Here we go!

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
bebemoohatessnot · 12/03/2010 09:11

Thanks everyone. I really appreciate you all.
Just keeping busy today until Ben is home.
Moo slept rather well which was a blessing as I was up a bit late.

AuldAlliance · 12/03/2010 10:17

Oh no.

Sorry about all the bad news.

Bebe, hope you are coping. I second those who say that, hard as it is not to, you shouldn't feel guilty about Nov. Giving her pneumonia wasn't an option... Hope your DH gets home as soon as he can, I know how crap it is being alone even when times are not so hard.

Schulte, you must be in shock. She was so young. I don't know what to say.

Sending hugs from France...

AuldAlliance · 12/03/2010 10:31

WFH: good thing you changed your name back, someone on this thread loves it.

WhatFreshHellIsThis · 12/03/2010 13:37

Aaaaha, warms the cockles of my heart, that. I like Riven and shineon more and more.

Bebe so sorry to hear about your grandmother. I bet you have some lovely memories of her, I'm sure she'll have had those in her mind when she thought of you too, so it doesn't matter a bit about not going to see her. It was done for the right reasons. I can see why it would make you sad though xxxxxx

Hope you're managing to get through today ok.

Went to see Mum last night, she's out of intensive care and back on the ward but still hooked up to epidural, fluids, catheter, paracetamol drip, anti-b's, liver drain etc etc etc. She was quite groggy, I think partly from the epidural drugs, but very pleased to see me. They said she's doing well, her blood pressure was a bit low but now stabilising, and they're hoping to remove the epidural today. So far so good, no complications. Let's hope the lab results are good too.

Schulte really sorry to hear about your friend - that's really shocking. Hope you have plenty of hugs on hand to keep you going. If necessary seize a DD and hug them.

Orbit has been at nursery on three days this week, for a few hours at a time. He refused to have a nap on day 2, but did go down for 45 minutes on day 3 (very impressed with nursery!) but wouldn't eat his lunch on day 3. I think he wasn't hungry, they eat very early, but they got DS1 in from the pre school room to see if he could help. Apparently he came in, said 'Oh Orbit!' then immediately said 'Go to go now' and ran back to pre-school Not a huge amount of help there!

Had a bit of a weep about my baby boy growing up this morning.

Gui....Gui....I think I remember someone of that name. It was a long time ago though, are you sure you're the same person?

Guimauve · 12/03/2010 13:51

Bebe, so sorry to hear about your Grandmother. Thinking of you. I hope that DH is able to get home to you soon.

WFH - I'm really not sure I'm the same person, certainly not the same person I was a few months ago. I'm afraid I won't be returning to my original alias - this feels much more me. Did DS1 actually call him Orbit? That must confuse the nursery staff I too am impressed with our nursery's ability to get Hugo to sleep. He slept on a duvet on the floor for an hour last week - more than I've ever managed! He's pretty good with food though. He has breakfast 1 at home, breakfast 2 at nursery, followed by snack, lunch, snack, sometimes some tea at nursery and then dinner at home. Plus bm. Porker.

We have had to stay off work/ nursery today due to him having had a temperature al night. So it's all snot and Calpol around here today.

I can never go back to Puddleducks, I had my tankini (hideous word) top on back to front!!!! I wondered why the blasted thing wouldn't stay up! Mind you it could be worse the class behind us got cancelled as one of our class (not the cub) had poo'd in the pool.

surprisenumber3 · 12/03/2010 17:01

WFH, Bebe, Schulte, hope you're all ok x

Hope H feels better soon Gui!

Oh my Tigga, a MUM poo'd in the pool??! Oh dear dear!

Schulte · 12/03/2010 19:42

LOL Tigga

I like your style

How can a baby poo in the pool? What are swimming nappies for, I ask you?

surprisenumber3 · 12/03/2010 19:49

OOHHHHHHH I read that totally wrong! I read it as though it wasn't a BABY who poo'd but a MUM! LOL I need to concentrate more! As for babies pooing in the pool....We went to Center Parcs when DS1 was just 2 and he climbed up the baby slide, sat at the top (while I camcorded), and then I saw poo leaking out the side of his swim nappy - total diarrhoea sliding down the slide! Have never moved so fast!!

MrsAFlowerpot · 12/03/2010 20:58

Lots of love to Bebe, Schulte and WFH xx

So glad its Friday as its been a week of late nights and not seeing Aoife very much. She hasn't been sleeping so well either and I had to wake her up at 6.45 this morning to get her ready for the day...she wasn't impressed and feel I'm going to pay for it in the morning!

Gui so glad you're back as Aoife still doesn't have any teeth either!!

dawntigga · 13/03/2010 08:08

Schulte my style is, indeed, inimitable - thank goodness!

Baby was wearing a neoprene wrap but mummy hadn't made sure babies swim nappy was totally inside so it went straight up babies back.

My poo incident of the previous week is now totally overshadowed - Sam had poo'd in his swim nappy, I hadn't realised and ripped it down (whilst getting changed) flinging poo everywhere, was V embarrassed. One of the women who gave the dissaproving look was the women who's baby poo'd. Can't help feeling a little [smug emoticon] about that!

