New thread idea good jfly!

See what I did, now we are two - for those with new number 2 and expecting number 2.

And all the rest of us who get at least 2 tantrums a day from the 2 year olds.

Ewe- You know where we are. Feel free to shout if you need T taking off your hands. What's the recovery time forecasted to be? Will you be ok for your holiday?

I will just say happy birthday to all of the LOs now...easier.

I am off to top myself now as P has woken up crying this morning and coughing. Checked his mouth and sure enough we have tonsilitis again. I cant tell you how upsetting the paed visit was. She told me to get over it, that it was normal, prob viral, give him calpol and wont he have super immunity next winter. Normal. This is the 5th bout since Jan. Oh...and his eating issues have nothing to do with searing pain and gagging when he eats from big tonsils. It's because of the baby.

timmyinatizzy · 15/03/2010 10:55

DP - Sorry to hear about what happened with Monty. Its sound as if E will not remember any of it, which will be good.

Happy birthday to all the babies, especially E who shares a birthday with my DS, 2 today. Gosh doesn't time fly.

What a nice bright day it is today. Lets hope the weather has turned around now. Can't wait for the summer

timelordvictorious · 16/03/2010 09:01

That's good news, Ewe. I have my fingers crossed for you.

And happy birthday, T!

Two does seem very grown up. I'm constantly bein surprised by her at the moment, which is lovely.

Silence from ilgb....come on! We're desperate for news!

Hope you're all enjoying the sunshine.

megonthemoon · 17/03/2010 08:09

ILGB - any news? is it H's birthday today?

Loving this spring weather even more than I usually do! It's my favourite season - all the excitement and promise of a lovely summer without the reality of a wet drizzly one which is what July and August are all about. And beautiful flowers I got married in March purely so I could have daffs and freesias and hyacinths at my wedding. So I'm thrilled that the daffs have now officially started to open in my garden

timelordvictorious · 17/03/2010 10:17

I am with meg on this one. Love love love the spring flowers, and on my walk into uni this morning was thrilled to see snowdrops and bluebells and a host of golden daffs. Oxford really is beautiful.

A friend of mine works for an orchestra, and I am taking Ff to this on April 17th. Anyone fancy it? It's under 5s, so older brothers and sisters could come too.

It's on my friend's birthday, and I will be treating her to lunch afterwards so won't be able to hang around, but it would be lovely to have a meet up and make some noise.

ilovegreenbeans · 17/03/2010 10:31

I'm back I'm back!

Just got home last night- baby girl born Saturday 13th. Had meconium issues and baby had iv abs for a few days but all ok now.

Get this though: I pushed her out all by myself, only 2 small tears and she's 10lb 14!

timelordvictorious · 17/03/2010 10:35

Hoorah!Congratulations, that's fab. Very well done on the pushing - that's a lot of baby to squeeze out on your own.

Looking forward to seeing some pictures. Hope you're all enjoying the new addition.

megonthemoon · 17/03/2010 11:05

Ooooh I'm so very excited ilgb! That is wonderful news. And big wow at pushing her all out yourself Can't wait for photos!

JFly · 17/03/2010 11:45

That is amazing ILGB! Well done you. And I'm pretty sure that's the biggest baby ever, right?
Congratulations!

Dontpanic · 17/03/2010 12:17

brilliant news ilgb good whopper size, though don't think you beat MB's whopper ;)

Yes, spring is in the air and it's keeping my spirits up slightly. No daffs out in my garden yet, but the ones round the corner are. I've got crocuses!

Ewe good luck with the op tomorrow & a swift recovery.

Belated happy birthday to those I've missed and advance greetings for those I'll miss in next few days.

E loved his dinosaur, apart from on the night of his birthday when he was teething yet again & too upset to like anything (except icesqueam).

JFly · 17/03/2010 14:20

My word, MB. Just had a look back at the stats and by golly, that's a big baby. How did you do it?

Stats also reminded me of Feedmenow and little Eris who's birthday was March 11th. Don't know if there's a current thread for her but will have a look and post a msg to say thinking of you.

Happy Birthday to this week's babies! G is on Saturday and we're having his party that day, too. Much fun. Can't wait for March to be over!

megonthemoon · 17/03/2010 15:12

JFly - if you find FMN, please give her my love and let her know that I think about her and Eris often. Still makes me cry.

pantshavenames · 17/03/2010 15:59

oh well done ilgb and happy birthdays to all the others.
loving the weather at the moment, DD just pootles in and out of the garden as she feels like it and is refreshingly low maintainance. Just booked her in for her settling in sessions at nursery next week which is a little alarming as it means I'm back at work the week after! And apparently staff cuts mean I won't just be sitting around drinking coffee while it's still hot as I planned.

