Starting new thread before we run out of room. Now to link from the old one. Could be interesting

NO!

GoldenSnitch · 13/05/2010 13:02

Seriously though, 2 lots of 20-odd weeks of morning sickness and 2 lots of pre-eclampsia (or at least was heading that way with Catherine) and 2 c-sections are enough!

My FIL is desperate for us to have another though as he has decided that he needs a Grand daughter named Daisy

AmazingBouncingFerret · 13/05/2010 13:07

I'll add a Oh Hell No to that one LaDiDaDi!

My sister has told me in secret that she is 5 weeks pregnant so that enough for me, I can use her little one as an excuse to get all gooey over newborns.

Signed petition too.

Maybe a little bit broody - mostly when she's asleep and the house is tidy though and never first thing in the morning as she has usually been up feeding loads and I am knackered!!! Imogen is our first though and we've always said we would like two if possible. I don't actually see any possibility of it happening until she sleeps better though as at the moment I am not wasting precious sleeping time on anything else!!!

GoldenSnitch · 13/05/2010 17:22

My friend just tweeted about this website...

Free sweets

Claire236 · 13/05/2010 17:24

I'd love another one which has come as a bit of a shock. After 2 rubbish pregnancies, particularly ds2, horrendous birth with ds2 & him being so difficult I lost my mind for a while I really can't believe I'm broody. Won't be having another one though.

I feel so rubbish today. Came on yesterday & period is really heavy, back aches, belly aches. Think I might talk nicely to dh so he does dreamfeed tonight & I'll have a bath & an early night.

Oh no Claire - hope you feel better soon. I always rely on dark chocolate! I am not looking forward to the return of mine. Early night and bath sound like a good idea.

Last night was back to the 'normal' two feeds and 25 minutes to settle at bedtime. I am not looking forward to tonight now as she went straight to sleep - that usually results in multiple wakings/feedings throughout the night for some reason!!! Although I live in hope...

No periods here yet but then I'm still feeding which might be holding them off. Can't remember when they came back with Alex but I think it was quite a while. My plan was to go back on the pill while DH got his Vasectomy sorted but I got myself all worried about taking hormones while feeding and putting on anymore weight when I already feel like a blimp and never got a prescription. Same problem with the implant or coil. Maybe I'll wait until after holiday and think about it again.

Catherine napped for an hour and 45 minutes today! That's more than she's napped in total for ages - definitely for the past 2 days as I've been keeping notes.

And she went down at beditme easily and is still asleep - after last night when she was up every half hour between 7 and 10.30!

Just making the most of it and not getting too excited. It's bound not to last.

Goodnight everyone. Hope it's a good nights sleep for all

BexJ78 · 13/05/2010 23:06

Hi all

Hope you are all Ok and Sparkly, just to echo everyone else, it sounds to me as if you are doing a great job.

In terms of the broody thing, i am not feeling broody, BUT, have told DH that i don't want to wait too long before we start trying for another baby. To my mind, i would rather get all the hard work/sleep deprivation etc out of the way in one go, rather than wait til Anna is a bit older and a bit more independant, and then have to start all over again. Probably a bonkers thing to do, but that's my take on it!

Went out shopping this aft with my friend and her LO, and Anna was not herself at all. Normally, if she whinges when you put her in the pushchair once we start moving she is fine. Not today! She just would not settle unless I was bent down to her level, making funny noises, or i had to pick her up. In fact i ended up carrying her and pushing the pushchair with all the bags on it as it was the only way she was happy. And then she scratched her face on her way back in the car, and it was bleeding. She is terrible for scratching, but mitts just won't work! Poor little thing, she looks as though she has been scrapping with a cat!

Apart from that we are fine. Off home to visit the rellies this weekend so hoping for some good weather so we can go for a walk on the beach!

BexJ78 · 13/05/2010 23:08

Oh and should have said, periods back here this week, but am down to essentially one breast feed per day now. Oh and Lee, I had the coil before i had DD. I know lots of people aren't taken with it, but I loved it and had barely any periods at all;it definitely improved mine!

hendo77 · 14/05/2010 07:08

GS - hope the sleep went well. We had wakings at 9.15, 10.45 (which went on until 12.30!!!!) and 4.30 and quite a few screams in her sleep in between. I am sure it is her teeth as she kept chewing on her fingers, falling asleep then yelping awake because she had poked herself in her mouth. If you took her fingers out of her mouth she screamed like you were trying to murder her. I think she practically had a whole tube of teething gel in the end!!!!

Bex - I agree about not waiting too long, ideally we'd like about 2 years in between, but realise that nature might also have other plans. With the pushchair, does Anna face you? In mine Imogen was facing out and was fine for ages and then started that whinging thing which is really annoying. I finally worked out how to put the car seat on it so she is facing me and that buys me a bit more time. I also nearly always take my baby bjorn just in case she gets really screamy as otherwise I feel like my back is going to break carrying her!!!

hi....bit better here! My period came back when ds was 11 weeks and i was bf....he slept well and thats why apparently. ds has not been in pram carrycot for a while. he got too big, got bored and it made his reflux worse as when i picked him up he was usually sick!!!! he loves his pram now.....usually lays almost flat nut if not sleepy and wants to play i just sit him up and he watches everything around and loves it!!!! He is being a really good boy at moment like he knows Mummy needs a break and to feel like i am coping. someone referred to himas an angel baby yesterday which made me feel good......she has only ever seen him at his 'good' times though!!! he is sleeping 7pm till 4am... dummy plug in then till 6 ish....last night it took a few plug in attempts but thats all i will do and think he gave up. his daily routine is settling and we had a lovely swim yesterday!!!! My friend was having a hard time with her ds so she pinched some of my ds lunch....her little one loved it and slept for a who;le hour after..... she burst into tears and said thank you ......seems i am not the only hormonal one.

ds been on floor playing for 40 mins now happily!!!!!!

dp being distant still but am fighting on myself and feel stronger today. whatever happens whether i am on my own or not i will be ok. taking ds to coast tomorrow in my own as dd is with her daddy. i cant wait!!!!

