Happy Easter everyone

Inzi - Glad Jane is better now, Ben's sickness only lasted the night he was fine by lunchtime yesterday. Typical being sick whilst we were away though, I hate sorting out sicky kids when you aren't at home

Oh and how exciting about finding out the sex, I could never wait and see

Alice - hope you SiL gets all the care she needs and your friend gets in touch soon xx

I have had a busy day cleaning today, having a right good go at it, have done a load of ironing and cleaned the kitchen and utility. The bathrooms are tomorrows job

WhiteWineAndJaffaCakes · 04/04/2010 19:37

Alice - so sorry about your sil - must be good that they've picked up on it very early? Will she get to move somewhere more suitable if a mother & baby bed comes available? Hope you're ok - must be tough coming so close on the heels of what your friends are going through.

Inzi - poor Jane, (and poor you), it's awful when they get a tummy bug like that. At least it's usually over in 24 hours. And I'm very that she's never thrown up before! Hope she was well enough to enjoy the egg-painting.

LLL - wow at your house cleaning. Mine could do with the same but I'm not organised enough - I've started FlyLady's babysteps this month so I'll be super-organised soon! (Yeah, right!)

I felt a lot better yesterday - amazing what catching up on sleep can do! H popped round tonight (unannounced! - deep breath...) but is currently making himself useful by bathing Anya, so I'm catching up on here. I'm hoping the weather holds tomorrow so I can take Anya out for the day. (And now I'm resisting the temptation to go and rescue H who is trying unsuccessfully to persuade Anya to put pyjamas on. )

Thanks for supportive messages lovely ladies.

Boys have been lovely and we've had a great weekend. Thankfully sil doesn't seem to be anywhere near as bad as last time - she is due out of hospital tomorrow assuming nothing untoward happens between now and then with a lot of community support. fingers crossed...

not spoken to friends but had a couple of texts. I've made them a lasagne and some soup and texted today to say that I wanted to drop it off, that I respected the fact that they were not ready to see me and I would just leave it on the doorstep. I jsut texted because I didn't want to take it and then find they were away for a week and got back to a bag of mouldy food! I also didn't want to arrive when they were in the kitchen where they would clearly see me and feel awkward about not asking me in as I am happy just to drop and run if they want. As it is they are away till Tues so going to take it after work on Wed (on call Tues) and have said that I will drop and run unless I hear otherwise - I am very happy to come and give them both a big hug but equally if they still need time alone thats totally fine.

WWAJC missed in my skim read last time that your dh is being a bit crap - sorry and hope that its just him getting used to the different boundaries. Fingers crossed it improves soon...

Inzi very excited about your 20 week scan! Do you have a preference between pink or blue or just happy for a healthy baby?

Hello to the rest of you lovely ladies xxx

Posting from phone so this will be short. Terrible weekend, dareh sick on friday but seemed well sat so off to sil. Dareh woke me up at three am and literally threw up in my face! Then sick all day, then dh sick! Made it home last night.

Sil announced she is pregnant and that they are moving to big new house asap although their "small" house as she calls it is ten times the size of ours. Happy for them but the horrible part of me is jealous.

Off on a training course today. Will catch up with your posts at home as hard to read on phone.

Inzi - I am going to stick my neck out and say boy :-)

Glad Jane is better, I have a poorly Sam today, friday night was Ben it is now Sam's turn, not been sick yet but he has a temperature and is now asleep on sofa and he never sleeps in the day anymore.

Oh hum, just another Bank holiday

alicet · 05/04/2010 15:07

Inzi thanks for your support x I am going to say girl (just to contradict Lisa really )although I have absolutely no idea really . Will be looking forward to hearing your news!

Choc sorry to hear Dareh and dh have been ill. Think your jealousy is totally understandable - don't beat yourself up over it. Hope your course is good.

Lisa sorry to hear your boys have been ill too - fingers crossed they recover soon...

