Sazz If you need to reboot it (will lose everything on the planner though if not already lost), do this: On the System Settings menu, press (0) (1) (select) Then select Full System Reboot. Also worth unplugging and restarting first if you haven't tried that yet.

Brilliant idea about making a quilt, thanks VG, it could just perch on top of a double bed couldn't it? Not sure I fancy a white one though, surely quilts are meant to camouflage cat hair/dirt and not get washed so often? Could I applique a patchwork effect on it if I made enough patches? Could always machine bias binding or ribbon over any dodgy applique stitching. LOL at me getting round to making enough patches but would be a good ongoing project and I could recycle old clothes for scraps.

You could always go the Dylon route Gladioli Hides a multitude of sins.

I have been given a shit haircut, as you may have seen from my FB. The perfect end to a day that started with DS waking at 5.

Oh dear, sympathy all round - tea for Sazz, hat for Cyteen (though I bet it's not as bad as you think, my guess is that you can carry it off whatever they've done), big stick for Miamla and her bro. Hope all your evenings have got better since you posted.

Discovered a new playgroup today and DD was thrilled. She was really independent even though she'd never been there before, not really checking where I was, like she used to, much at all. They had some of those enormous bouncy balls (gym balls? like you can use in pregnancy/labour?) which were nearly as tall as her but which she loved staggering about with. She's been very cute today in fact, lovely girl . DH taught her to say her name when you ask 'who's cute/beautiful/clever/adorable/modest'... and we were playing this when quite spontaneously she answered 'who's lovely' with 'mama'! Needless to say she got a lots of hugs and kisses and so that is now a fixed part of the routine

morning afternoon evening all

What day of the week is it?

Miamla - good news aout the scan. I will make sure I pop online to see your news on Monday

We went to the aquarium and wildlife world yesterday and DD got to meet a koala VERY close up and feed it leaves.

Hope you all get some sleep, jetlag has hit DD and we were up for 4 hour between 1 and 5. DH now tking her to find me breakfast front the deli!

CaptainCaveman · 22/01/2010 07:04

Morning ladies, I'm just going to pop the kettle on, so what'll it be?

cyteen haven't seen your fb pic yet, will check later. Did you think it was shit as soon as they'd finished cutting, but dare not say anything for fear they'd make it worse? How is it feeling/looking today?

miamla is your bro married? at asking you to change dates!!

buckets lol at your scattergun approach. I am just the same, especially at work this week. My desk speaks volumes - it's covered in bits of paper and post-its with lots of things scribbled everywhere . Must get more organised....yet that in itself requires some organisation . Oh well, love me as I am

dizzy I love you too , in fact that goes for all of you

ds1 up at 5.55 . Note, not 6am but 5.55. The 5 prefix makes it all the more obscene. He promptly managed to wake me, followed by ds2 and then an even more grumpy dh . Cue me and boys downstairs by 6.05. Nice.

Miamla · 22/01/2010 08:16

morning all, not good here. DP had a strop because i'd forgotten to dry pants and tshirt for him last night. Bro having a shit fit about me not giving people enough notice for our wedding (no CC, he's not married, suspect he never will be). Moaning at how i didn't take into account people in other countries who work etc. erm actually no i didn't its our day BUT everyone else is making the effort to change their work days if necess and booking flights. FFS. Is it awful to admit that actually the day will be better if he doesn't go? If he's not there he can't cause trouble. He has made his feeling about DP very clear in the past. Hates my dad's new wife. and is generally a bit of a cock. nothing new there, we've never really got on. when it appears we are, it is mostly pretense on both our parts.

apologies for rant... i'm tired, hormonal and emotionally drained

lucky albs has got my company for lunch today! I reckon a slab of chocolate cake will help

meanwhile, DS being adorable and actually offering me kisses and stroking instead of me begging for them!

ooh, got to go Chuggington's on and DS needs me to dance to the theme tune with him

RedLentil · 22/01/2010 09:02

Offer to post the wet pants to his mammy for her to dry. Then go on strike.

on your behalf.