PuzzleRocks · 13/03/2010 09:02

Morning poo Duchess

WFH - When do you get the lab results?

WhatFreshHellIsThis · 13/03/2010 09:18

Have just been changing very poofilled nappy, how appropriate.

Not sure about lab results - Mum is running a fever and has got an infection somewhere. She has had lots of blood overnight and a CT scan, we're waiting to find out what the doctors say this morning

Went to see her last night and she is very groggy and a bit confused.

Am worried.

dawntigga · 13/03/2010 09:37

WFH thinking of you and your mum.

Tiggaxx

kingbeat23 · 13/03/2010 09:55

WFH - just running in to give you lots of hugs and love and keeping everything crossed for you.....sending out positive vibes to your mum and hope everything is ok. (((()))

bebemoohatessnot · 13/03/2010 13:40

WFH hope all gets better with your Mom and the lab results are ok. (hugs)

surprisenumber3 · 14/03/2010 20:08

ooh no one has posted here today!

HAPPY MOTHERS DAY EVERYONE!! xxx

mrsgboring · 15/03/2010 07:34

Morning all - spent last week in Centerparcs and am massively behind IRL as well as here.

So sorry to hear about your Grandma, Bebe, and your friend, Schulte

WFH, all best wishes to your mum and hope the lab results are good.

Thanks for the ugli fruit info, Gui.

Bronze, I see we were both on the shit mother's day thread, so commiserations. Yours much worse than mine; I'm just a fruitcake about these things.

Schulte · 15/03/2010 08:44

Oh for heaven's sake

It's my first day back at work and Hazel's conjunctivitis has come back... the earliest doc's appointment I could get is 10.30.

&£%$%@$^@$@

bebemoohatessnot · 15/03/2010 09:08

hugs everyone;super busy getting everything done for travelling tomorrow. hope you're all well

schulte hope doc appt doesn't end up causing too much hassle to your day. hugs

Hope you had wonderful Mother's day!

WhatFreshHellIsThis · 15/03/2010 09:13

Morning!

mrsg - Center Parcs, am envious! Would kill for a holiday right now. On the plus side, I did have a lovely mother's day.

Mum is a lot better - temp back to normal and seems to be improving slowly. She's less confused than she was, still gets a bit muddled occasionally, but on the whole things are on the up. Haven't heard back about lab results yet, but we're just taking each day as it comes.

Just dropped DS1 and Orbit at nursery, they both cried . I feel mean.

Schulte bummer about conjunctivitis! I am officially back at work today, can you tell? Am now on holiday, rather than mat leave. Hooray, I get PAID again!

Taking Orbit swimming tomorrow, I shall pray for no POO incidents....

Found out the other day one of my friends from ante natal is going through a very acrimonious divorce, plus got a call yesterday to say that another friend is having a trial separation from her husband. These things are not good. Both have two kids

Must go and take advantage of free time!

mrsgboring · 15/03/2010 09:48

WFH I know I'm very lucky to have had a holiday and everything to be going relatively well in life. We did have a great time, and yesterday's pointless Ikea trip was okay in its way once you accept the house will remain trashed all week while DH travels for work and complains the suitcase isn't yet unpacked.

I am now mainlining Swedish jammy dodgers in a stupidly self-destructive manner.

Guimauve · 15/03/2010 10:14

Good morning!

WFH - glad to hear your Mum is doing a bit better today. It sounds like she's over the worst of the post-op period.

Off work and nursery again today. Took H to the on-call docs on Saturday morning and he has a chest infection to go with his conjunctivitis. So abx and eye ointment. Am very unimpressed about the ointment. How do you get ointment into the screwed-up eyes of a screaming, crying baby with long eyelashes to boot? I asked for drops. I got oint . Ho hum. He seems a lot better this morning, so hopefully we'll be back to work/ nursery tomorrow.

AuldAlliance · 15/03/2010 14:05

Bonjour (poncy emoticon),
WFH, glad to hear your mum seems a bit better. Fingers crossed.
Bebe, good luck for trip.
Sorry to hear about shite mother's days. It wasn't mother's day here yesterday, so DH is excused. Until it is, when I will be furious.

Have been lurking but not posting much. Busy as usual trying to run the household while incidentally working and bringing home most of le bacon.

Also doing lots of moonlighting to try and finance extravagant plane tickets I have bought for the summer, to have something lovely to look forward to and thus reduce chances of entering terminal spiral of depression.

Still waiting for Spring, bloody freezing here.

A has still only got two bottom teeth. Not walking yet. Can apparently neigh when shown a horse and ee-aaw when shown a donkey. But only at the CM's, despite my best efforts at home.

Did someone say they'd put their child in a front-facing car seat? A doesn't really fit his seat any more, but 11 mths seems so little to be in the front-facing one... All advise/flaming/arguing over the issue welcome.

Right, back to work.

mwa, mwa, blowing you all loads of gallic kisses, BA-style but not quite so chic'n'expensive.
