This is mad Faith slept last night from 5.30pm - 4.45am, then went back to bed this morning at 7am & I had to wake her at 8.40am for school run. She then went back to bed at 9.30am & is still sleeping, its 12.55pm!!! She must of been really tired after all that lack of sleep she had. Ive been running upstairs to her room, just to check she is ok lol

HappyTangerine · 26/04/2010 12:29

Ruby and littlepea Wow on the sleep-long may it continue. Flad the spots are scabbing over - Twinkle how are your two?

v v v grouchy Joseph here today, furiously teething on anything (lift the flap books are getting a right battering) so I reckon another tooth here soon. Rash-one minute seems better, next minute worse. I have a theory that it's his apricot porridge-he has a tendancy to smear it all over his face so it may be having a facial scrub effect. Am just giving him milk today to see if we can pinpoint cause.

Fidelma Have ordered suncream online, thanks for that.

Taking it easy today as pollen is triggering hay gfever which in turn is playing havoc with my asthma so nice relaxing day is in order in lovely weather. x

rubyslippers · 26/04/2010 12:31

yum @ your cooking fidelma

sounds like Faith is catching up on her sleep now - hopefully she is over the worst now

Ruby went from 10.30 pm to 5.30 am which is fabbola

now, i need to re-learn how to sleep

x

rubyslippers · 26/04/2010 12:33

x-post HT

good idea about just giving milk to see if it is the porridge

littlepea72 · 26/04/2010 12:55

2pm still asleep

princessmel · 26/04/2010 20:25

Hi all.

feel down today. F is grouchy. I'm sure it's teeth. Plus dh wasn't home till 7 and we had a playdate (where I had to go too)so no help rom him.
F's had a temp on and off all weekend.
Last night his temp was 39.5!! I was really worried

Sleepwise, the last 3 nights he's slept till 3.30am then had a feed so that's a +'ve I suppose.

too blah to type more
sorry guys.

Scout19075 · 26/04/2010 20:56

Feeling very sleepy, a bit tense/frazzled from the weekend and a wee bit homesick/sad. Am really looking forward to my trip home to be with my family for once. Due to the weekend situation I didn't get to make cakes for BFG today, so even a bit sad about that. Have too much to do and just don't feel like doing anything.

Over the weekend got some supplies to make presents for Seb's grandparents (both sets), his godmother and his parents. The day we were released from the hospital we had his hands and feet imprinted in clay and had them framed with a picture taken that day (professionally done, I just had to show up and hold him). For his six month "birthday" I'm going to do paint/inkpad prints of his hands and feet and frame them myself. I had been thinking about it for a few days, but was convinced to do it (it's a surprise) by my SiL saying "wow, look how long Seb's feet are!" I'll take my parents' and Seb's godmother's with us next week.

Sorry for the me post, but think I hear Seb stirring so will come back and do personals in a bit.

HappyTangerine · 27/04/2010 02:30

princessmel That sounds like enoughh to contend with without grumpy baby in tow! Hope those teeth come through soon and the temp goes down. How is Freddie today?

ruby and a happy dance for Ruby's sleep!

scout Sorry you feel a bit down. Your gift idea sounds lovely. I keep meaniing to get prints of Joe's hands and feet soon (his feet are huge!), am so sorry now that I didn.t do it when he was born. Hope you feel better today.

Weird day yesterday, I was really struggling with asthma by the afternoon and dh came back from work as he was worried. Almost went to hospital but managed to regulate my breathing. Joseph had complete meltdown in the early , wouldn't sleep, screamed and howled if he was on his dad or in his bouncer. He would only stop crying if he was on me or on all fours, pushing off to crawl. He was such a clingon! Am currently downstairs feeling wheezy so sitting up with him sleeping in my arms. He woke up wailing at 1am and would only go back to sleep if held by me. Doctors later today re the rash (and my asthma), have successfully avoided hospital so far so keep your fingers crossed for me.

I have found yet another sling I like so am more confused than ever now. Its the Scootababy Hip. Slumberoo offer hire of that and the Manduca so I might try them both before spending £80. I do think babywearing would make life a lot easier with Joe so am keen to make a choice soon.

HumphreysCorner · 27/04/2010 14:10

Group hug methinks. {{xx}}

Went to see my SIL yesterday and we ended up having the same conversation she and my mum had. Basically, we have agreed to differ as we reached stalemate.

Big wave!

fidelma · 27/04/2010 14:46

i HAD A TOUGH NIGHT WITH cONNOR SO GROUP HUG FEELS GOOD.(sorry bloomin caps lock!!)

Scout19075 · 27/04/2010 15:14

Participating in the group hug and passing around chocolates and cakes.

HappyTangerine · 27/04/2010 15:50

Group hug sounds lovely.Cake v needed -I've been put on a massive dose of steroids to sort out the asthma and the tablets(6 a day taken all at once)are vile so I'm experimenting with taking the taste away .

wibblydibs · 27/04/2010 16:16

Hello everyone..I'm sorry but i just can't keep up with the thread I've caught up to about 3 wks ago so sorry if I've missed anything big!

