Just thought that I would get this started before the ante-natal thread gets filled up, not that I've had much time to post since I had DS but others might be able to multi-task better than I can!

I'm trying to work out when I got my bfp. I remember thinking that I would hold off testing until d30 which was dp's bday but I gave in and tested on day 24 which must have been April 17th.

I am going back to work for one week in july and then get 6 or 7 weeks off fully paid..... i work in a school!!!!

hendo77 · 27/03/2010 20:34

I'm doing the same as Sparkly - going back for last week of term in July then have summer holidays paid ready for proper return in September. I say 'proper return' but actually am only going back 3 days a week which I'm looking forward to.

GoldenSnitch · 27/03/2010 20:44

I left for maternity leave at the end of February 2007 and haven't been back yet

Can't remember when I found out I was pregnant with Catherine. It'll be written down in her baby book. I know I was here with DH though. With DS I tested during my lunch hour and had to wait for DH to get home to tell him.

LaDiDaDi · 27/03/2010 21:04

I tested at home, gave dd the stick to give to dp when he came home, she didn't know what it was and I had dried most of the wee of lol !

I'm not going back for the foreseeable future, probably much where you were with your DS1, Lee36! I work in lowpaid admin and DH has a decently paid job, so it's just not worth it for me to go back, I'd be paying nearly all my salary in childcare and travel, which I'm just not prepared to do and I am really lucky that DH can support us. We're planning to have another baby and then see where we are when the littlest one is able to either go to school or access some amount of free preschool (if it still exists by then).

GoldenSnitch · 29/03/2010 07:44

The running is paying off - weighed myself this morning and I've lost 1kg!! That's 2.2lbs!!

Very good going to say that my diet is still rubbish.

1kgs down - 19 to go

Claire236 · 29/03/2010 09:42

Well done GS.

A friend of mine had her baby girl this morning so enjoying my last few days of ds2 being a little baby as undoubtedly he'll look huge once I've seen a newborn.

Am I the only one going back to work full time?

Those who aren't bf. Are your periods regular yet? I went back on the pill & was having a period every 2 weeks then stopped taking it (long story) I think about 6 weeks ago & haven't had a period since. Been getting vague period type pains every now & then but nothing else.

Kingsroadie · 29/03/2010 10:43

Hi hi

I am not planning to go back to work. At least until however many children we have (hopefully 3) are in school. Probably - unless I get terribly bored and frustrated - but I think that is unlikely as I wasn't a great fan of work (perhaps laziness has something to do with it). I realise I am very lucky though. Thing is, I just don't have a job which I love and want to go back to anyway.

Claire - re periods - I have been on the pill since my 6 week check - so 11 weeks now and I have had quite a lot of breakthrough bleeding, ie not on the week break - it usually starts around 10 days before the last pill - ie halfway through the pack - which is very irritating. I mentioned it to the nasty GP (one is not nice and one is nice) who just said that apparently it happens for the first 2/3 months after going back on the pill and if it doesn't settle down then change pill. Am seeing nice GP today at 5 for P's jabs so will mention it then again. However, slightly different to you as you are off the pill - but I assume the principle of hormones still being up in the air will still apply!

GS - well done on the weight loss - good to know the effort is paying off.

LaDiDaDi - great news about your father! Mine has his operation today...

Happy Monday! Am exhausted today for some reason (probably to do with the fact we were out for a birthday last night which involved some booze and bed at midnight...)

Lee -

DS is still waking every 2-3 hours. I had a brief moment of hopefulness on saturday night when I thought he had slept from 11 - 3.20, but then realised my phone clock had changed automatically and so it was only 3 hrs 20 min in reality
I've got back to co-sleeping this week so I can catch up a little bit. It's such a shame, he is such a delightful baby, I feel I'm not appreciating him as much as I'm too tired

BexJ78 · 29/03/2010 12:47

Hi everyone. I am planning to go back to work in September. Hopefully will be working 3 days a week, but depends on what my manager has to say. i work in local govt, and we are likley to have big funding cuts in our service area, so there has been a hint that me coming back part time might be a good cost saving for the team. will suit me if they agree to it anyway!

Just looking a childminder details for September; some of them in our area are already booked up untol sept 2012! arrgghh!

anyway, hope you all had a great weekend. we had a ab time visiting friends, anna was really good and DH and i got chance to have a couple of glasses of vino, so all good! am defo starting a diet soon though; feeling very fat and flobby!

carupgrade · 29/03/2010 18:06

Well done GS!