Miamla · 22/01/2010 09:30

thanks Red, you made me smile! its ok, DP realises he over-reacted. just bro to deal with, but you know what, i'm not changing anything, if he can't make it.tough. if this makes me a bridezilla? tough! He actually had the audacity to ask if we were going to compensate him for loss of earnings that weekend!!!!!!

RedLentil · 22/01/2010 09:31

Good answer to anyone who queries your activities when you are pregnant: 'I was busy building a baby's spine.'

RedLentil · 22/01/2010 09:36

at loss of earnings.

Miamla · 22/01/2010 09:44

re building a baby's spine! i will definitely try and remember that one! its quite amazing how different a 2nd pregnancy is to the first. DP was very attentive, cooked dinner every night, took over house duties etc. Tis a little different this time round!

and yes, i was a little at his comment to! he's basically a very selfish person. has always got his own way. always had to have better bedroom/bike/toys etc than me as a child despite being 3yrs younger. he tries to be alpha male with me and gets upset when i don't accept orders from him. i could go on and on about troubles/strifes we've had growing up but i've accepted that we are just too different to get on. we put up with each other because we're siblings but we will never be friends as sad as it sounds. Even if he hadn't been working abroad, he would have found some way to cause problems with our wedding so his reaction really wasn't a surprise. Its quite astounding how different my two brothers are, the other one is complete opposite...fortunately!

right, time for nice fluffy thoughts and a hot shower whilst DS is sleeping. thanks for listening to my rant!

poppysocks · 22/01/2010 09:56

I too am at the loss of earnings miamla. And once again . I always rather fancied a short notice wedding like yours meaning that those who attend are a self-selecting bunch who really want to be there.

Sorry to hear about all the early risers and non-settling DCs. Is DD1 ok this morning sazzles? We've had some broken nights with poor DD2's broken gums. She's gained two molars and an eye tooth this week, poor thing. She's managed to self-settle each time, but woken up the rest of the house (bar DH of course ) each time.

Sorry to hear there's such a rollercoaster of emotion for you lentil, VG, Buckets. DH is a v. goal orientated person and is hugely keen on encouraging me to set challenges for myself. Frankly I can't really be arsed as 1. I'm lazy and 2. I quite like my life but I know he's right really in terms of getting more out of life. It's only a minor thing but a friend and I are going to do the 20 mile pink ribbon walk in May and far more excitingly, DH is now talking as though I will start a PhD when DD2 goes to school (small matter now of getting in but at least money, time etc. looking set). Still a while a way yet, but is really helping to feel that I'm not stuck in a rut work-wise etc. as I have an idea of how things will change (something else is bound to come up and change it altogether, but it's nice to have a plan ).

Good but knackering day yesterday. Early departure for London. Great meeting with fab outcome and back home again but only after being delayed by the most spectacular incompetence by BAA and spending 2 hours in, I swear to God, the longest queue of my life. If anyone has been to London City Airport, imagine a queue for security that snaked through the entire foyer, up the stairs and through the cafe leaving no space at all for people to get around. Thankfully our plane was held for us (and all the other passengers in the queue too) and got home at 10.30pm. Knackered today but girls being nice so far so all good....

Hello oops! Glad you made it there ok. V. . But do keep the progress reports coming. Need to vicarious enjoyment of your hol.

cyteen · 22/01/2010 10:13

miamla your brother, for example, is a twat.

cece the hair is kind of growing on me now, arf arf. Some of my best cuts have been ones I hated on sight, so perhaps it will all be okay. Of course, the real test will be when I wash it...Having said that, anything is better than my previous cavewoman fuzz. DP kindly countered my wailing last night with 'yes but cyteen, I don't think you appreciate how bad you've been looking lately'

Two girls sitting on the floor playing with lego.

miamla I agree, some brothers (mine included) are first class knob-heads. How about you offer to pay him not to come?

oops I'm guessing its night time now, but hope all is going well and jet lag has gone? very of the weather too

Have just been on hands and knees scrubbing the kitchen floor. O sleeping. Just got the bathrooms to do now...