Actually I'd like in on the group hug and choc please...Louis is poorly again, he's not really been right since christmas when he was in hosp with bronchiolitis - princessmel does freddie still have a cough?

Kind of lost the plot a little over easter (no sleep, husband working long hrs, 3 DC's under school age etc) anyway, I've started going swimming for half an hr most days - DH quite often isn't back until after 8pm so I really have to motivate myself but I feel loads better afterwards. Think I just needed to clear my head

So, Louis shares a birthday with DD1 - and it was around this time with her that I got broody and DD2 was conceived the following month was just wondering who will be the first on this thread with a big announcement! It won't be me, I've done my bit - though I must admit I am feeling a little broody...

Bummer about the asthma HT DH suffers and it's just a nightmare.

Enjoy the rest of your afternoon ladies.

HappyTangerine · 27/04/2010 18:30

Poor Louis and poor you, you sound like you've had a tough time of it. I struggle with one dc and a husband out at work from 11am-10pm so am full of admiration for you coping with 3.

at who will be the first with a big announcement - I still say it will be HC-I've had 2 dreams now where she has announced a multiple birth!

FB is playing up-apologies to anyone online who just got linked to an odd friends application-I think a friend linked me by mistake. My strict privacy/applications settings have been restored.

I am in a remarkably good mood despite part of the mock Tudor wooden thing near the roof of the house (am I making any sense here?!) falling off and landing outside the front door and then twisting my ankle this afternoon. Am staying indoors for my own safety! Visit to the doctors v helpful-he says Joe has hay fever and gave him eye drops and then some diprobase ointment for his face rash. I've got a long dose of hayfever meds and the evil steroids. Am so pleased I'm not on the brown steroid asthma inhaler again-it took me ages to wean myself off it. Drops are working well-Joe is sleeping and for the first time in days not rubbing his eyes in his sleep-it was waking him up through the night.

Reporting on the "which is the best food to get rid of evil steroid tablet taste" - so far Galaxy is the clear winner. My study is ongoing...ha I have 5 days of these tablets to get through!

Igglybuff · 27/04/2010 19:47

Hi all!

Ruby I'm so pleased that Ruby is sleeping much better! How do you feel? Now you can sleep! Speaking of which, William has stopped sleeping quite so well - I think his tooth put him off.

HT Joe has hayfever?! I was under the misguided illusion that it started in puberty (mine did and it is pretty bad. The year it started I was doing my exams and my writing was smeared with my tears). I used that spray stuff when I was pregnant too. William has been sneezing when I sneeze and had a little rash on his face (although cleared up now). Also ouch for your roof throwing things at you. And here's some Galaxy to take the taste away assist with your study.

scout prints of hands and feet sound like a great idea. I've done one of William's foot and framed it. I hope you're feeling better and get a bit of time to relax or bake some lovely cakes.

princess I hope F is better and you're feeling better too.

littlepea excellent news on the spots! Bye bye the pox. Looks like Faith has been catchign up on lost sleep so I hope she;s back on track soon.

fidelma I hope the group hug helped and that Connor gives you a better night.

wibbly mmmmmmmm no sign of any announcements from me! DH and I keep talking about the next one but are not actually doing anything about it TMI!

HC I hope that things with your SIL will be easier or at least civil now.

crawling well William is kind of launching himself forwards after getting on all fours but not got the hang of it yet. He keeps pushing off with both legs. He seems to have grown so quickly in the last couple of weeks - trying to crawl and his little tooth is poking through now! Plus we're taking him for his first haircut on Thursday

weaning I'm worried that W is getting a bit bunged up on the bum region. He's done tiny dry poos. So I've given more water but it just makes him wee more... I'm thinking of giving him a milk only day to see if that helps?

facebook I've now got a few of you as friends so have been nosing looking at your pics. Babies are looking super cute! Although I can't remember everyone's real life name!

I'm feeling quite jolly this evening as William went to sleep very easily after days of grumpiness with his teeth which required me to rock and sing twinkle twinkle to calm him down. Put him in the cot and decided to leave him to it. He rolled over and drifted off. Hurrah!

Now dinner's ready. Hi to everyone!

wibblydibs · 27/04/2010 21:41

Thanks for the virtual pat on the back HT (and the cake!) much needed at the moment Part of our roof has fallen down today - I want to call it the 'eaves' but not sure if that's right anyway, all very dull and expensive.

Iggly my top tip for loosening things up in the nappy region is dried apricot - get the dark brown ones with fewer sulphides (or something ) boil them for 5 mins, whizz them up and serve with pear, or baby rice or with porridge. HTH

I'm dreading Louis crawling - DD2 started at 6 months - I just don't know how I'm going to keep all the tiny toys (barbie shoes, littlest pet shop, pen lids) out of his reach. I guess I'm going to have to tidy up more

Sweet dreams everyone.

fidelma · 27/04/2010 22:42

i WAS IN BED AND HAVE BEEN ASLEEP 4 TIMES ALREADY BUT cONNOR HAS A BAD COLD SO i KEEP WAKING UP.CAPS LOCK UGHHHHHHHHHH

I think it may be a long night.I can see Connor in bed with me and him using me as a dummy.I will report back tomorrow.

