Afternoon ladies.
Hope everyone's ok.
mos I was just waffling earlier and trying to think of all options. I really do not envy you with this tough decision.

Nothing exciting happening here. Same old actually.
Dp has finished his course now and is back home but is working tonight, tomorrow night and sunday night.
He's playing trucks with jacob now while Luke sleeps and I'm procrastinating from housework

swampster · 30/04/2010 15:25

Hello lovely ladies . I am 'working from home' today.

I've emailed you event details, MOS. Try clearing your computer's cache and browsing history to see if it fixes FB.

Dinky, obviously you must keep the LK Bennetts as a reminder to you of the perils of too much champagne!

elkiedee · 30/04/2010 23:42

Hi all

MOS and Snowmama, sorry to hear about your problems - good luck with sorting all the details of the return to the UK though MOS.

Pempe · 01/05/2010 07:53

Hello everybody, I lapsed again I'm afraid.
Just popping on to see if there's a meet up planned any time soon - I'm making a fairly rare visit back to the UK in June and wondered if they would coincide.

Also - news - I'm 6 weeks pregnant. Trying not to get too excited, as it's so early still, but all being well, due date is 23rd December.

Do you plan meet ups on Facebook? Are there any details there?

Hope you're all well

dinkystinky · 01/05/2010 08:32

Hi Elkie and Pempe. Wow Pempe - you're the first one on our thread to be sprogging up again as far as I know - congratulations! Hope you're finding the pregnancy ok and life not too exhausting with work and a little one to deal with.... Think Swampster had suggested a sarf london meet up at some fair thingy in July (details on FB page I think) but sure we can squeeze in a mini meet up in June while you're over too. In fact am off work with both boys on 11th and 14th June (though DS1 in nursery in the mornings) if anyone fancies catching up then...

Swampster - LK Bennett dress got thumbs up from DH and DS1 (mummy you look nice) and Danny (who refrained from snotting all over it - ultimate Danny accolade) so will be keeping it.

swampy thanks for that FB info.

Pempe congratulations How long are you over for in June? I'm back to the UK from 29th June til at least September, maybe longer, would be great to meet up.
How are things over there? Have been watching sky news and seen what is going on there with the economy etc and hope you are not affected.

TulipsInTheSunshine · 01/05/2010 13:19

Congratulations Pempe

Can't believe it's taken us 15 months to get a baby sibling for the fab feb babies! Best of luck with the pregnancy Pempe, wow... a christmas baby!

(on a tangent... had a dream last night i was pregnant and didn't want to be at all... was so real i had to pat my tummy when i woke! It's funny, after years of baby making and being glad when i was preg it's weird feeling being so horrified at the thought of having another!)

SilveryMoon · 01/05/2010 13:21

Pempe congratulations

katieblirdsnest · 01/05/2010 19:52

well done pempe, brilliant news.

littlesez · 01/05/2010 20:51

yay! pempe wooooo I've been mithering for months for another baby on this thread Congratulations xxx

swampy did you buy my last like a tiger itti? am confused

giggles ....... am total nappy geek!

My and hubby will be fine am sure, I just find it hard with him working soooooo much and then when i do see him im like "do this do that! " he says I boss him around I think its as soon as i have an extra pair of hands I want to make the most of it!

bbl x

dinkystinky · 01/05/2010 21:04

Littlesez - did i see on facebook that you've joined a, gasp, netmums FB group?? Its hard when DH works long/difficult hours - question for you: does DH try to spend quality time with you and Izzy (and be hands on with Izzy when he's about the place)? If he does, let him do things his way and step back abit - or suggest it might be helpful if he could help you by doing x y or z in a nonperemptory way (which was my issue with DH after DS1) and it will work miracles.

LittleMissNorty · 01/05/2010 21:52

Congratulations Pempe . I also wondered who would be the first....DD was 12 months when I found out about DS and I was the 3rd on my PN thread!

for those of you with arses as (ex-)H's. Snowmama - you sound like you are being very reasonable.

LittleMissNorty · 01/05/2010 21:54

Littlesez - agree with Dinky. I made bath and bedtime DHs terrority with DD and they have their own fab routine now. I really bit my tongue with regards to "hints and tips" and let him find out the hard way (and realise I was right all along!)

littlesez · 01/05/2010 22:17

tee hee, ok dinky here is my defense! I do not post on netmums but i do go on the local boards and do meet ups! Am I going to get kicked out of mumsnet!

re hubby, I do let him get on with Izzy stuff,he is hands on yes although he is rarely home for bath/bed time But I just tend to bark orders about housey stuff and other trivial things which drive me potty. Or say pass me x,y,z and a billion other letters! I think I should have a word with myself really. Now i'm doing more at work though I have hired a cleaner and a gardener for 2 hours each fortnightly, because I just can't keep on top of things hoping that ill help.

