Afternoon all

Have been trying to match the paint in our back room so DH could repaint one wall now the builders have finished patching the plaster it has proved impossible it's a cappuccino/chocolate/mushroom/hazelnut crumble shade of BROWN - yuck. SO with my unable to match he is going to lovingly repaint it glorious white this weekend so we can do the grand bedroom swap once the new floors are down next week.

scan went well and LO is sitting with her backside on my right hip, feet on my left hip and head in my stomach - like she is in a lazyboy chair watching telly! It made the consultant laugh, I had a poor medical student (only been on the job 2 days)poke my belly and have to tell the consultant baby's postition and how I was measuring. She assured me I have until 37 weeks for her turn around and only 3% of babies stay breach from 28 weeks. So we have aaaages yet. I had an arguement with the thyroid bloke about BF and meds - I won!

Sambo Maybe he will come round once F is out of the 'baby zone'. You've only recently got more settled with sleep, skin, feeding etc so given a single track male imagination he might just see a DC2 as twice the hassle. So if you promised to keep your legs crossed til Christmas, F would be at preschool by the time a DC2 arrived - this would let you both enjoy both kids more. Two kids at home 24hrs is v daunting, this way you can guarantee that doesn't happen (unless he did go for the home ed idea LOL.) Try that pitch and see if you can't get a maybe, worked for me.

GladioliBuckets · 05/03/2010 16:33

Also would he be expected to go and get a temp job when you were on ML? Maybe that is frightening him too.

GladioliBuckets · 05/03/2010 18:15

Albs Is your DD coming to Bristol on 4th April? I've told DH he and DS1 can go to @Bristol and art museum while me and Squirt are at the zoo. My DD says she will choose which depending on whether your DD is coming .

TwilightSurfer · 05/03/2010 18:22

Oops Hectorita sounds like she's taken a page from ReeseyBears book. That's how Reese hung out for a long while. As for the swimming/dunking bit, I think it did the opposite affect on me than most normal ladies. I stayed on all fours for hours and hours. I wished I'd one what you're doing by seeing the chiro. That might have helped. Having a hands-on midwife might have helped too. There's so many things they can do. I'm sure you know all that. In the end the ONE thing that I SHOULD NOT HAVE DONE was have my waters broken manually. Reese was almost in position but that one singular factor made it impossible for her to turn any more. She was so close too.

As for private school, I attended public from 5yrs until 12yrs then private from 12yrs until 18yrs. All of my collegiate education was in state institutions which is basically public although you do have to pass their base requirements to enter. I'm no PhD carrier but I'd say I had a good combo of educational experiences. My long time stance on the issue is it doesn't matter where you go as long as you as a parent are involved.

What is it with all the beautiful new hairdos?? Mine new do doesn't flatter me like Sazzles and VGs flatter them. I think I need a beauty makeover.

No, I ma being a naught stop out and staying 2 nights with the lovely kind oops so I can gte to the church zoo in time in my glad rags. not left ds overnight yet so I will be expressing whenever i am chez oops.

pertelote · 05/03/2010 21:09

Ooh, Albs what's the plan for the 3rd? What time are we meeting? I ought to book train tickets, we are making a weekend of it too as we have some friends who invited us to name a weekend to visit.

TS I too am of the gorgeous new hairdos. I am so badly in need of one but in five years of living in London have not managed to acquire a hairdresser - when I had it done regularly any old place could chop an inch off but now after a year or so it needs rather more serious attention...

Sambo no words of wisdom, but for you. Very unfair for you to be in this position.

Hullo everyone else. We have had a proper park afternoon for the first time this year and I am knackered after running round after DD - taste of months to come I guess...

dizzydixies · 05/03/2010 21:19

alittlebitshy · 05/03/2010 21:25

But, erm, I am in for the whole thing so i am not sure if i am the best person plan gawping spectating with. I think oops is planning to watch etc.

I am going down on the friday afternoon and leaving sunday afternoon so am up for anything outside of the wedding itself.

dizzydixies · 05/03/2010 21:30

good grief, both wrong

oops, glad to hear all settled down again and you are calmer re names etc

Pert - day in park sounds lovely, still a touch too cold and the amount of coughs/snotterd going on here is unbelievable but once that passes we'll be good to go

Sambo - I've nothing else to offer ontop of what the others say, sorry

cyteen - great news about the job for you and your colleague

hi all else

alittlebitshy · 05/03/2010 21:32

ooh i feel so guilty that i am ignoring ds's pleas for the park. I keep saying it is too wet/muddy/cold. bad mummy. i must must do it soon.

dizzydixies · 05/03/2010 21:35

ALBS I saw your FB re Eurodisney - we have been desperately saving airmiles to pay to go before DD1 turns 7 in July but when I phoned yesterday for a quote I realised it wasn't going to happen we were hoping for them all to go free and DD3 on the plane as an infant but looks like that won't happen this year

there is a FAB thread about it so I'll track it down and link it for you

dizzydixies · 05/03/2010 21:37

Hello lovely girls

Got half an eye on Being Human (what is it about vampires...) and drinking wine, Happy Friday

Wish I could come to Bristol but it is my birthday (41 ) so hoping DH has some treats instore...

oopsandbabycoconut · 05/03/2010 21:52

Hi Ts

I am off to bed - it took an hour to settle DD tonight, a week of her falling alseep in our bed then cot and 3 days of co-sleeping she was reluctant to go back to her own bed so yelled and told the enitre neighbourhood that 'mummy bed nice, love mummy bed more' she then lay whimpering for 25minutes telling out every now and then and making me feel truely guilty. But she is fine and sleeping like a log. DH painting and I'm going to read for a little while.

HAve a good weekend everyone.

dizzydixies · 05/03/2010 21:59

Hots - are you on FB?

RedLentil · 05/03/2010 22:06

Oops - she sounds so lovely.

DD2 was a peach at the beach today, and kept doing her funny 'delighted' walk where she sticks her bum forward and teeters along for a bit.

She recognised the cadbury's colour on the chocolate fingers' packet in the car, and kept shouting 'Bic-Bic incar. IN MOWF' with much wailing until I went to fetch them.

She is so adorable at the moment, and being at a v. different stage in the whole family thing, I'm finding it hard to imagine this is my last time with a baby this age. I'm not broody, just bidding farewell to a very lovely bit of life.

ALBS- I had been meaning to say, great news on dd1 getting into the school she wanted. Being where you are happy is so important.

The sun shone on West Cork today, and I'm really looking forward to the dry weekend.

pertelote · 05/03/2010 22:06

Sympathy Oops, DD has been taking a while to fall asleep all this week. No obvious reason... even today after all the activity It is lovely (from a distance ) that P can tell you what's up though... BTW DH says helpfully that as P is named after the first great Italian opera, if you plan for Hector to be her only sibling you should call her Tosca (the last great etc). I suspect some of the suggestions further up this thread may be more useful!

Of course you are a proper guest Albs, no need to be ! Tis only right. But do you know the timings for the day? Who's on Team Gawp, Oops, Buckets, Sazz...?

pertelote · 05/03/2010 22:11

Red that sounds like a lovely day . I love the very logical use of 'in mouth' for eating, DD says it too.