Well dh is on the way home (should be here in about 30 mins!) as sil is coming out today. All good! Boys have been lovely this weekend but I am not a fan of being a single mum! Don't know how you manage NC or WWAJC...

babyblue4 · 06/04/2010 00:23

Inzi Glad Jane is doing better. I am going to guess BOY!! Hope your scan goes well and that your little bean is co-operative! I have also started spring cleaning. Though it is going much slower since I dont have too much free time. Besides, the weather here has been fab, so who wants to spend the day inside cleaning!

Alicet Hope your SIL is ok.

Choc Hope Dareh feels better as well. I cant believe this bug is STILL working its way around!

Creme Eggs So I tried the recipe and it was a wonderful success!!! I took them to the outlaws place for Easter Sunday dinner, and they were gone in a flash!! Tasted just like the real thing, even if they didnt look as pretty! They were a little fussy to make, but not as bad as what I thought. Also made Oreo-filled eggs and they were good too (Off Bakerella site).

Hope everyone had a wonderful weekend. DCs are back to school tomorrow, so I will be able to breathe again!! LOL. They are a handfull lovely bunch!

Sofia is asleep on the sofa right now, as we missed her nap time. My work had an Easter party for the kids today, so she was busy running around hunting eggs, colouring, decorating cookies and just chasing her older siblings. Went well, though I was tired afterward. Not used to going out with all 4 without DH to lend a hand. She refused to sit with the Easter bunny for photos though! LOL. She was terrified and would only sit with DD1.... but later had no problem waving to him as he passed by. LOL

Anyway... off to clean up the house a bit. Looks like a tornado has gone through. DH will be home soon and will wonder what I did all day! LOL

FloriaTosca · 06/04/2010 14:34

Briefly; I hope you all had fab Easter hols.

Alice; so sorry you sil has had a return of the psychosis even briefly, but thrilled that she is out of hospital already. I hope she completely recovers quickly and can enjoy her newborn this time. Well done for supporting your friends through this sad time, they will want you hugs soon enough.

muppet;from your fb report it sounds like you are having a great time with your boys.

LLL; I could do with some of your cleaning energy here..this place had become an absolute tip. Glad Ben is ok now...I dont envy any of you who have had to cope with this vomiting bug.[sympathetic emoticon]

Dal; I hope day 1 on your own with the boys is going well

Inzi;Glad Jane is recovering too....I'm guessing a boy this time Good luck with the decorating...can't wait t hear about fridays scan

HOG hope all is ok with you.

BB4 your good weather..we have had snow again, heavy rain all weekend and bitter cold yesterday...those eggs sound wicked, just the remedy for weather like this.

Choc;sorry to hear Dareh has had the bug too. I hope he is completely over it too. It is completely understandable to be a wee bit of your sil with her new home and new baby on the way...your time will come eventually.

WWAJC; You are allowed to vent here...that is what we are for. Where else can you do it when you are trying to keep the peace with friends and family for Anyas sake? If you fancy a meet up when you have a spare moment give me a bell.

Busy week here as Dh has been off and we have been all over the place....Yorks Royal Armories Museum to watch the jousting competition yesterday...fabulous. Alex now has a plastic helmet and sword and keeps handing you the scabbard and saying "en guard" (though it sounds more like "in garden" ) Only prob being I put my back out carrying Alex (who had fallen asleep just at the end of the final) up the stairs of the multi storey car park so Dh has had to go to Scotland to pick up Alex new Thomas the Tank Engine Bed (ebay bargain) on his own...I'm because we had intended meeting up with my old pals in Largs (not seen them in 2 yrs)but I could never manage 5 hrs in the car with my back like this as I need to do stretching excersises every 15 mins or so. Dhs birthday tomorrow so need to get cake made and steak and ale pie started (his favourite)while he is driving all day ....hope everyone I haven't mentioned individually is ok.

babyblue4 · 07/04/2010 19:07

FT - Hope your back starts to feel better. Good time to get a massage! therapeutic reasons of course!

Dal - How are you managing?? BF going better? How is Dylan enjoying being an older brother??

