Sorry I've not been around much lately ladies. M has been a terrible pain over the past few days and won't leave me alone for five minutes! Then in the evenings I have been selling stuff and packaging things up!

M is back to normal today and the last thing I was selling sold tonight so I'll be around again. Not much going on here..... very boring.

OP posts:
pepperrabbit · 24/02/2010 21:32

I'm bored too. watching a Miss Marple repeat all alone again downstairs while my patients sleep upstairs.
We think DH has a migraine not the bug as he's had a splitting headache - but he's been laid up since Sunday and I'm exhausted really.
Chocolate is helping.
I've told work that I'll work from home as there's no way DH can look after DS1 or drive the little ones to nursery tomorrow.
Also means I don't have to catch the bus at 6.50am!!!! A silver lining!!

CantSleepWontSleep · 24/02/2010 21:35

Whatcha sellin?

50ft glad M is better again - are you raising funds for more exciting shopping??
myjob, for sore throat, that's no fun.
On a big plus I weighed myself this morning - I've been trying to get below 10st forever since before I had DS2
and this morning I weighed 9st 13 + 3/4 !!!!!
though I had taken my glasses off (as you do)
.
I shan't ever weigh myself again of course, just rest on my laurels!

RachieW · 24/02/2010 21:58

Hello sorry I've been absent again. J and I went to my Mum's for half term and I didn't really have a chance to get on line. We're all fine though, J's started to say some real words, well I know what he means. We have 'poo', 'toast', 'Tooas' (Thomas- the tank), 'nonny' (Noddy) and finally mummmy

I hope everyone is ok, I'm too far behind to catch up much but I'm glad Q is happy with the CM Star and I'm glad M is better 50ft.

Oh I watched One Born Every Minute for the first time last night and cried all the way through

50ftQueenie · 24/02/2010 22:20

I have been selling...... nappies! Myjob nearly died of shock when she saw. I have bought a few bits of clothing for the DC and a bag for me.

Ah Pepper, you know he's just got an ordinary headache but because he's a man it's 100 x worse. Well done on the weight! I meant to tell you that my anti-wrinkle cream smells of lavender! Ha ha ha! Such an old lady smell.

Sorry about the sore throat Myjob.

Hello Rachie. Yay for the words.

Ekka · 25/02/2010 09:46

Well, some hopeful news on the potty training front (dd not ds, obviously!). We have gone two days in her peppa pig pants, without any accidents and with a fair amount of her taking herself to the toilet rather than me asking every 5 minutes. Including several (nervewracking) outings! So there may be light at the end of the tunnel. And just as I'd bought another pack of pull-ups, as is always the way

Off out to make the most of a break in the rain. will read more later!

StarExpat · 25/02/2010 09:58

oh sweet, Ekka! She must be so proud

myjob I hope your sore throat gets better And Pepper you need a professional exterminator to come in and de-bug your house! You poor thing!! I always wonder when we're sick if we just keep passing it around and it never really leaves our home no matter how much I disinfect

Rachie words are so exciting!

We were up a LOT ... um... well, I was up a LOT last night. Molars. Damn molars.

awww poor ds pistachio Enjoy the cuddles. It's hard work when they are like that at this age as they are so heavy now!

ronshar · 25/02/2010 10:27

Pepper. The pharmacy should only dispence seven days unless specifically prescribed otherwise. Sorry I missed you the other day.

W has been a nightmare. Snot and no sleep are a bad combination! For both of us.

Nappies, being sold! Not bought? My word the world must be ending and I hadnt noticed

Not much to contribute at the moment.

I hope all the sicky babies (& husbands) get better soon.

Off out for a cup of tea with a mum from school but will try and get back later.

KSal · 25/02/2010 12:35

hello everyone.... just thought i'd pop in and say hello as i hadn't been around for a while.

