Happy 2010 everyone! Cast your mind back to this time last year... [soppy]

Too much wine - excuse for thread title should it be shite rubbish when I read it tomorrow. Thought it was time to wave goodbye to the festive one, although perhaps we should have waited for epiphany?

Try this Moosey and see if it works...it links to our fb photos page so you can see all the babies, don't think much has been added for a while. Maybe we should create a birthday album? Sorry DS is still not himself, he sounds like a very sweet and sensitive boy, hope he has a better day at school today.

Thank you for all Jude's birthday wishes. We just went to playgroup and they sang Happy Birthday to him (cue mascara running down my cheeks) and he had a little cake at breakfast time so Lily could see it too before she went to nursery. So now I am gearing up for my sit in...

Tink, Penguin assembley sounds very sweet, are there pics on FB?

120...grr at lack of sleep. We had a horrendous week last week....but have discovered something that seems to be settling Jude and helping him sleep through (its probably against every health and safety bit of advive but...) He always seemed to end up jammed in the corner of the cot, so I have put a toddler pillow in the end for him to lie on and to block the end of the cot andhe has been sleeping really soundly. It might be worht a try...

Pat, can't believe your school is snowed shut again, how annoying. Am at you living in the Cotswolds, must be very lovely to be surrounded by lush countryside.

Gumps, any news today?

Ray, how is the wedding planning going?

Stripey, saw th epics of C on facebook, she is the most adorable child ever, super cute.

Feel a bit guilty being on MN when I should be at work...so better do some work related stuff....will rpeort back this evening. x

stripeywoollenhat · 21/01/2010 12:07

moose, my fb page doesn't identify me, you could set one up as moose mama and that way you'd only wind up with people you know accessing your page. tree must have her photos set for everybody to see if you can view them.

lenni, i injured my back lifting something out of the car boot and the injury recurred a number of times, my physio told me it was the sacroiliac joint. it used to take about a week of rest to stop hurting. i had a good deal of physio for it, but i think in the end what sorted it out for me was taking up cycling to work - the daily exercise strengthened my stomach muscles enough to compensate for the weakness in my back. it's been a bit twingy since c arrived but pregnancy is pretty merciless to the stomach muscles, i suppose - trying to go to the gym regularly and that seems to be helping. i know it's impossible to rest properly with los who need lifting about the place, but i hope you are enlisting dp as much as possible...

ok, dp has taken c out for the morning and i have thousands of things i want to do, so back later

moosemama · 21/01/2010 12:08

Nope, HKZ it asks me to log in. Am hoping that if I get to meet some of you in Feb, dh might let me post some pics of my gang on fb for a short while at least.

Lenni · 21/01/2010 14:07

Hmm, I thought my absent weak stomach muscles might be to blame. Think I need to bite the bullet and get exercising again, 1 year post-baby is probably all the couch potatoing I need!

Lenni · 21/01/2010 14:09

You won't be able to see our fb group unless you belong to it as it is hidden. Have to say I'm liking this new approach by your dh though moose - there is hope!

Lenni · 21/01/2010 14:13

Sorry to keep triple posting I am working on my thesis and mning simultaneously so mind keeps wandering. Meant also to say good luck HKZ, will check in later to see what the news is, we shall not be moved vibes your way, and lots of hand holding too.

missjackson · 21/01/2010 15:15

At work so trying to catch up in dribs and drabs... tree yey for sleep, I posted on thread but here too will say you are very welcome to our graco swing, it was fab for about 6 weeks before my whopper got too big!
hkz tears here too - I can't read any of the birth stories without crying. Get really overwhelmed. Remember thinking at the time what a great birth story - hope my number two is the same!

ray yey for name back, I always thought of you as that too... is the deal on the house signed, sealed and delivered? how exciting! E sounds like she's doing great. N is walking but no words yet, although sometimes mama and dada hit the right moment .

Am so generally soppy at the moment - over-tired I think. Started work at 6am today and had to edit a story where Nicola was crying over missing her baby - I couldn't help crying too, which is totally ridiculous and wholly unprofessional ! Had to hide my tears and pretend it was a cold - shocking behaviour for an ice-cool tv producer! Sorry, that will only make sense to anyone watching the show. Which is probably about 0.5 of you.

Anyway must get on with it.... will try for more catch up later!

missjackson · 21/01/2010 15:17

ps Lenni I am same as you, must do some proper exercise! I have weird loose skin on my tummy - N pokes it when he's feeding sometimes, and laughs! Outrageous

Lenni · 21/01/2010 15:28

I'm vaguely following it MissJ - I want to be watching but am not really a tv person and keep forgetting. I read the website though from time to time just to keep myself in the loop. It must be overwhelming to go from being at home with Nye to that kind of full on job. Plus if you have hormones back too.

Still no words here really - mama, miiiiiiii (which I think means Milk??) and pointing which is so so cute esp at mealtimes. Who does have a talker? DD hardly spoke until she was 2yo, I don't think I must speak enough to them

tinksbabyis1 · 21/01/2010 15:52

My BFing emotions are still very high I think. Searched high and low for my pain au chocolat after one bite the other morning, and even started asking people if they had picked it up [suspicious psycho emoticon] - then found it in the microwave about an hour later .

