I found that an effectve way to get my son to behave is to regularly take him for a very short haircut. As a result he knows who's boss and doesnt misbehave. Clare.

TwilightSurfer · 29/01/2010 00:39

Did I miss something?

springaporesling · 29/01/2010 03:53

You and me both TS DS does need a haircut though wonder if it will make him behave?

Sazz Hope you win the war - I'm sure you can buy lots of traps for 30k!

Cyteen the dress is gorgeous.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY MIAMLA

poppysocks · 29/01/2010 09:15

Wow LOTI - what a dress! Not sure how well I've kept up with this but prefer the latest link to the yellow one anyway and think the yellow boots would go well. '70s a-go-go.

All go in your house Sazzles - new jobs, violent mugging, sojourns a Paris and mouse slaying. Can barely keep up. Must say we actually prefer Easyjet to some of the scheduled airlines as they let families board first and choose their seats. Usually seems to mean that the families sit together, allowing the children to entertain one another and the child-tutters to sit away from us. Ryanair however....

Congrats on the lease dizzy. Hope you get a chance to relax, catch up on sleep and admire your empire soon.

Sounds like a fab weekend you have planned cyteen.

So sorry to hear you've been so ill TS. Have the ABs kicked in yet? Hope so!

V. exciting house hunt hp. Having moved around constantly as a child (23 houses in first 22 years ), I have a compulsive urge to closely examine every estate agents' window we pass. Drives DH, who lived in the same house from birth to uni, bonkers. Celebrated 3 years in this house this week though and happy to say feet are barely itching (for me ).

Nothing of any interest to report here. Work busy/stressful/going ok (I think), good friend moved back to NZ but v. nearly the weekend .

hotterpotter · 29/01/2010 09:25

Loti I love that multicoloured dress, and if I had any sort of figure to wear it would team with those yellow boots and some opaque tights in pink or orange

Wotcha Poppy and everyone

I am at work considering whether to go on a 4-day H&S course in Doncaster and have found out I am expected to go to a H&S/wellbeing network group meeting in March which means a stay in a hotel, woo hoo

Missed that... Happy Birthday miamla!!!

poppysocks · 29/01/2010 09:42

Hello VG. How are things? Must say when considering my at Ryanair, among my thoughts was the memory of you missing the January meet last year because of those feckers. Am braving my first flight alone with both girls in a few weeks AND it's with Ryanair. Eek.

Do you have decent colleagues with whom you'd be pleased to be stuck in a hotel hp? Can't think of anything worse than being couped up with mine, although might be swayed by a mini-bar .

alittlebitshy · 29/01/2010 12:39

hots and buckets i decided to keep a track of what I am reading and as well as writing it in my diary I am using Visual bookshelf on Facebook. Is quite satisfying! Think am on my 7th book of the year, so feel quite happy (2 were in the twilight series so had to read them fast as I was so hooked. holding off the next one for a few days so i can savour it!)

CaptainCaveman · 29/01/2010 14:49

BRrrrrrrrr it's so chilly outside .

Hello gang, I have been MIA for a few days, just mad busy at work and home but am off now til monday so ahhhhhhh,

O currently napping on my bed cuddling his piglet and his bear .

My friend's ds who is 7 weeks older than O, can spell. He can actually fecking spell! We sat in Costa this morning and he pointed to the letters on the cup and spelt out c-o-s-t-a . He has a massive vocabulary and he recognises numbers too. I keep telling my friend he's about 3 years ahead of himself!! Is it just me or does that seem a bit young to be doing that? Maybe the next Dougie Howser

alittlebitshy · 29/01/2010 14:55

cc gawd - he is a bit ahead of himself. has she been pushing him? .

cold here too (though it might help if i put the heating on). i hear there was snow about 3 miles from here, so who knows.....

Ought to wake ds up soon - he's been asleep 2.5 hours i think. normally he is up and we are on the school run by now but dd is at an interview so no school run [bliss]. BUT she is having a friend to sleep over tonight {hell on earth}

TwilightSurfer · 29/01/2010 15:18

Popping on quickly to wish Miamla a Merry Merry Day. I had your wish typed last night but DD1 interrupted my posting and now I'm sure it's hanging in limbo on my other laptop.

Desperately trying to keep up to date reading but my replies are getting pushed to the back burner because of 1 million reasons....just pick one.

Be back later I PROMISE!

(((((hugs))))) to all

Happy birthday Miamla.

DS and DD1 are playing hide and seek, and dd2 has just hidden herself in the understairs cupboard in the dark. She won't let us let her out .

She can't count - disgraceful I know.

Dd1 counts interminably though, so if you say 'one' to dd2 in that 'woooooooooonnnnnnnnnn' way that toddlers count she shouts 'doooooooooooo'

DS was a precocious pup but didn't know many letters before he started school.

Her latest trick is to wander round looking for ds 'singing' 'whe ah ooo'. 'Tis v. cute.
