period was around the 20th (??)ish of April because it's usually at the start of the month and I remember 1st may thinking, "why don't I have my period?" then I thought to myself "oh yes, I think I had it just a couple of weeks ago".... But I wasn't even sure at that time. I can't believe I didn't write it down. Sorry for the whinge.

ronshar · 25/05/2010 14:14

Star

I have been shopping. New dress and sparkly shoes. I am happy happy.

StarExpat · 25/05/2010 15:12

special ocassion?

50ftQueenie · 25/05/2010 15:15

Hello and ugh ugh ugh at this horrible weather.

KSal - I think you were fairly restrained. I turn into a right old fishwife in such situations. I often tell random children off, and often get sworn at in reply. That old adage that it takes a village to raise a child always springs to mind. I feel a community responsibility to shout at naughty children address dangerous or irresponsible behaviour. That's my excuse anyway and I don't really care what people think about me either.

Star - Lots of things can make your period late if you are late. Stress, weight loss, pregnancy..... Please let us know the results of any test you do.........

Ronshar - Ooooo lovely shopping. Photos? Links?

Myjob - Naughty DS scaring his mummy like that! Children really do seem to be made of rubber sometimes don't they?! Glad he was ok, even if you weren't!

Hi Pepper - Did they go to sleep in the end? We will never be repeating the sleep-over party event. It was awful.

M just made me laugh. She pulled my top down, patted my cleavage said 'bum bum', sniffed me then said "poo". Ah lovely.

took test just before leaving school at 3.30pm. NEGATIVE!

LOL about sniffing and "poo".

50ftQueenie · 25/05/2010 18:30

Ah damn bad good news Star!

coconutfeet · 25/05/2010 19:24

Can't believe I go off for a couple of days and Star's taking pregnancy tests! Glad you got the result you want, Star.

I'm always telling other people's children off. I try and do it gently but I think it's important. I do it with teenagers sometimes too.

I was walking behind a group of boys who were eating fried chicken and watched them chuck the empty box on the pavement. I called out "Excuse me, you dropped something!" (in a really nice voice, like I genuinely think they've got no idea that it's fallen out of their hands). They always apologise. It works every time. ...until I get stabbed, that is.

S did a scribble today and pointed at it and said "Mummy". I'm not sure why that particular milestone really got to me, but I nearly cried.

Hope everyone's OK!

haha 50ft. I would need serious 24 hour counseling if I got pg right now.

aww that's so sweet cf!

Good luck on the exam, pistachio. Q gets the same way with teeth - is like that now in fact. Poor babies

I'm sooooo tired. Happy about the test result but will be happier when I get my period! I just thought about the past 2 weeks and how a few times I've been so dizzy/nauseous taht I've had to sit down in the middle of talking to my class, I've been really, really tired, bloated, and then the fizzy drink craving! Oh, and some spots on my face (yuck). So then I got myself worked up that it was pg symptoms as those are very similar to how I felt when Q had just been conceived. Hopefully it's PMS... or as you would say, PMT.