LaDiDaDi · 14/05/2010 11:14

I am naughty pram mummy . Ds has never been in the lovely carrycot top bit that we bought to fit on the Quniiy Buzz for dd, in fact he's only ever been in the car seat that attaches to the wheels. I will have to ebay the carrycot bit as it's in excellent condition still!

Sleep still rubbish here but some nights I feel less tired with it than others for no particular reason.

LaDiDaDi · 14/05/2010 11:16

Meant to add that ds has been in his sling much more than dd was, I only had a coorie pouch sling for her and she got fed up of it pretty quickly but ds loves being in the close sling, it's great if I'm out for short trips with both of them.

Kingsroadie · 14/05/2010 13:14

Hi everyone, almost the weekend - yay!

I too have ignored the "lay them flat untl 6 months" guidelines. Admittedly it's because Persephone couldn't lie properly in her carry cot with her cast. So I had to swap to the "grown up" bugaboo (with bucket seat Lee!) at about 16/17 weeks after struggling for a week. She lies flat and has a couple of rolled up blankets under her legs to support them. (Much easier now cast is ony to her knees). And she loves being able to look around it seems - sometimes I even put her all the way up when we're sitting down - sure am not supposed to do that - but whatever...

She is still sleeping amazingly well - 6:45/7-6:30/45ish. She woke at 5:45 today and I let her oan a bit and then went in to find her eyes shut and almost moaning in her sleep - so poppd her dummy in and gave her her baba (blanket) and she went off for another hour. Have had to move her cot down a level as she is trying to move lots...

Sorry - don't want to sound smug - but lots of other horrid things going on instead! . Have physio tmrw and am very scared and dreading the intense pain. Will speak to physio about it I think!

Sparkly hope you're okay...

Also P wants to feed herself a lot so have to give her a spoon, load it up and she mainly gets it to her mouth - bit early at 5 1/2 months though! messy too...

BexJ78 · 14/05/2010 13:50

Lee, we're off to Scarborough. It's my home town and lots of my family still live there. Bet it won't be sunny though! :0

Anna is in a forward facing maclaren and has been for quite a while now. she is pretty strong in her body so i wasn't too worried about moving her out of the pram. Plus, the pram was a nightmare to fold etc, and was quite big. The pushchair is so much easier, it's just a shame that you can't also have it facing backwards.

Anyway, better get on. Still got loads to do before we set off at 4pm and sitting on here isn't going to get it done! Hope you all have a great weekend.
xxx

sparklycheerymummy · 14/05/2010 14:19

oooh Bex I spend a lot of time in Scarborough as dps mother lives there!!! Might be there myself tomorrow....its there or whitby with ds i think!!

GoldenSnitch · 14/05/2010 15:56

I've just started zipping up the P&T to it's first 'upright' setting when I take Catherine out rather than putting her in the cocoon. It's less upright than her bouncy chair so I can't see it doing her any harm and stops her getting quite so bored. She's been in the doubles seat twice too but she does end up looking a bit squashed up and diagonal in that so I think I'll leave it as long as possible before we start using that more often.

It's really quiet here this afternoon. MIL phoned this morning to ask if she could take Alex to my SIL's after lunch. They're doing some planting in her garden and his cousin will be there so he's going to have a whale of a time. Then, she asked if she could have him for a sleepover too!! So I took him to soft play this morning, fed him there then brought him home and packed him a bag and he's gone till the morning! Catherine's gone down for a nap too so for the first time in a very long time I can Mumsnet guilt free

Got my Mumsnet Tsarina card today too. Trying to work out who I can flash it at. They suggest you can ask for things like press screenings of movies etc! Reminds me of my old uni days when I worked for the campus newspaper. It even says on the back "She is very influential - so be nice to her!" Not sure I'm bolshy enough these days though!

sparklycheerymummy · 14/05/2010 18:43

hi whats a tsarina card ..... am i missing something exciting xx

hendo77 · 14/05/2010 19:22

Lee - glad to be of assistance!!!

I seriously hope this is teething, else I'm in for a whole lot more trouble soon. Imogen will not go to sleep - fully fed definitely, is chewing fingers then half falls asleep then pokes herself in her mouth and wakes up again and starts thrashing about any crying again. Ruuuubbbiiiissssshhh.

Pushchairs - I didn't even know there was a 'lay them flat until 6 months' rule! I have the maclaren which is suitable from birth - I did use the carrycot on it for the first 3/4 months, then just used the pushchair bit. I usually have it in the mid-recline position but have had her sitting fully upright on occaision (is that bad?!?). It faces outwards though and she's been a bit whingy if I'm using it for a long time, so I've started putting the carseat on it which means she's then facing me and that works better at the moment. Imogen sleeps on her tummy though (I know, I know - bad mother) so I don't think she particularly likes being laid flat on her back for sleeping ever, she always thinks its playtime!

GoldenSnitch · 14/05/2010 19:44

I'm the Mumsnet Tsarina for my local area sparkly. I'm supposed to keep my local site up to date and neat and tidy and make sure someone's answering any posts that are made on there. I get a card to flash at people, I guess so I can ask to review things on behalf of Mumsnet.

Have you tried some Bonjela hendo? Might help Imogen drop off to sleep if her gums don't hurt so much??
