Hi ladies, I feel rubbish today Luckily Evie is being a little star and just playing. When I put the washing out she passed the clothes out to me, bless, I think she's going to be mummys little helper

I just said randomly 'Evie, where are your toes?' and she pointed to them! How quick is she growing up?!

Talking of growing up, I have to go and watch the sex ed video at DS1's school this afternoon to see if agree to him seeing it. Oh dear. He has already had 'the talk' with his dad but I don't like him knowing about all this!!

surprisenumber3 · 19/03/2010 10:12

does anyone know what Kingston upon Thames is like? Having trouble finding a hotel in Richmond that will fit me and all my brood in

Am thinking of maybe staying two nights, boys can't wait to go to museums and obviously I need to go to Oxford Street and Covent Garden The boys also want to do a 'duck tour'...I think I need to book for a week :D

Schulte · 19/03/2010 12:37

Hi - Kingston is okay. I don't know any hotels there though.

We tried to get Hazel to show us her nose this morning but she's a stubborn thing and pinched DH's cheek instead.

Bicnod yay for forwards crawling. I am okay actually, DH cried last night trying to compose a letter to her parents as we can't attend the memorial service. I heard him sobbing and then I drifted off to sleep what a bad wife am I?

Hi BB! Sorry I don't know anything about willies

Everyone, I am only doing one breastfeed a day now but still seem to be hungry all the time - this is not right is it?

Mwah mwah

bronze · 19/03/2010 14:24

waves at people

emotionally drained
dh currently in interview... cross things please
taking his old work to court as of today he is unemployed
I hate not being able to do anything to make the situation better

mrsgboring · 19/03/2010 14:44

Oh gosh Bronze, best wishes coming your and your DH's way

surprisenumber3 · 19/03/2010 16:40

sorry to hear that Bronze - fingers crossed everything goes well for DH.

Am trying to book hotel again! Anyone know anything about Wandsworth? It is so hard to book for 2 adults and 2 kids, let alone if I try and put Evie on the booking too! This one in Wandsworth has onsite parking and free brekkie so am thinking that one!

ZuluWarrior · 19/03/2010 20:27

Hello all

Fingers crossed Bronze, hope you're feeling better surprise. Cuddles for everyone else. Off to bed before 12 hour shifts tomorrow and Sunday. Boys weekend here - they'll be very happy playing together but god know what state the house'll be in!

kingbeat23 · 19/03/2010 21:29

oh no, how come everyone seems to be hvaing it hard at the moment? Shulte, please give your DH a hug from me and tell him not to be so hard on himself. Bronze - hope all goes well with your DH too....

everyone else, stay strong....x

PuzzleRocks · 20/03/2010 08:09

[peeks in]

AuldAlliance · 20/03/2010 19:48

bronze, am crossing everything I can for you and your DH.
Feier, hope you and your DH are doing OK.
BB, nice to hear from you. Shame we'll miss one another in Edinburgh, would have been nice to add you to the Northern meetup.

Hope all the snotty babies are getting better, and the teething ones, too.

DS1 was five yesterday. I don't know where those years went to. Vanished in a whirl of laundry, playmobils and tantrums... He had his party today with 4 friends. It was a nice day (22° according to the thermometer outside, but I think that it was exaggerating...) and they raged around the garden, doing a treasure hunt and generally running wild. Alex was napping when they arrived and was utterly stunned to discover the mayhem once he awoke. He thought it was great, and shouted and laughed at them all afternoon.
DH has now gone to watch the rugby with a mate, and I am babysitting. Which I was fine with when the alternative was watching a rugby match (I just don't get rugby despite a great-uncle who played for Scotland and a father who was chairman of a big Edinburgh rugby club).
But I've just found a text message from a friend saying she was going to the cinema later to ogle George Clooney improve her mind, and inviting me along. I hardly ever get invited anywhere.

Bicnod · 20/03/2010 19:52

Oh Bronze, fingers crossed for your DH. I've facebooked you about the sleep stuff x

Schulte - thinking of you and your DH we still on for meet up next Wed?

I'm very very hungover tired as I went out last night to a friend's wedding evening do thingummy. I had 3 glasses of champagne and a glass of wine . I am officially a total lightweight. It was fab though and the first time I've been out properly since O was born.

Very quiet on here - hope that means everyone is having a fun weekend.

dawntigga · 21/03/2010 06:14

Bronze have been sending you good energy - how's it going?

Schulte thinking of you hope everything works out.

If one more fecking woman brings their disease carrying vector i.e. snotty baby to ANOTHER baby thing where there are new borns to older babies I am going to fecking well kill them!!!!! We have YET ANOTHER cold because of these irresponsible women! Wouldn't bother me so much if the groups were for toddlers etc. but they aren't! There were babies of 2 weeks old at baby cafe and in she fecking well swans with her snotty germ laden infant.

ARGH!Tiggaxx

MrsAFlowerpot · 21/03/2010 19:10

Bronze - fingers crossed, another one here thinking of you.

I have now caught A's cold and am feeling more sorry for her as yesterday I thought I was actually dying. She also keeps catching them from other babies and I then keep her away from everyone so as not to pass them on, so feeling your pain Tigga!