A mum at school has had a wee acident and is pregnant with dc3 and just found out its TWINS.They were done at 2

The girls are now at school at 6 am for the summer term as DD1 is in the pipe band and they practice every morning.(a garanteded tear rolling down your cheek as they play Highland Cathedral)[sloppy mum emotion]

I have had them on a bit of a fitness kick over the last 3 weeks and it has made a difference. We had all had too much chocolate and sweets with Easter and 3 birthdays also not much outside play this cold baby winter.

I find the sweet, cake thing quite hard as its always someones birthday,or you go to friends and the cakes come out or grandma, aunties great grandma or grandad come and everyone comes bringing goodies.Treats had become part of our life not just for a treat.owever over te last 3 weeks I have managed to make them into treats again.Connor awake see you later x

princessmel · 28/04/2010 07:55

Hi all

Feeling a bit better now thanks. After my grouchy F day and the playdate....F slept ALL NIGHT!!!!!!!!!!!! YAY!!!!!!
He went down at 8.30, woke at 10 and then slept till 6.30 then fed and slept till 8.30 ! woohoo!
Another grouchy day yesterday though so I went out all day and he dosed on and off in the pram. Where is that tooth??
Had a smear test too. I am on annual recalls for 10 years due to abnormal cells.

Wibbly F stopped coughing about a month ago after he got an inhaler. Used it for about 2 weeks.

Lots of screaming from F in night, not crying but screaming Must be in pain.

Right got to finish get ready for school will do more catch ups later....

Igglybuff · 28/04/2010 12:46

princess great news on F's sleep! I hope you got some rest.
fidelma how was your night? Also I know what you mean about treats. I "treat" myself to cakes far too often then there's visits which require cakes etc etc..!

wibbly I usually give william apricot porridge but added some dried apricot too and today we had some serious poo..... I had to dunk him in the bath - was that bad!

We're off to the inlaws today. Last time we went, FIL had a strop and threw a cushion so I hope it'll be a smoother visit today!

Scout19075 · 28/04/2010 17:17

Will post later tonight (after Seb's in bed for the night) but just wanted to come on and say -- I can't believe my baby's 6 months old today! Who told him he could grow up and get big and old? I know I didn't! LOL

For those FBFriends, please don't laugh -- I know I post a lot of pictures, but I do it for the benefit of my American friends and family. Seven sleeps until we go home! BIG

Scout19075 · 28/04/2010 19:51

How are all of the poorly babies and mommies?

And how is the sleep going?

Teething pain seems to have subsided abit but still no signs of the pearly whites. I have a feeling this teething business is going to go on for AGES. I keep the baby gum gel and the baby pain relief with me 24/7 now, just in case.

Today was my last day of exclusively breast feeding. Saw the community support counselor today at the clinic (where we do messy play) and she asked me if today was the day I started the switch (she knows what's going on and, did I mention, she might be able to get me respite nursery for when I'm feeling poorly during treatments?). I said no, tomorrow, as I wanted to go a full six months and it wouldn't seem full not to do it today, too. Is that silly? I've been pestering my DH for a badge stating "I exclusively breast fed for six months." I think he thinks I'm kidding, but I really want one! I can get a hold of a badge making machine through Guides, but I want someone else to give me one. LOL

Am really getting exciting about going back to the U.S.. Next week is going to be crazy busy but then, on Thursday night I get Mom and Dad hugs and Friday I can have my favorite lunch -- cheesesteak w/fried onions and a root beer. YUMMY! That weekend (May 9th) is (U.S.) Mother's Day, so we're trying to plan what to do. I keep asking my mom what she'd like to do and she keeps asking me as "you can celebrate, too." I've told I already have, and that this year it's about her being Grandmom but she won't listen. Oh well!

(Why is the ice cream truck coming 'round at 1950 on a school night?!)

Scout19075 · 28/04/2010 20:05

FB HUGE favor to ask FBFriends. Am trying to pick which picture to use for the hands/feet print frame and can't decide. Can you take a look at the (new) Sebastian is 6 months old album and let me know if you have an opinion on which would look good with a set of prints in a 4-hole frame?

THANKS!!!

Igglybuff · 28/04/2010 20:22

Hi scout I'll take a look!

Also I know exactly what you mean re feeding for 6 months. When I tried (and failed, so I just express) to introduce formula, I had to wait until William was 6 months plus a bit. And I felt a bit sad giving him a couple of ounces. You've done so well to get this far and I hope you're ok when you move to formula. It will be a bit sad so make sure you get a badge at the very least

Igglybuff · 28/04/2010 20:35

Seb has fabulous eyes scout!

I have picked three and "liked" them on FB.

Scout19075 · 28/04/2010 20:40

Thanks Iggly! (for both saying Seb has fab eyes and for liking pics for me)

Iggly I wanted to ask you (since William also has reflux) have you introduced acidic foods yet (for example, tomatoes) and if so, how did you go about it?