Just a short post today. Feeling a bit tired. Have put myself on a diet to try and shed the last stone of baby bulge, plus I ran this morning, plus Marco has been waking every 4 hours again. I am knackered! A vacation and a maid would be lovely about now!!

Dalrymps · 07/04/2010 22:01

Just popping in to say I am reading even though I haven't had time to catch up and post properly.

Day 1 with the boys went great, day 2 a bit more frazzled due to Miles having a feeding frenzy this morning and being up through the night a bit more last night. Am a little sore from the feeding but I think it's due to me not concentrating on getting the latch right all the time. Sometimes he just sucks the nipple in when he's fussing and isn't latched on that well but I let him feed cause he's hungry and I don't want to disturb him, I know it's wrong cause it just makes me sore, must try harder to get it right every time.

Anyone experienced having a good latch but then as they get to the end of the feed it starts to pinch a bit? This also keeps happening even if I hold him and my boob in place for the whole feed. Can't work out why?!

Am pretty tired right now but I am thinking of you all... Will try post more often when I get in to a routine.

Alicet - hope your sil recovers quickly.

Floria - Hope your back is better soon

BB4 - Sleepy vibes to Marco. I feel tired just reading abuot your running and dieting, you have more will power than me!

Inzi - I'm guessing boy

WWAJC - Hope your H starts to understand you need time to yourself.. Maybe you should just tell him straight then there's no confusion.

Choc - Hope Dareh is ok now.

LLL - Hope ben is ok now and sam isn't too ill...

Mine - Hi, I know I just 'spoke' to you on fb, hope you're doing ok and today was just a one off bad day x

Sorry if i've missed anyone, off to snuggle with dh before milk monster wakes again x

chocolatestar · 08/04/2010 15:56

Both boys recovered and thankfully I seem to have missed out on the vomit fest.

Feeling hellish in other ways, horrible anxiety attack in town today. Was there with Dareh and it was just silly stuff that set me off. I bought too much stuff at boots and had to put stuff back, then I didn't have my card and Dareh was getting upset and that was all it took. Crazy. I thought I was going to be sick and we had to come home. Will call the Dr tomorrow to try and get an appointment.

Alice I think you are such an amazing friend.

BB, how you feeling today? Hope a bit more rested.

Dalry, not sure why that would be happening. I know I had to really hold Dareh close during his early day feeds.

Floria sorry you missed out on your trip, how horrible for you. Back pain is hellish. I see a sports therapist for mine now which more or less keeps it in check but sadly not pain free. Love the story about 'in garden', too cute.

Right feel better now I have done some typing. Poor Dareh is watching a peppa pig DVD, his second today, so can add being crap mum to my general list of uselessness.

chocolatestar · 08/04/2010 16:14

Forgot to say - how the hell do you all afford your childcare costs? I just visited a nursary and there is no way we can manage to pay for it! What we will do come August I have no idea.

LisaLessLumpy · 08/04/2010 21:14

FT - Hope your back is getting better, sorry you missed out on your trip.

BabyBlue I too am on a diet and exercise regime to try and lose my last stone, its ridiculous 2 and a half years on and its still holding on to my tummy and thighs. I manage to lose half a stone then something like a holiday or xmas happens and I put it all back on again

At the moment I am managing about 4 x 1 hour sessions on the Cross trainer each week. Also back on the healthy eating lark and trying to reduce the snacky day moments (ie, finishing off the boys food )

I have lost 4lb so far in two weeks, long may it continue

Dal - Glad all is going well in the Dalrymple household, keep on persevering, I found the first month really difficult with Sam but once my boobs became used to the feeding it was much simpler than bottles

Chocolatestar - hope you are feeling better now and get sorted at the doctors. By the way DO NOT THINK YOU ARE A USELESS MUMMY letting Dareh watch DVD's, I am quite happy to admit we have the TV on all day, it is so normal now for the boys they don't tend to sit glued to it, they play at the same time. Plus its the only way I can get anything done around the house.

