Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

Thanks for reminding me Lua - I also meant to say EYM that I doubt your age has got much to do with milk quantity - I'm a very old bag and should know. Does William co-sleep or sleep very close to you? I was feeding ds more than I needed to at night because I was mistaking his restlessness/windiness for hunger - and so was he. Now I try to alleviate the wind before I do anything else and he's back to 2 feeds a night. Also had a spell of feeding him sitting up to try to make myself concentrate on giving him a good feed. Mind you last night it was back to lying down feeding again - too knackered after my champagne (bad, naughty mummy etc)

I'm too tired to keep up with the thread despite wanting too.

DS has jabs yesterday and was unhappy all day. He is fine now and didn't really get a temperature at all.

I tried a dummy too despite not being to 'in' to them and DS spat it out in disgust - nothing will do other than my boobs - typical bloke.

Coop and Lynny how can you do your nappy washing every 2 days? I would run out of nappies. DS uses 10 nappies everyday and they are sopping wet and boosted. He has Tots bots and Snugglenaps. He is a peeing machine. I have used my minki pockets but they aren't absorbant enough with the fillers. The canoodles are really good though. Anyone else have a major wetter baby?

DS was 11 pounds yesterday and after catching up from his really low birth weight he is now band on the 25th percentile every time.

Hope everyone is ok

sfxmum · 12/08/2005 17:54

hello all
jonahb - dont think its a direct link but lots of literature described what goes wrong when one has pcos and it seems to me that hormones which inhibit ovulation are really not helping. am keen on exercise and diet instead, besides these help with depression which tends to be a risk

tea- apparently dd share birthday with yours, they grow so fast and sometimes not fast enough

bedtimes, goodness i seem bohemiam by comparison dd has bath much later she is sleeping well realy cant complain

dummies- i am afraid both sets of granparents have drummed into us from early age that they are just not the thing, never even occured to me. but she is a quiet baby so...

coop-ive seen those shade a babe's advertised in a baby mag.they do look great and im very tempted to get one.i'll see how i go with the canopy ive just bought-if ds still grizzles in the sun,i'll get one.
btw...it was me who won the sweepstake.think katz is sending me some vouchers,as i didnt want the chocs to spoil the diet.

hi nogger-great news on your dd's sleeping routine.ds also sleeps through the night.

welshie-glad you enjoyed your night out last night.we went out on saturday and i had my first tia maria(and a few more!) since before i got pg,and thoroughly enjoyed them!!

hi pink-glad the jabs went ok.ds has his first lot on tuesday.its hard to believe he's 8 weeks already.

teabelly · 12/08/2005 22:29

Hi girlies, back again

Mum has both kiddies tonight, hurrah! so dh and I can look forward to a full night's sleep - can't wait!

Just to go back to finishing my last post properly, he he he...

Gina - goddess in my house - don't get me wrong don't follow her religiously but after having ds it was implementing afew of her ideas that made me feel sane again and the one in control, rather than the baby, ha ha ha! But like Jonah, I read her book then followed the advice that made most sense to me and fitted in with my routines. Have done similar with dd, although being female she has decided she's gonna have the final word in the argument and is religiously following her own routine Luckily for her I approve so we're coasting along fine at the mo, but may revisit gina if she deviates too much Dummies...dd is a very very sucky baby - definitely added to the reasons I gave up bf so so early - someone mentioned vampires earlier - mine has no problem with the sun...and apparently had no problem with blood either , I've found that giving her a dummy is a godsend and whilst she's happy I'm happy , but I was quite against them with ds, it's amazing how these little ones can change your mind!

SFX - 2nd June - definitely a good day eh - but not as productive as the 22nd it would appear!

Pink - hiya

Bubb - go girl on the drink front! Actually rather to work out that dh and I have been averaging 4 bottles of wine a week since dd made her appearance...if I switched to spirits it would be less points and may aid my weightwatchers efforts!

Right better go now before I fall asleep...he he he, hope to take even more advantage of the kids being away for the night...

welshmum · 13/08/2005 08:02

Tea - you're an old slapper I'm glad to think that at least one of the June mummies is getting some as there's nothing going on here. Very jealous of your mum having both babies - she sounds like a complete treasure. We haven't had a night away together for more than 3 years - can't see it happening for another 2 or 3 at least either. Don't mind too much really but I wouldn't mind a shag a bit sooner than that

Sounds like someone else is getting some...cheese and wine I mean

Blimey, I can't keep up at the minute. Am reading every day but I am usually feeling quite brainless by the time I actually sit down to post, and then can't string a few words together coherently.