On the way home from school DS needed a wee so we stopped so he could wee up a tree. DD obviously enthralled by this. all done, walking on, realise DD has not followed us but is standing in the middle of path pulling up her tops with one hand and having a good go at pulling down her trousers shouting 'wee!' at the top of her voice.
I didn't enlighten her that it was hugely unlikely she'd be able to do it that way at any age.

merryberry · 17/03/2010 21:33

oooh, we;ll do it tmv, we only live up the road, and did music there before, to great pleasure. mind you, much of hte pleasure was running the marble halls, bless them. but yes, sounds great.

congratulations again ilgb! it's blissful isn't it to get back. even 2 years later, i watch the two of them together and wonder, what next, how did i get so lucky? so pleased for you!

jfly, ignorance = bliss, they all take work to push out! and then big baby = big sleeps, ime. the upside of birthing a 3 month weighing, 4 month long baby, is that they also have huge stomach capacity compared to your previous 6lb 13oz, and feed and sleep really really well!

hope that's true for you ilgb!

merryberry · 17/03/2010 21:37

just went to book tickets but it's full
did you get tix tmv?

OP posts:
timelordvictorious · 17/03/2010 21:52

Oh poo. My friend is running the event, so she's stashed tickets for Ff and I. I'll ask if she can find some extras, Merry. You and the two boys? Would be great for Ff to get together with them again to run around the marble halls appreciate Beethoven.

merryberry · 17/03/2010 21:57

go yes please do try. if not, we could meet early if you can get in, and 'admire' the canal and my tasteful severed-penis-in-canal story (tm)
and/or i can pick you up if your friend is busy and whisk you back chez moi palace etc, for naps, lunch, somewhere quiet to be, parks whatever. we are close to king's place, but i appreciate not so close to oxford-y returns.

OP posts:
merryberry · 17/03/2010 21:58

that should read o. not go.

timelordvictorious · 18/03/2010 20:25

Merry, I pulled some strings and you and the boys are in. (Basks in glory of having an actual industry contact, even if it is for a toddler music morning...)

It would be lovely to do something besides Beethoven, and am intrigued about the penis-in-canal story. We can sort something out closer to the time.

Ewe, glad to hear it went well today. Hope you're not too sore.

DP, have been thinking about you all day.

merryberry · 18/03/2010 21:03

oooh, wow, we are very lucky! thank you

OP posts:
Ewe · 20/03/2010 09:13

Aww ilgb, the pics of new DD are SO cute.

Happy birthday to mini-JFly and littleducks today, hope you both have a good day involving lots of pressies!

I am still resting after op but doc pretty sure the weird looking lump - he showed it to me! - is just a fibroma, aka a benign tumour which is good news. Up to Cambridge today to see the ex-inlaws (?) for DD's birthday celebrations which will be nice, they can do all the running around for once!

DP, your blog about Monty is lovely and I'm not even a dog person. Hope you're holding up ok, been thinking of you. E's dinosaur looks great, I showed DD the clip and she was very impressed, I think she likes the George from Peppa Pig connotation.

Check you out with your contacts tlv!

Now the weather is getting better we should definitely sort out some kind of meetup. I am going to propose some dates, feel free to add your own dates and/or let me know what of the following you can make.

Thursday 8th April
Monday 12th April
Tuesday 13th April
Tuesday 20th April
Thursday 22nd April

There must be one here that we can all make!

turtle23 · 20/03/2010 14:22

8th for me...on holiday for rest. [smug]

Dontpanic · 22/03/2010 12:52

Hi all,
doing ok thanks..we have a void to fill, but E does a good job of distracting us until he goes to bed.

So, terrible 2s and all that - anyone got a "nipper"? E now loves to either scratch or nip any bare piece of skin he sees and thinks it's funny. He'll have learnt a few new words lately due to my reaction when he's grabbed my mummy-tummy.

Also, anyone else's head butt things including you, the floor, walls etc? I googled it & just seemed to be a frustration thing, but it's weird to see a toddler randomly bashing his head on the floor.

megonthemoon · 23/03/2010 13:50

DP - my DS sometimes does enthusiastic headbutting of the palm of my hand or my lap or my boobs, but nothing inanimate or hard yet. He seems to do it for fun rather than out of frustration as he always has a huge grin on his face and it is often when we have been rolling around on the floor or something! Weird boy... No advice on nipping for you, but wondered if anyone has got any advice on how to stop DS luzzing things at my head (narrowly avoided being hit in the face by a pound coin yesterday which freaked me out somewhat...)

Dontpanic · 24/03/2010 13:58

Ta meg, sorry, no advice on the pound coins, I'm suffering from bashed skullitis from toy cars, planes, happyland attractions etc coming into quick and sharp contact.
My boy is showing his Belfast DNA a little too well