Right am off now to eat my dinner that DH has made

strawberrylace · 08/04/2010 21:17

hello everyone!
popping by to say hello to you all, and hope you are ok. i am just waiting for DH to come home from fixing his dad's computers so we can have some tea - i am so hungry!!

chocstar - a) you are not a crap mum - DS watches plenty of DVDs - he loves them, his fave at the mo is Bolt - they help him to chill out in the same way as we watch tv to relax. if Dareh watching two peppa dvds makes you a crap mum, then I'm one with you! b) childcare costs are a nightmare, but i found the having a childminder was a bit cheaper and more flexible. you might be able to sign up for a salary sacrifice scheme that takes some of your money before tax for childcare vouchers which could help?
Floria - hope your back is better
Dal - glad the feeding is going a bit better now
babyblue - you amaze me with all your activity - i come in from work and can just about manage to cook tea before i want to go to bed!
Alicet - hope your sil is feeling better
Inzi - i think it's going to be a girl...
NC/LLL/muppet/all the others i've forgotten - hope you are well

chocolatestar · 08/04/2010 22:07

Thanks, i hate it when I am so anxious i can't enjoy my time with him. He watched loads of tv today.

I need to be better with my eating too, eat too much sugar. Think I am addicted to chocolate!

Hope you got fed strawberry!

Inzi-That is so great, I am so so happy for you. Did you and Dal know that it is the year for the tigers, so you'll both have a piggy and a tiger cub

hmmm-what's going on? Well, so many different things I wouldn't know where to start, and tbh most of them pale in comparison to what others are going through so don't want to whine, plus not had chance to reply to everyone yet.

Will just let you know what Shannon did this morning, DD1 took her down as I have a stinking cold and was still in bed this morning, next thing I know DD1 has dragged her up to my room, she'd opend, drawn on and cut(God know's where she got the scissors from!) up DD1s birthday cards that where on the table and ripped open an ebay package that needed sending which had a little dress and pants in from when she was a baby, she'd then stripped naked and put the pants on, needless to say I burst out laughing, DD1 was extreemly annoyed with her but I was just glad that it wasn't nail varnish everywhere which is what I thought when I heard the screeching at first.

Have just baked burnt and cut the black bits off a cake for DD1 and her mates are due for a sleep over any time now, it is actually her birthday Sunday but also my nephews christening, so she's having her 'do' tonight.

Kid's back at school Tue so should be around more next week.
Childcare, pah! It's going to cost me a fortune over the next few weeks as I haven't got any assignments done at all as all my family are selfish twats and I'm going to just have to bite the bullet and put Shannon in nursery for 2 or 3 days a week to get it done.
Oh and just so I can have a little moan-Can you believe that my brother compared me getting myself and the 2 girls, well, mainly Shannon ready for the christening to himself, wife and 3 month old baby ready. bloody stupid funking pig.

Right better go, sorry to not have replied to everyone.
just quickly from what I remember..
Alice-Hope your sil is ok, at least you where all prepared for it this time
How are your friends doing? I bet it's killing you that you can't pratically do anything yet. There will be in time x

WWAJC-Definately tell DH so that he know where the boundaries are, he can't just turn up when he likes, he wouldn't do that to work or a dental appointment would he!

Choc-How you doing? Sorry you've all been ill x

FT-Hope the back improves soon as. How's the thomas bed? Does A love it?

Dal-Not suprised you're tired, not sure about the bf, can you contact the bf counsellor again?

Who've I missed out??

BB, LLL, Strawberry....love and hugs to you, will reply when I get chance! xxx

NeedCoffee · 09/04/2010 16:19

ps-Choc-Shannon sometimes has a Dora DVD on throughout the day, the other day it was repeated 4 times, that's about 4 hours. Keeps em quiet and keeps us sane(ish)

chocolatestar · 09/04/2010 16:53

NC please talk to us if you want too, no need to worry about catching up when you have other crap going on.

I managed to get an appointment with the Dr for next Friday so just need to survive until then and figure out what I am going to say to her.

DH being an arse today, he is tired which means he believes he has a licence to talk to me like shit. Fun.

Inzi great news! Boy's are great, Dareh is pretending to me George today from Peppa Pig.
