so work is over till Wed and as I drove home the hail stones started girls arrived home and two of them were crying and as DH was leaving to go to work he informed me he is on until 2am tonight, in 4pm-4am tomorrow and back in at 3pm on Sun - so fecking mych for the bank holiday weekend

afternoon all, Monsters Inc on here instead of the nice walk and dropping in on friends I had planned but after a ridicliously hectic day at work as least I'm at home!!

dizzydixies · 30/04/2010 16:44

thank you all for your congratulations my dad finally phoned last night so I had 41 minutes of him moaning and complaining regards the rest of the family on holiday - apparently news of my pregnancy was (as expected) not well received fuck em, am not surprised at all

QofD - always helpful when someone points out its harder with more DC tell her to behave herself!

lovely book chat, I remember reading Bryson very fondly on my journey in and out of work to Glasgow - people used to be a bit when I was laughing out loud like a loon on the train must try that other fellow someone recommended further up

Hots - having worked in the traffic dept I'm with Oops - get what you can afford - its worth the money to make sure its the right one I promise

DD2 had her forest walk today which it was dry for thank goodness, we've also found out she has a morning place at the local nursery which helps a lot. DD1 came home crying because DD2 has been invited on a sleep over at her friends house - all about the 'not fair' at the moment which I have squished like a bug - DD1 gets far more privilages than DD2 so if she starts down that route she'll be playing a dangerous game. D has so far brought me a toothbrush/toothpaste/ snow white book and wiped banana all over me - good to be home

oopsandbabycoconut · 30/04/2010 16:48

Dizzy - you will never feel at home until someone smears food on you Yay for no work for a few days but DH has to go in.

It is pouring here now just as DH arrived home and promised to play house with DD outside.

Takeaway is the order of the day as I can't be arsed to cooked as I need a nap!

LadyGodawful · 30/04/2010 16:51

Aw dizzy I love how much you love your lovely lot tis true, after a working day even a smear of banana seems like such a gift.

See, tis me.

cyteen · 30/04/2010 16:53

QoD forgot to say earlier, if your MIL says that again just come back with "Thank goodness I have you around to help me! Honestly, I don't know what I'd do without such experienced help on hand". Smile sweetly. Job done

dizzy as I like to say, fuck'em in the ear. Then come over and admire this massive CONGRATULATIONS!!!!! banner I made for you It's made of cake!

LadyGodawful · 30/04/2010 16:55

I'm afraid it only says "CONGRATU" now...

dizzydixies · 30/04/2010 16:57

ah no now I don't like that one as it implies that you ARE Godawful - LadyGardenia please, that was lovely

tis true Oops - too tired to cook here too, wait till they here its left over lasagne from last night there will be outrage

cyteen - thank you, I love a good banner made of cake

speaking of which I haven't baked since the open day - time to get the old oven gloves back on, think I'll bake with DD2 tomorrow when DD1 on her nature trail (in the pissing rain and hail stones) birthday party outing [meep] bet the didn't think they'd be pond dipping too!

MrsMiamla · 30/04/2010 17:02

why does the banner only say 'cong' now?

MrsMiamla · 30/04/2010 17:06

dizz kee meaning to ask.. got any tips about how to stop cakes sticking in the soft silicone cake tins? i haven't tried yet but mum had trouble with hers and i want to try with mine tonight and do better than she did

also, fancy making some muffin types things with dried apricots and raisins, got a recipe to hand or shall i not be so lazy and google for something?

TwilightSurfer · 30/04/2010 17:07

Oops I had my dates down to the DAY. I gave birth to both my girls on the 268th day of baking (this from conception). My last OB was like . I learned how beneficial that was postMC when the scan 8W scan showed the bean only 7W. I put my head in the sand but KNEW at that moment things weren't right. I'd say you're a smart lady and if you need someone else to club a few idiot docs, I'M YOUR LADY!

My mind's all a clutter today. Changed the litter box and for some reason afterwards the whole house smelled of cat pee. Made me so mad. Why is cat pee such a mysterious element AND STINKS SO BAD!! I think the smell is gone now.

Hots we have a Britax Marathon (i think it's a marathon). I cost a fortune back when it was purchased (by ILs) for DD1. It's about end of life (seriously). I can't wait to move Reese into something new. Being broke keeps me from doing so though.

oopsandbabycoconut · 30/04/2010 17:08

I only see a banner with 'c' on it

dizzydixies · 30/04/2010 17:09

did miniMiamla demand half my banner??!? damn these babies and their cravings

I'd rub a touch of oil on the bottom using some kitchen roll or a little flour even to stop it sticking

buckets basic muffin recipe is great for sticking anything into if that helps? will look it out for you

dizzydixies · 30/04/2010 17:11

muffins have a tweak of these

MrsMiamla · 30/04/2010 17:14

wonderful, thanks dizz, i promise to give you some of the credit but only after i've gloated to mum

dizzydixies · 30/04/2010 17:15

lol - tis not my credit to be crown grabby with so carry on and revel in it

how are you doing with the naming game? did you go back to your name thread?

MrsMiamla · 30/04/2010 17:17

yup, i think i put our final list on there, didn't I? cor, like blind leading the blind round here with pg women talking about things they can't remember! damn this pg fog! i'm off to look at the thread now!

dizzydixies · 30/04/2010 17:19

yes you did, sorry - I just went and checked shall give them some consideration later - I have petulant children whinging that they're hungry

MrsMiamla · 30/04/2010 17:19

here you go, this is probably the final list...
they are all yes's for me but dh has got some as a maybe

Anabelle - yes

Antonia - maybe

Arabella - maybe

Aralina - maybe

Ariana - yes

Beatrice - maybe

Eliana - yes

Jemima - maybe.

Matilda - maybe

LadyGardenia · 30/04/2010 17:34

One clear winner

oopsandbabycoconut · 30/04/2010 17:52

DD just said she needed a wee and I said 'and?' and she asked for the potty - then wee'd in it Now she is nappiless and there will be wee on the floor before long.

CaptainCaveman · 30/04/2010 17:53

Lol ladygardenia why would that be?

dizzy your hail has just arrived in Nottingham Hope Monsters Inc served its purpose.

oops prove them wrong by going into labour NOW

Today is O's day - he just sprung a very well annunciated "bye bye" on us , then repeated it several times to make sure we heard.

cyteen I've been pondering a name change too. Not sure who/what I could be though....

hotterpotter · 30/04/2010 18:11

Gee whizz I turn my back for ages 5 minutes and you chat for

On the plus side weekly shop is done as didn't want to have to go to asda on a bank holiday. Thank flip it's payday too as stuff just keeps getting more expensive every week. Last week it was three wines for a tenner; this week it's three for 12 quid but even at that price three bottles of yellowtail shiraz is a bargain

VG I vote for LadyGardenia

Wow cece O is having a good day

Oops I refuse to believe your DD has asked for and done a wee in her potty

Dizzy as cyteen so eloquently put it 'fuck 'em in the ear'. We love you and are v v chuffed about your DS1

oopsandbabycoconut · 30/04/2010 18:19

HP - I wouldn't be [shocked] she just wee'd on the kitchen floor!

hotterpotter · 30/04/2010 18:21

[phew]

DS has just about got that wee comes out of his willy and that poo is 'bleurgh' but I confidently predict we are about a year off potty training

QueenofDreams · 30/04/2010 18:36

I've been meaning to ask about this ladies: S now does one wee in a nappy then wants the nappy off. As soon as he wees he starts tugging at it and moaning. Sometimes takes it off without help. I'm wondering if he's nearing potty training, but he can't say 'wee' yet.