Is anyone else who is breastfeeding showing signs of getting their period? DS2 has only had one bottle of formula (this morning) but I started spotting yesterday. Very strange.

I am so of babies sleeping through! DS2 is waking up at least twice a night at the moment. He is quite efficient I suppose, feeds and goes back to sleep within about 15 minutes but even so, I'm still awake!

Sounds like the people who do Gina are very sensible, just taking the bits they like and leaving the rest. I'm the sort of person who follows recipes to the letter though so thought I would have to do the same with her book and stressed myself out completely with it with DS1. The short nap/long nap/short nap routine does seem logical - I really must start to structure DS2's days a bit more like this.

Good to see you again Scraggy and Pink.

Hope things are ok with you Megi.

Coop, how's the potty training going? DS1 was 2 years 9 months when we finally tackled it so your DD is doing very well to be doing it so early.

All is quiet here as DH has taken DS1 out swimming. I suppose I should make the most of the time and go and make tea but I just can't be bothered

bubbaloo · 13/08/2005 17:23

lynny-sounds like your'e having soooooo much fun there-good for you.

hi mrs w .

we've had a very busy day.went into town shopping this morning and on the way back we bought a car.im so excited and we don't even collect it untill monday week and i wont even be driving it!
it's a picasso, which is so much bigger than our rover with a lovely big boot that'll hold evcerything when we go away in a couple of weeks.

all bought some condoms today-havent bought them for about 8 years and couldn't believe how expensive they were.i was really shocked.

thanks lynny!

funny thing was we did the deal in the showroom and they gave us a load of gumph to take home and read.when we got in i had a quick look through it and there's a flyer in there stating exactly what you said about the spare and that you can pay for the locking device.the salesman must've forgotten to disclose that bit.
i love the little trays.we took it for a test drive and oscar and i were in the back so had a really good nose about.think the trays are the best bit of the car.we even put the travel system in there and there was still room for a couple of suitcases,so ideal for when we go away-i cant wait.

bubbaloo · 13/08/2005 18:02

Evening all,

Nogger, I?m so of your sleeping DD

Oh g-d, please don?t any of you go thinking I have got a perfect Gina baby! I really haven?t, and we have tears and tantrums along with the rest of you (from DS, not me), but it helps me to have something to work to. He v. rarely will go to sleep at 7pm as he seems to feel that this is his awake time and kicks off good and proper if I try and persuade him otherwise. The slight silver lining to this is that he will (eventually) fall asleep by himself in his moses basket, without DH or myself having to spend hours rocking him to sleep and getting really tired and irritable ourselves. Still, it nearly kills me, hearing him fret until he goes off....

Bubb, well, that?s at least one step in the right direction . Now all you?ve got to do is use them .

JonahB · 13/08/2005 21:50

OMG!! Bubb, just realised from your last message you've already been there and bought the t-shirt!! Respect to you girl!!!

bubbaloo · 13/08/2005 21:54

lynny-i saw the little cart in the boot.the salesman said he uses his as a toy box,for when he goes out.
didnt notice the under floor storage at the back but im sure we'll have fun finding all these nooks and crannies.
the colour is called glacier blue, which is a metallic turquoise(sort of).what colour is yours? it was the colour that sold it for me and the fact it was a diesel for dh.
going to phone them tomorrow about having that lock on the spare done-hope it's not too much!

sorry to bore the rest of you but im really excited.

bubbaloo · 13/08/2005 21:57

dh is also after some tonight.he keeps telling me that we bought a big box today so we might aswell try them out.

your pancakes sound delicious!

mandymac · 14/08/2005 11:19

Bubbaloo - How exciting about your new car - we upgraded from a really old escort to a rover before dd arrived and that was exciting enough for us, but we do only have dd, so don't need quite so much luggage space now.

Lynny - Ha Ha Ha re: cheese & wine . I'm still breastfeeding, but am having a (small) glass of redwine most evenings, thought it was better than getting stressed and fed up with breastfeeding.

Ladies there must be something in the water - are we all getting 'back in the saddle' so to speak?! .

Mrs W - no sign of the painters yet, I'd forgotten all about them.

BTW has anyone else tried Harvey Karps Baby Bliss book? I got it yesterday and managed to swaddle and shush dd out of an overtired crying fit last night, kept her swaddled all night and she was a lot easier to put down after middle of the night and early morning feeds too! I'll keep you posted, has anyone else tried it?

Hi to Pink, Teabelly, Jonah, SFX, Welshmum, Nogger and Cooperoo - phew, apologies if I forgot anyone!