Emma is just lovely right now. she is also picking up lots of words and repeating what we say lots. She woke up early (again) this morning so DH brought her in with him so he could get some more kip (i get up way earlier than him) and i could hear her in the bed going 'eye, nose, ear' all the while she will have been prodding his face.... then i heard her say 'daddy sleeping' no such luck!

sorry to hear about your house of ill pepper, sounds like a nightmare.

and star - so glad to hear the CM is going so well, being confident and hapy in your childcare arrangements is essential for your sanity!

that's it - i have no interesting news. But if i do I'll be sure to come here and let you know

StarExpat · 25/02/2010 12:38

wow! I was impressed with Q's words until I heard about your dc... Now I'm a bit worried. He still garbles and babbles so much... would never in a million years say "daddy sleeping" that's great, though, Ksal! What fun!!

CantSleepWontSleep · 25/02/2010 13:27

Don't worry about speech yet star. Ds only says 'mumma' and very occasionally 'diddy'. I think that boys tend to be a bit behind girls in speech anyway, but it's still really really early for anything much from either sex.

ronshar · 25/02/2010 13:32

Star the quicker they talk the quicker they can give you lip. If a child isnt saying words properly by the age of two then it could be an issue but before then dont worry.
I have an appointment with speech & languge for next week. Apparently because H is being bullied, I dont call a bit of teasing bullying but hey ho, she is a priority. Will let you know how it goes. I shall also ask about normal speech as well, just for you Star

ksal, girls are always so much brighter than boys.

50ftQueenie · 25/02/2010 13:39

Agree with CSWS Star, girls do speak earlier than boys in general. M has a vocab of about 30 words now, I would say that 5 or 6 would be recognisable to people other than me & DH! Don't forget that Q was so far ahead of the rest of the babies with his physical development, he needs time to catch up with his speech.

Wow KSal! That is impressive speech from E! M is repeating lots of things too but she's not really putting two word sentences together. That's amazing for this age.

Ronshar - What do you think the money from the sale of nappies has been spent on.....? So did you speak to your hero yesterday?

Pistachio - You have my sympathy. M was clingy and terrible for about a week and is just back to herself now. It was so draining both physically and emotionally. Hope T is back to normal soon.

Ekka - Well done DD! It's such a relief when they finally 'get it' isn't it?

50ft, is it a bigger cabinet to keep them in?????

I bloody missed it.

50ftQueenie · 25/02/2010 13:56

Ummmm..... no. I have sold 15 nappies though. Aww what a shame. I was looking forward to seeing you being star struck.

OP posts:
ronshar · 25/02/2010 14:37

Your nappies are beautiful so they should be seen.

W has his own language.
Screaching on its own means I'm fed up. Screaching while hitting me with a bar means I'm hungry. Screaching while hitting me with a book means read to me now. Screaching while throwing stuff across the room generally means I'm angry because the toy/car/bricks are not doing what they are suppossed to be doing and I've had enough trying!!

He can say Hello Daddy clear as you like! Which is typical. I only feed him, get up in the night, change his nappies, get covered in his snot. Do I get a hello mummy? Not bloody likely.

ronshar!
Thanks csws I do realize that, but it's easy to forget when you're hearing other babies saying such clever stuff. I was so proud of "boyds" (birds).
OH!
He holds out his hand and folds his fingers repeatedly in toward him iyswim(?) and smacks his lips together and his tongue like people do to call a cat... because cm calls her cat this way. Everytime he sees that cat or any cat, he does it. SO cute. And this morning, he was at the window, smacking his lips and tongue and beckoning with his hand to the birds that he saw flying around! He was disappointed that they didn't come to him. lol

StarExpat · 25/02/2010 14:58

50ft I'm in total that you've let go of some of your fluff... I had to read that several times to believe it!
How do you feel today, myjob?

two words together is a relatively new thing and until this morning was limited to 'bye bye mummy', 'bye bye daddy' or 'bye bye granny'... oh and 'more please'
but i think she has heard us say those combinations a lot....
Emma: 'more... more...'
Me or DH: 'say more please, Emma'
and i'm sure most of it is only intelligible to me and DH

the daddy sleeping thing was just brilliant though.

i'm already getting worried that it won't be long before she can run rings round me...
