if I had the money to buy that I wouldn't care a jot about the windolene bill I imagine

you shall have the upstairs sitting/bedroom right next to the library natch - shall inspire you to write your best selling novel

oh and anyway, I shall have Sazz my personal accountant to cookthebooks ensure its all paid for properly

cyteen · 11/03/2010 17:00

Bottomcraig

You could employ me as your guard dog dizz

dizzydixies · 11/03/2010 17:02

you're right cyteen, another tick on the 'cons' list - I'm all about the boobs me, my bot is ok so I can't live anywhere called bottomcraig

thank goodness I have you lot to talk me out of it, I've had the agents on the phone already

GladioliBuckets · 11/03/2010 17:22

Is there nothing eyecatching at Titlochrie?

RedLentil · 11/03/2010 17:41

Bottomcraig I couldn't buy it because it has that weird crenellated pattern thing going on on the corners which is a dodgy choice sported by lots of the new houses hereabouts.

I might buy this with the change in my pockets as a bolt hole for my friends though.

Ds has a headache and looks awful so he and dd1 are watching tv. DD2 is on calpol as well because she has a pain somewhere-I just can't track it down.

She totally played dd1 earlier though. After knocking over Maud's towers about 20 times, she was being blocked too well so she ran up with her arms out for a cuddle and once she was in, reached and and swiped another one down. A pure rogue.

dizzydixies · 11/03/2010 18:17

crenellated pattern?! am obviously not up on builders lingo sorry

fecking hell I'll be glad to get back to work at this rate on Sun, D is being a tad trying with the mummy mummy mummy mummy mummy in various degrees of screeching/whinging and shouting

DD1 has at least come home with a report saying that her reading is at P4 level even though she is only in P2 QofD I know the Hungry catepillar is frustrating you somewhat at the moment but 4 millions times paid off for us

DD2 currently riding about on the hobby horse which is a boy horse called Jack today (normally Ted) with her sunglasses on

D in wellies and trying to get her coat on, I don't think she particularly wants to be about me either at the minute

dizzydixies · 11/03/2010 18:19

Red - you can tell you're Southern Ireland, it that was a NI estate agents all the houses would be custard yellow

GladioliBuckets · 11/03/2010 18:23

Hurrah the language is v slowly showing signs of moving on! We had another song today: flapping of alternate hands and chanting wo wo wo wo = Wheels on the bus! And I think the sign for 'please' is happening too.

Man we are so broke. Spent £100 on car today but it needs another £500odd spent on it to get through MOT in July - meep. We are still debating getting rid of DH's granny car but mine is the family-sized one so needs the money spent on it. Plus we only have one key for it and I would be much happier if we paid the £70 to get a new key made/programmed. At least DH is getting a smallish bonus this year, will be gone in a flash though!

dizzydixies · 11/03/2010 18:33

buckets, was just about to say the same thing

we've had the following so far all used in the correct moment

its alright
get back
no
mine
mummy
daddy
doggie
and various other pissed off exclamations at various points throughout the day

for example DD1 hurt her sore finger so was crying at which point D sat thumping patting her back telling her 'its alright' over and over again

alittlebitshy · 11/03/2010 18:40

dizzy yay for fab readers. apparently my dd has the reading age of a 10 year 2 month old (bit precise!) and the spelling age of a 10 yr 3 month old. lol. not sure how they work it out.

dizzydixies · 11/03/2010 18:49

ooh well done, I think we're a touch more lax up here with all that but am still chuffed to bits because she enjoys reading, laps it up and came home with a certificate today which has just proven it. she's started writing short stories too which is great, spelling not so great but its all done in the way a 6yr old would spell a word imo - then again, I'm certainly no teacher and probably have very rose tinted PFB glasses on

oopsandbabycoconut · 11/03/2010 18:55

Buckets - DD still signs even though she has the words. I think she knows that a begging pleeeeaaassssee with the sign make us more likely to say yes as it is way cuter than just bog standard please. More is also one still used as she can sign when her mouth is stuffed full.

Dizzy - Well done to DDs. I love reading and DD loves us reading to her so hopefully she will inherit my love of books.

DD and DH upstair attempting puzzles but DD keeps running off with the bits to feed them.

GladioliBuckets · 11/03/2010 19:39

Oh and DS1 has learnt the vital social lesson of pretending to go along with things for other people's benefit. Which is such a good illustration of Aspergers, a skill that everyone else takes for granted but that they see as stooping to our illogical phoney level. He goes to a social communication 'club' at school which he liked at first because there were biscuits but now the biscuits have gone and 'we have to talk about feelings.' He goes along with it to please the lady in charge but apparently always shouts back to his teacher "I'm only pretending, I hate it really."

RedLentil · 11/03/2010 21:10

at SmallBucket. No-one should give up on a biscuit opportunity without a protest.

Albs, when I read your post about your dd1's reading age, I thought the post was by Oops. Now I know mini-Oops is a brilliant talker but a reading age of over 10 had me in

When DS was off school at Christmas in the snow we had a mess about with a reading-age test.

He was reading about 'a sharp-eyed seagull' today and loving all the details.

He started school at 5.6, so it's interesting to see how his progress relates to the English system.

Dizzy - I think he would love a penpal. I'll mention it to him tomorrow.

as long as he's prepared to get short stories about Princess Peach and Daisy from Mario Brothers they should get on just fine

oopsandbabycoconut · 11/03/2010 21:49

Sazz - I just called you name on the other thread!!

Have just finished making 3 dozen pink, blue and yellow fairycakes for a baby 'shower' tomorrow - it's all a little too sweet.

Night all sleep well, I going to drown my self in a warm bath, cuppa tea and large chocolateless chocolate chip cookie.

dizzydixies · 11/03/2010 22:08

Red, have just told DH about the penpal idea which he thought was lovely but now he would like to know F's age/prospects and intentions

Sazz - DH got a few irons in the fire for the 2nd apparently - watch this space

night all, am pooped and dh on ANOTHER stupidly long day

My dreamy little blond boy would wet his pants if he saw MrDizz in full riot gear. Is that the right answer?

RedLentil · 11/03/2010 22:28

Where is Hots? Sazzles have you kidnapped /starved her?

RedLentil · 11/03/2010 22:30

Here I am If only Sazz had been starving me I might be a size 12 by now...

Got some likely contenders in a 14 though in case I just happen to be in the West Country on my birthday
