v impressed you're even trying oops! mum bought DS a potty months ago! i am still v about it all but she reckons she's going to potty train him before DD (woah!!!) is here...we shall see

well, apricot and raisin muffins are in the oven,we've done some 'gardening' (DS puts soil on his spade and chucks it in the air!) kitchen is clean and DS is fed and milked (although this is a wip) and i'm now back on the sofa

VG/GG/LG now what one might that be then? That particular one has been on our list since pre-DS being a S and not a D!

ooooh buzzer's going......

MrsMiamla · 30/04/2010 18:39

i'm giving them two more minutes... watch me burn my beautiful batch of muffins now

this book is it hots

QueenofDreams · 30/04/2010 18:44

could try sazz I'm just worried about being overambitious with having another one on the way. Just seems like he's starting to get ready, not sure if he's ready just yet.

The book I refer to in previous post is the nearly £100 book

MrsMiamla · 30/04/2010 18:45

good grief qod! you've got expensive taste in books!

sazz i believe it enables you (or anyone else for that matter) to click on the fb icon and it adds a link to that thread on your fb profile. Same as if you'd copied and pasted the address

QueenofDreams · 30/04/2010 18:53

miamla it really shouldn't be that price normally. think it's some profiteer cashing in on the fact that it's between editions so not available anywhere atm

MrsMiamla · 30/04/2010 19:18

qod guessed it might be!

well I have, apparently, just produced the best muffins in the world! This is according to DH but I feel he is a little biased, particularly as he's after a [bshock] tonight!

TwilightSurfer · 30/04/2010 19:24

Queenie Reese is doing the same regarding nappies. Honestly it's fine apart from yesterday WHEN while I was sweeping she opened the patio door, closed the patio door, took off her nappie and ran streaking around the house. I caught up to her in the front yard. Oops have you been influencing my child?

TwilightSurfer · 30/04/2010 19:26

Guess I missed the point there.... I am unsure if she's ready to potty train and since I have more than a year before she HAS TO BE then I'm just letting nature take it's course by allowing her to do whatever she wants.

might be peeing with rain but quick visit to friends house to deliver her (belated) birthday present and walk to shop for munchies let us see a lovely double rainbow - all is well

D now in bed, L watching Peppa and demanding to go the beach NOW and E at drama learning to be more of a sodding diva than she already is

DH been cancelled for court meaning we actually have my birthday off together for more years than I care to remember

miamla - well done on the muffins

and happy weeing all round!

dizzydixies · 30/04/2010 19:34

TS - I'm with you on the potty training - let them out naked in the summer - there, job done

dizzydixies · 30/04/2010 19:39

oh and miamla - I have decided

Theodore and Josephine nn Josie

cyteen · 30/04/2010 19:46

Ah, potty training...DS thinks the v tacky lime green Ikea potty is just another thing to help him climb into the bath With the warm weather coming there should be lots of opportunities to let them roam around in gardens and yards sans pants, which I'm thinking will help them make the link between feeling and doing iyswim.

cyteen · 30/04/2010 19:46

dizzy great minds and all that

Oh absolutely Sazz, believe me I'm in no hurry with DS. He'll be ready when he's ready I just like the idea of less nappy changes!

TwilightSurfer · 30/04/2010 20:10

Was Penelope suggested Miamla?

OP posts:
oopsandbabycoconut · 30/04/2010 20:16

I have to say the potty until asked for today has only been good for wearing on her head and for 'bathing' teddies I nearly fell off my dino when she asked. I am a fan of letting her let all out in the summer and see what happens.

Chinese on the way, DD sleeping, DH in the bath and I'm trying to find something to watch on the telly.

TwilightSurfer · 30/04/2010 20:22

That just reminded me. Reese seems to think the REAL POTTY has teeth and took it upon herself to BRUSH those teeth with HER TOOTHBRUSH. That toothbrush is not H I S T O R Y.

TwilightSurfer · 30/04/2010 20:25

OH FREUD! Now ...not NOT!!

OP posts:
dizzydixies · 30/04/2010 20:42

all 3 in bed, I shall be going soon too toast for me for tea as couldn't be arsed!!

TS - am pretty sure Penelope was given the old heave ho by family Miamla - twas on my list for DC4 with nn Penny however SIL has just bought a pup and called her Penny

oops re chinese, window cleaner arrived and took my pennies so nae cash to have one delivered!

poppysocks · 30/04/2010 20:53

I'm not even entertaining the thought of potty training until the autumn, once we have a few months without any long car journeys coming up. As much I'm starting to be seduced by the tantalising proposition of burning the nappy bin I keep having to remind myself of that horrible stage of having to take spare clothes wherever you go, constantly asking them whether they need the loo and getting acquainted with far more public loos than you ever wanted to [bleurgh]. Whilst I don't have a problem with bottom wiping of a baby on changing mat, somehow when it's a toddler bending over at you it's a different matter [bleurgh x 10]. miamla - SiL has an age gap the same as yours will be and managed to get DN trained before the baby arrived. Disaster. She used her control of bodily functions to seek attention whenever her mother sat down to feed the baby....

FWIW, I think Annabelle (Annie) is most fab from your list and Beatrice, Matilda and Josephine go best with DS's name.

Nothing of any real interest to report here. DD2 being an absolute pickle at the mo. Really whiney and clingey, which is not like her at all. Wonder whether she might not be feeling well - I've been feeling sick/headachey today so maybe she is too? Naturally though, as soon as DH walked through the door she was full of the joys... Awaiting arrival of BiL tonight and his kids tomorrow for an action packed weekend with 4 under 5s for the next few days . Wish me luck, Ladies.

oopsandbabycoconut · 30/04/2010 20:53

Dizzy - I have to confess that our chinese was paid for by money borrowed from my mum's wages packet from when she last worked for DH. I will have to pay it back before we see her next.

I am off to read in bed as I am on early with DD tomorrow.

dizzydixies · 30/04/2010 20:55

Lordy Poppy - you know where I am if you need a gin dark room to escape to. I can't promise that it will be quiet/child free but you're always welcome
