June 2005 Southern meet number 3

Okay, time to plan our next meet. At the last London meet, we talked about Reading being the most accessible to all. Is this still the case?

Any views on Dates? I'm back at work on 15 August, so if it's after that I'll need a Saturday or Sunday. I can not do 20 July - 02 August as my mum will be visiting.

I assume we want to bring/meet the babies. What about toddlers? I'm sort of thinking that travel with baby and toddler is perhaps a bit more than I care to take on (especially for those travelling by train).

As for a venue, I was thinking that we could perhaps seek out a baby friendly spot in the Oracle (shopping mall in Reading). Possibly another TGI?

One more point to consider. Should we invite the Due in May crowd as well? I would say we could invite July too, but I expext they have other things on their agenda right now... Although, if we don't meet until late Aug or Sept. then they might want to join us.

Ok, I've put out lots to consider. Please repond with your thoughts and if you want to come. Jyust to recap:

1- Date?
2- Place? Reading? London? Somewhere else?
3- Bring babies? Toddlers stay home?
4- Venue suggestions?
5- Include neigboring Due in months (May & July)?

Well I'll definately be bringing the baby. I don't know reading at all but if I am given directions then thats ok.

I don't know any of the May or July people but I know other people post on the threads so I don't really mind.

I am pretty easy about the date as I don't have commitments until 6th September.

welshmum · 14/07/2005 10:16

If I'm honest Uwila I'd like to come in theory but it might be difficult in practise. So I'll sign up but might have to bail out if I'm too knackered or if something comes up - that sounds wishy washy I know.
I'm only here for the middle week of August and can't do Wednesday that week. Much freer Sept onwards.
Would bring ds but not dd - too much hassle
Don't mind where we meet.
Happy to include anyone at all
Hats off to you for trying though - how's it going with Alex?

uwila · 15/07/2005 21:49

Weel, I'm afraid this looks like a lost cause if no one is going to come.

Not that you're a nobody Pink. And. I think Tea wants to come but haven't seen her on here for a while.

charleypops · 16/07/2005 00:55

uwila · 16/07/2005 12:58

Okay, then I guess we have:
Pink
Charley
Tea (if she ever comes back to read this)
me (of course!)

Anyone else?

Where's Scraggy these days? Anyone else?

Hi I'm from the May thread and I'd like to join your meet if thats ok. Reading is about 2 hours from me so as long as Megan is well we'll be able to come along. I'll be driving so I can offer a lift to anyone between south somerset and Reading. I'll need directions too as I don't know Reading.

welshmum · 29/07/2005 11:31

Sorry can't make Sept 3rd - still in Wales on hols. Have a great time though - will try to make the next one.

uwila · 31/07/2005 09:18

Hi LittleB, Of course you are welcome!

I think you can find directions on the link(s) in my 19 July post below. But, if not let me know and I'll find a better source and send it to you.

I'll driving too. So if anyone needs a lift (Charley??) I'm happy to oblige.

Uwila that's great...I'm gonna have to bring ds too, as I'll be coming after visiting rellies in Oxford, and after a few days of us I'm not sure how happy they'd be if I left him with them
If anyone needs a lift from the Oxford area let me know...

uwila · 03/08/2005 09:47

Tea,
I think you might be the only one braving it with toddler and baby. My toddler is staying home.

But, maybe if there is only one toddler we can all help entertain him a bit. Besides as I recall your toddler is very well behaved.

teabelly · 04/08/2005 10:10

that was before his little green eyes developed, he he he!

Scraggyaggy · 10/08/2005 12:01

I think I'd like to come too - Need to check with the boss that I can steal his princess away for the weekend! x