Hope everyone else is okay.

Schulte · 21/03/2010 20:57

We've survived DD1's 3rd birthday party and I am shattttttttttered. And a bit drunk

Kisses to all and sundry

Schulte · 21/03/2010 21:05

PS and Bicnod, of course we're still on for Wednesday, don't you dare plan anything else

Schulte · 22/03/2010 12:55

'allo 'allo?

AuldAlliance · 22/03/2010 13:17

'allo.
(Well, i couldn't not reply if you speak French, could I? )

I am lurking. Am trying to write a paper for a conference and finding that my brain has become a jelly-like substance that cannot write a sentence, never mind a brilliant 20-minute symposium paper.

A had D&V last night, so the laundry mountain has hit new heights.

On the plus side, we watched part of the African Queen last night till A woke us up (well, I did, DH fell asleep after 10 mins and snored).

I had forgotten how excellent Katherine Hepburn is as the spinster lady saying "I never dreamed that any mere physical experience could be so stimulating!"

PuzzleRocks · 22/03/2010 17:34

Damn, wish had been here earlier so I could say "Good Moaning"

Champagne Schulte
I have just destroyed a tyre on my car so it will be prosecco for me on the girls birthday. Pah.

ZuluWarrior · 22/03/2010 20:43

So quiet.

I'm meant to be doing an online tutorial on advance paediatric life support. Scary. Need to break up the studying with MNing.

1st birthday on Saturday! Cannot believe a year has passed already.

Nuffink wrong with prosecco Puzzle. It will be chava for ours .

Schulte · 23/03/2010 08:51

Isn't it quiet! Is it because everyone is back at work?

dawntigga · 23/03/2010 09:25

Puzzle you missed out on a good deal in Morrisons on Prosecco.

Somebody bought me a very nice bottle of champers for my 40th - have debated drinking that but it's for ME so will buy something nice but not toooooo expensive from local wine place. Rather than at local supermarket by choosing the best looking label!

WhatFreshHellIsThis · 23/03/2010 10:07

I'm here!

Have been lurking but not posting much - too much going on.

Mum is out of hospital and home as of yesterday, recovering well from the operation. Sadly lab results weren't brilliant - they think they got the main tumour but the soft tissue they removed had lots of microscopic tumours in it, which means it's very likely that the soft tissue left inside (which they can't remove) also has these microscopic tumours. This means the cancer will almost certainly come back, probably within a couple of years, and there's very little they can do about it when it does. She's considering whether to have chemo or not, it's not been shown to be very effective on this kind of cancer, but for the moment she's concentrating on getting over the operation and regaining her strength.

We are all just in the process of assimilating the news - my brother is staying with us at the moment as well as DP's brother, so it's a busy old house as ever.

Apart from that Orbit has settled really well into nursery, but has Tuesdays at home with me until I go back to work in May. Still under threat of redundancy but won't find out until end of May whether I have a job. DP working silly hours to finish a project and I'm still trying to fix the curtain rail in our bedroom which I pulled down accidentally when we first moved in. Sigh......

BabyBolat · 23/03/2010 10:37

WFH I am glad the surgery went well but so sorry that you didn't receive the results you wanted. It's such a tough situation, I hope you, your mum and the family are OK. Once she is stronger she will be able to make a decision on the way forward, big hugs x

Ouch for car tyre Puzz.

Kara has a chest infection , he spent all of Sunday night and yesterday crying and sleeping, with a breathing rate of over 70 a minute, (although through all of this, still managed to charm the pants off the surgery staff!) but 24 hours and some vile tasting banana anti-b's later, bar the wheezing and old-mans cough, it's like it never happened! Running around here like a crazy boy! Although when he is tired, it tends to come back with a vengeance!

oooh Birthdays! Zulu, I know it's so scary that they are a year old already I want to get Kara a really nice birthday card but don't know where (any ideas) I have looked at all the personalisation sites etc but nothing is grabbing me! I have spent a small fortune of 'stuff' for Kara's birthday and we are no where near yet. We have figurines for his birthday cake, (mum couldn't decide which ones she wanted so I now have 20+!), a mountain of winnie the pooh birthday accessories. Still want to get helium balloons for the tree and eggs for the easter egg hunt (it is on easter Sunday!) and all the food and drink. This from the person that said she was only going to doa small family and close friend thing for his birthday, which is technically true but there appears to be more family than I initially thought!! We have decided not to stress out about a present and look for something special over the next couple of months. I might take him to that shop in Edinburgh I went on about when I was pregnant and get him something there.

Hope everyone is having happy Tuesdays!

WFH are you still looking for a place to live or going to rent for a while?

MrsAFlowerpot · 23/03/2010 11:45

Just a quickie as am at work and madly busy (although clearly not that much if I'm on MN!). Moonpig is great for cards.

We're all ill in the Flowerpot house. Bloody spring colds

PuzzleRocks · 23/03/2010 13:00

WFH - I don't know what to say. I wish you and your family all the strength you need.

BB - Good to hear from you. I hope to see you on the 15th.
