TwilightSurfer · 22/01/2010 12:53

Hi. Only breezed the millions posts since my last appearance. Sazzles sorry to hear you're having a shitty time of it with the girls. Oops glad you made it Down Under...I hear theirs an Open going on.

Ladies I feel like udder crap. I'm keeping busy and trying to ignore it but if I had a fever (and a head cold) I'd say I have the flu. I'm achey all over, don't want to eat and need sleep like never before.

CaptainCaveman · 22/01/2010 12:58

Hi all. Have had

TS Bung a DVD on and to bed with you.

Miamla That loss of earnings line - the only response to that is laughter surely? My sister has a v difficult MIL who has been 'getting at her' since my sis was just 16 (she and BIL were childhood sweethearts). She has finally reached the point where it is water off a ducks back and she just laughs in her face, the woman's self-centredness is so bizarre it's not worth listening to. MIL lives in France so she only has to deal with her a few times a year luckily.

I have taken up Cyteen's suggestion and dyed that duvet cover bright primary purple (happened to have in the cupboard) along with some stained/girly baby clothes. Looks amazing!

Feeling positive today, had friend round for lunch and am out with DH tonight for tapas and Smiths tribute gig, hurrah.

I'm coming cece and I'll bring my mouse and my monster

lwfhthevampireslayer · 22/01/2010 14:35

ooooh, do you want to know something nice? One of my students from a couple of years ago has just got his project published as an article. Nice for him, and nice for me too as he asked if I wanted to be a co-author. My CV still has a big baby related gap (!), but this is still a nice update.

Both babies asleep. House needs some work.

I won't even detail what I have eaten in the past 24 hours so am avoiding HotMamas, although I suspect that this won't help the issue.

at the meetup. I hope that you have a lovely time. PS Buenos Aires is very warm at this time of year ...

CaptainCaveman · 22/01/2010 14:40

lwfh I vote the next meet up be in BA then

Oliver slept for 2hrs 40 mins . I nearly even hoovered the lounge but then caught hold of myself and sat down to drink tea instead.

Trying to work out what to bribe soothe ds1 with after school. He was meant to be going to his friends house for tea but they had to cancel. He was crying when he couldn't go last week How sad that I have to bribe my pfb!

CaptainCaveman · 22/01/2010 14:41

nice job by the way lwfh, so what is the title of said publication?

Miamla · 22/01/2010 16:16

DS not v happy over lunch but had a lovely relaxing time at albs's until my mum phoned, to..... wait for it..... ask me to change the date of the wedding for the sake of my brother's and her happiness

seriously... what planet is she on????!!!!! what about my fucking happiness in not wanting to get married any later because i'll look like an elephant? apparently more important to her that my bro's there. yup, she pretty much said that

cyteen · 22/01/2010 16:30

Tell them they are welcome to come on YOUR day or not at all. Don't forget to stress the YOUR.

OP posts:
Miamla · 22/01/2010 16:42

thanks cyteen, forgot to say... your comment earlier about my brother was brilliant!

i'm starting to feel that IABU

cyteen · 22/01/2010 16:45

That's the whoremoans talking, dear Keep repeating to yourself: IANBU.

IANBU IANBU IANBU IANBU IANBU IANBU IANBU IANBU IANBU IANBU IANBU IANBU IANBU IANBU IANBU IANBU IANBU IANBU IANBU IANBU IANBU IANBU IANBU IANBU IANBU IANBU IANBU IANBU IANBU IANBU IANBU IANBU IANBU IANBU IANBU IANBU IANBU IANBU IANBU IANBU IANBU IANBU IANBU IANBU IANBU IANBU IANBU IANBU IANBU IANBU IANBU IANBU IANBU IANBU IANBU IANBU IANBU IANBU IANBU IANBU IANBU IANBU IANBU IANBU IANBU IANBU IANBU IANBU IANBU IANBU IANBU IANBU IANBU IANBU IANBU IANBU IANBU IANBU IANBU IANBU IANBU IANBU IANBU IANBU IANBU IANBU IANBU IANBU IANBU IANBU IANBU IANBU IANBU IANBU IANBU IANBU IANBU IANBU IANBU IANBU IANBU IANBU IANBU IANBU IANBU IANBU IANBU IANBU IANBU IANBU IANBU IANBU IANBU IANBU IANBU IANBU IANBU IANBU IANBU