So cute that DS is pointing, Lenni - can't wait for N to do that. They just get cuter and cuter don't they? But he also had his first mini-tantrum the other day when I wouldn't give him my iphone. He is mildly obsessed with it. Favourite toy by far

stripeywoollenhat · 21/01/2010 16:56

dp has an ipod touch that c gets very shouty about, missj - she is generally getting very indignant about things at the moment, and i think is really going to be quite some two year old... word-wise, we have 'cat', 'duh' (duck), 'bye bye', 'bur' (bird), 'tap', 'clap', 'toe', 'li' (light). she calls dp 'dah' (dp's name begins with d). she echoes a fair bit as well - eg. chair earlier today when i said it. but not a sign of mummy, and no walking here. pointing though, which is very sweet.

Evening all, we are reeling a bit here after our visit to the oncologist. his tumour has been narrowed down to either a neurofibroma or an epitheloid haemangioendothelioma. They are going to take a bigger biopsy next week to narrow it down, whatever it is is rare in babies. Anyway Jude is looking at 6-12 months of treatment, either chemo or interferon, which means staying in hospital every three weeks and all that sort of thing. They have booked him into to have a port inserted in a few weeks time and we have spoken with a lovely nurse at GOS who is explaining it all to us as we go along. he's also going to see a SALt about his food and swallowing etc. So it all seems very real now and I guess we are a bit in limbo whilst we wait for everything to start happening. DH and I are still a bit of how real it all is and how long term it seems.
I was thinking I might start up a seperate thread so am not taking up this one with this crappy cancer.
But really appreciate all your kind words and good vibes and volunteering for sit ins! Am off to drink a large glass of red.

Gumps · 21/01/2010 19:45

Poorly S here. Up from 115am to 345am. MissJ god bless CBB as I resorted to watching it at 330 and then he dropped off! I think it is teeth but he also had some jabs today and now has a temp of 37.8 after calpol. He is asleep now so will see what happens.
Still no AF.
HKZ how did it go today?
Tree any more sleep progress?

120 · 21/01/2010 19:45

no time to read as am shooting out the door. good luck tomorrow dog.

a thread I started this morning seems to have gone mahoosive, all on it's own.

drinks tonight AND drinks tomorrow. woo hoo. not sure how it'll go on only 2 hours sleep though...

HKZ - I really hope you are okay, I would be absolutely in pieces. Please don't even give a thought to clogging up the thread, although I can see the value in having somewhere else to talk as well as here since none of us have any experience with this and whilst we can do all the hugs in the world it might help to talk to someone who has actually been through this.

You have come this far and been so so strong you'll get through the next few months, and it'll be worth it when the tumour has gone and J is better. If there is absolutely anything we can help with, no matter how trivial, then please just shout. How is L? Does she understand much of what is going on?

Lenni · 21/01/2010 20:58

Tree - Have sent someone over to your other thread called Indith - she is only about sporadically so might not appear for a while but she lives reasonably close to you and has a DD a month younger than H who also doesn't sleep. She is from DD's postnatal thread and I'd say the two of you are cut from similar cloth. If she doesn't appear then you can find my other thread here we are all friendly, and have been going so long we don't really seem to discuss babies anymore!

moosemama · 21/01/2010 21:30

HKZ, talk/rant/cry as much and as often as you want to. We are all here for you and anything we can do to help we will do. Please don't ever hesitate to ask, no matter how big or small, we will do whatever we possibly can to support you. We are all sending you so much love, light and hugs and will be here to celebrate with you when J is all better.

PatTheHammer · 21/01/2010 22:01

Sorry, not in the mood to read much so missing lots but just wanted to lend support and an ear to HKZ. It all pales into insignificance really, sending lots of love and hugs to you, J and the whole family . lenni is right, you have been so string so please do use this as a forum to vent, cry, talk as much as you want. we all want to know exactly whats going on too, so don't worry about posting about it too much xx

PatTheHammer · 21/01/2010 22:04

P. S Dog you are booked in!! Hope tomorrow goes well for you.

major, major childcare issues here, have been let down badly and am a bit and about the whole thing. Basically going to have to pull DD out of pre-school, which she loves, but its a long story and nowhere near as important as some other issues people are having.

On a positive note, I finally won something on ebay, hurrah!!!!!!!!

PatTheHammer · 21/01/2010 22:10

Oh and at you not coming to the meet lenni (you know hotel pat is always open to you too!) but and yay at moosey thinking of coming!!!!!!!!! I must really start thinking of somewhere (don't worry moose, cotswold wildlife park was just a vague thought and I agree it is expensive, but good!)

Oh and Z still says the same 4/5 things he said at 10mths old. no progress at all as has been concentrating on walking, running and climbing. this is a very sweeping generalisation but the baby girlys on here do seem more vocal than the little chaps, who seem a bit more physical, I certainly notice a difference to my DD who was a some sort of vocal genius compared to Z.