He is a really good dad amazing actually I think we are both very grumpy! ANd quality time doesnt really happen for us so maybe nanna babysitting duties could be called upon now izzy's sleeping bit better.

Thanks guys. xxx

swampster · 01/05/2010 22:57

Oooooh CONGRATULATIONS Pempe! You will have a lovely age gap and you will almost be back to some sort of semblance of normal in about... two-and-a-half years' time!

It was just a random nappy, littlesez, with a suitably inscrutable name. It could just as well have been a dalmation blueberry or watermelon bedbug. I was just comfortable smug in the knowledge that almost nobody would know what the hell I was going on about. Except you. (And PSL, aka MrsY and spotty)

HELP SOMEONE SAVE ME FROM THESE KIDS

I'm having a very shouty day already.
It's pissing it down and I don't have a rain cover for the pushchair

TulipsInTheSunshine · 02/05/2010 10:52

just go out anyway... a bit of rain won't melt them and it sounds like you all need to get out for a wee while none of mine have ever tolerated the rain cover and they didn't ever suffer for getting a bit damp

I'm going out tonight some of my frineds were heading out and between them and dp they've convinced me to shift my arse and join them.... apparently we're going clubbing have offered to drive as i drink so rarely i really can't be bothered with getting drunk and it saves us lurking around for a taxi at 3am.

SilveryMoon · 02/05/2010 11:33

Tulips have a wonderful evening out. You def deserve to let your hair down a bit.

We went to tesco and i held the umberella over them so not too bad, but I ended up really yelling at ds1 because he kept saying "look mummy, it's raining. It's raining mummy" over and over and over and OMG

All having lunch now, then we'll sit and read some stories, then they're going for a nap whether they want to or not

TulipsInTheSunshine · 02/05/2010 11:38

wish mine still napped

SilveryMoon · 02/05/2010 11:43

mine normally don't.
I can't even get Luke to nap these days, but it's a case of they will have to or I may kill them

TulipsInTheSunshine · 02/05/2010 12:03

same here... A naps for 2 hours some days and not at all others... both the older two were the same at this age... dd never napped again but ds1 started again at 2 but dropped them last summer. I'm hoping A will do the same

hope you bought earplugs while you were out

SilveryMoon · 02/05/2010 12:19

1 down (Jacob) 1 to go

TulipsInTheSunshine · 02/05/2010 12:45

{{{{{{{{sleepy vibes}}}}}}}}

A is dancing around his playpen giggling so don't think he'll be napping any time soon

Pempe · 02/05/2010 13:57

Thanks everyone for the congratulations, it's all very strange, I want to be excited but am not letting myself be yet. But my god, I'm big and very very obviously showing already (at 6 weeks?!?), people are asking me if I'm pregnant. I'm very surprised that I'm the first from the group, I assumed some of you would be well on your way now. (no one specific, you know what I mean).

Re trip back to the UK - haven't booked a flight yet, it all depends on when my sister's baby arrives (due 1st June). She's having a scan on Tuesday and should find out then if she's going to need a CS (possible low lying placenta and breach). Likely to be back from about 5th to 20th, so it looks like it won't tie in with you MOS, unfortunately.

Harry's asleep - looks like I'm lucky with his naps, he has an hour in the morning and at least an hour in the afternoon. It's when I dash around like a mentalist trying to get the house looking reasonably tidy and get dinner made. DH is very very rarely home now, works all day every day and is at physiotherapy in the evenings, so I'm a bit frazzled. He's promised 2 days of familyness next weekend though, and I will kill him if he doesn't stick to it.

dinkystinky · 02/05/2010 14:57

Pempe - I found the first 10 weeks of both my pregnancies really tiring and then it got better. So hang on in there - you'll find more energy soon. Could you enlist some help with housework or H if you need it while DH is so busy - or just let things slide for abit until you start to feel better?

Danny a 2 naps a day boy too - trying to cut his morning one down during the week so he has a longer one at lunchtime but left to his own devices he'd have an hour and a bit in the morning and an hour at lunchtime.

Hope the kids sleep and this afternoon is better for you SilveryMoon. We took DS1 and Danny swimming to the local pool - which was so rammed we had to wait for the next session - I think everyones kids are going abit stir crazy in the rain. Have an exciting afternoon of watching Cars DVD ahead of us...