OP posts:
Miamla · 22/01/2010 16:58

fucking whoremoans are uninvited to my wedding!!!!!!

i really thought that having a short-notice wedding would be, like poppy said, self-selecting. The people who want to be there, will make the effort and vice versa. Bro has apparently signed a contract with work that means he can't leave until end of april (he's working abroad) which is why he asked about loss of earnings

DS is well trained...he's taking the wrappers of lindt chocolates, putting the wrappers in a pile and giving me the chocolates

TwilightSurfer · 22/01/2010 17:02

PREGNANT? Seriously ladies, the swimmers have been NIXED. I'm just feeling like a old lady I suppose. Thanks for all the well wishes.

Miamla now might be a good time to remind you I flew to Las Vegas to get married. JUST ME AND DH. Now worries. No hassle. NO GUESTS! You are not being unreasonable. This is YOUR WEDDING, YOUR DAY, YOUR SPECIAL MOMENT.

Took my headache to DD1's school for lunch. Took Reese too. Normally she sleeps through all the NOISE. Today....NOT! Fussed most of it. That REALLY helped the headache.

......lost brain transmission

cyteen · 22/01/2010 17:02

If he's being this much of a twat about it, you will be better off without him there. Just think, one less black cloud to threaten your party!

OP posts:
Miamla · 22/01/2010 17:19

how's your head feeling now TS?

yup, you're right.. he will prob cause problems with one of my uncles and dad's wife if he's there anyway. the uncle is incidentally my mum's brother but she forgets how horrible he is to him when she's busy sticking up for him. I might have to remind her later if she brings up the subject of me changing my wedding date. needless to say, not going to mention mum's comments to DP otherwise she'll be uninvited too!

right, there will be no more moaning on this particular subject! thank you girls, yet again, you rock!!

Miamla · 22/01/2010 17:19

question for you all... how long would it take DS to empty a whole packet of baby wipes?

answer: less time than it took me to type the above!

TwilightSurfer · 22/01/2010 17:28

I think I need an intervention.

I bought this bathing suit today. As if I don't have a dozen other bathing suits.

Miamla head still hurts. Body still hurts for that matter. I've just taken some motrin and opened a bottle of vitamin water containing a multitude of B's.

Reese is self feeding herself peanut butter with a spoon. I'm sure she will loose interest soon and just start licking the peanut butter from the container.

alittlebitshy · 22/01/2010 18:18

ts ugh re aches and pains.

miamla . you know my feelings on the matter though

Just taken dd for an emergency shoe buying trip. she has a 7+ exams tomorrow (her choice, not ours) and i thought her scruffy school shoes and scuffed boots are not quite good enough. Unfortunately i could onlt get black shoes, so they look schoolish but dd is happy cos they have those fecking lovely toys inside the sole.

Chinese takeaway and West Wing tonight, then to bed with my vampire (New Moon came in the post, swoon).

We need a southern meet up!!!!! Ideas anyone? Happy to host if that works but it may not be the best location. .

hotterpotter · 22/01/2010 19:12

Hope to be back on later and sympathise with you miamla on the twattishness of your brother

Just wanted to say though, thanks to all for your pudding suggestions, but I ended up making these brownies, flipping heck they were delicious in fact DD thought they were a little bit too chocolatey , oh well, more for me

Bed time for babies...

luckoftheirish · 22/01/2010 19:34

you sending your headache across the water ts??? my head is banging..

night 2 of putting the girls to bed myself.. dd2 singing baa baa black sheep to herself and dd1 stomping around her room... need them to go to sleep!!!!!!!

miamla.. your day, your choices.. if people cannot take that on board they are not your concern.. STAY STRONG...XXX

CaptainCaveman · 22/01/2010 20:15

albs don't you have a church we could meet up in? Nice bit of fellowship!