Kings, hope that your dad's op goes well, is it for his prostate too?

Lee, I feel exactly like that, where is my tiny baby??? Disclaimer: I suspect he weighs around 11.5 pounds so still quite little but not teeny tiny and developmentally so different from how he was!

LaDiDaDi · 29/03/2010 18:08

Ooops , name changed for a different thread and forgot to change back to me!

Kingsroadie · 29/03/2010 20:31

Thank you! It went well thanks - it was for a 0.7cm kidney stone stuck in his ureter. So not terribly nice and he now has a stent in for 10 days which will be removed with on ly a local anaesthetic. poor him!

Persephone had her 16 week jabs today - a week late. But becuase of her cast had one in the bottom and two in the arms. she screamed but was shattered and in bed at 6:30. Poor little baby! Still, at least no more until she's 1...

woohoo!

GoldenSnitch · 29/03/2010 21:13

I did wonder who carupgrade was and why she was congratulating me! Hi LaDiDaDi, thanks

Catherine had her 12 week jabs today, 2 weeks late. Poor baby screamed and they went in her legs - poor Persephone! She calmed down quite quickly but every time the Nurse looked at her, she started crying again. Poor woman, she must hate that part of her job.

Entered the Race for Life 10k today so I have till June to get back to running that distance. I've done it before so I'm confident I can do it only worry is the time scale. I was doing 11k before but was able to leave DS at home while I went out. Catherine breastfeeding will make things tougher. The lighter evenings should help though. I should be able to go out when DH gets back from work. My friend wanted to enter a half marathon too but I've persuaded her tp wait and see how 10k training goes before we get carried away! Gives me an extra incentive to get out and run at least.

GoldenSnitch · 29/03/2010 22:01

Oh crap. Catherine's been grotty all morning but had no temperature so I put it down to one of those things and took her for her jabs anyway.

Just had a text from a friend who's house we were at yesterday for a party after her DD's Christening to say one of the little boys there has Chicken Pox!

She asked about recent illnesses before we had the jabs as I guess there could be a strange reaction to the vaccinations if they're ill.

I quite fancy DS getting it over and done with but now would be a really bad time for Catherine to get Chicken Pox!!

LaDiDaDi · 29/03/2010 23:13

GS, dd had the pox recently but ds escaped other than 5 spots, not unwell in himself at all. Hopefully bf will pass on your antibodies and Catherine will be ok .

Hi girls - going to post in another place as well but just wanted to see if anyone had any thoughts - Persephone's 16 week jabs yesterday ( 10 days late) and she was unsettled in the night and had a temp of 39.5 when I went in this morning as she had woken up. She had sort of fallen back to sleep and was maoning a bit . I know that's highish but obv the fever isn't an illness, it's just a sign the body is fighting an infection - in this case the 7 different diseases flying around her body. I have put her in short sleeves and no blanket (the cast makes her overheat anyway) and given her calpol and she has gone back to sleep. Do I need to call the Dr too?

Thanks!

Claire236 · 30/03/2010 08:58

Think I'd keep an eye on her & if her temp is still high when she wakes up maybe give the dr a ring.

hendo77 · 30/03/2010 09:05

I would ring our GPs surgery and see what they say - they will probably say give Calpol and keep an eye on her and if still raised in a certain amount of time then to do something. I always find our Drs there very reassuring on the phone whenever I've rung them though previously so that may be why!

GoldenSnitch · 30/03/2010 09:13

I think I'd ring him at the very least just for a professional opinion. Better to be safe than sorry.

It probably is just a reaction to the jabs. Her poor little body has been through so much recently, they might just be hitting her hard.

Can't hurt to have her checked over.

Hope she's better soon.

Kingsroadie · 30/03/2010 09:29

Aw thank you guys! Have rung and no one around at moment but can ring back later - I expect they'll say the same. Her temp went down v quickly since the calpol and she is squeaking away like a baby seal again and smiling and chewing her toy so I think she must be feeling better - she was so hot this monrning and the moaning just shocked me a bit I think. I am going to cancel plans and stay in today and just keep an eye on her and her temp and just keep dosing her with calpol.

Really nice to hear from everyone though - just for a bit of reassurance! Thanks a lot .

Hope everyone else is okay today?
