Posted too early AGAIN. I should see a doctor about that

Ekka - Hope you get to have your party, but if not at least your house is now immaculate!

CSWS - I hope you get through to someone and get an answer straight away. Nothing worse than being fobbed off.

Aubergenie - M has developed a new scavenging habit. She won't eat her food on her own plate but instead wants food from everyone else.

Star - That's very sad. It must make lots of things very difficult for you. No wonder you're so fearful of having a smear. Have you talked to a counsellor about it or would that be traumatic in itself?

OP posts:
StarExpat · 18/12/2009 12:30

I have talked to a counsellor about this. Just not much she can do...
DH is the only person I've ever been intimate with. I'd stop previous boyfriends when it got too much and they'd end up breaking up with me b/c of no sex.

Put the elasticated bottom over the wellies, myjob . I also made sure Q's were going nowhere by putting hair elastics over the snowpants and the wellies! (not tiny ones that would cut off circ... just ones to hold the snowpants over the wellies iyswim.

50ftChristmasTree · 18/12/2009 12:53

Star. Maybe you need to speak to someone with particular expertise in that area. I'm sure it would greatly improve your life to be at peace with your lady parts.

I am going to upload my pictures of the snow in a while. It's been so much fun. M ate a snow ball but was generally fairly underwhelmed.

50ftChristmasTree · 18/12/2009 12:55

Oh and yes thank you Myjob. I am feeling much better but still not 100%. The 1.5 hour walk in the snow probably didn't help much.

Myjob - A quick hint, while it is so icy cold, do NOT chew very minty chewing gum whilst running. I used to chew to help me focus on running and on one occasion is was so cold that the peppermint in my gum meant it was sooooo painful to breathe. I felt like crying. Sounds pathetic but seriously it hurts!

Oh my, too much to catch up on! Mooncups, fanjos and cars and the rest!

I am at work trying to fill in a form and it keeps losing the info so I have given up and will have to wait til next week! Its all to do with someone driving into me on weds whilst taking a patient out in my car, I now have a squished car that has gone off to be fixed!

P is doing well, not stop babbling and following me everywhere, hates being in the pushchair now and 'throws her toys out the pram' when in there! ahhhh!

I am thinking about the moon cup again, forgot about it until you all mentioned it, I am a heavy period person and wondered about it over filing! [eek] also worried about getting it out and dropping it or it catapulting across a public loo

Right have to go as need to go home soon.

Myjob - You'd be surprised how far you can run when you've been doing it for a while. I used to run 6 miles three times a week when I was young (only three years younger than you are now) free and had no children! It took a while to get there but after a while it wasn't too much of a struggle. Before I got swept off my feet by DH I had got to the point where I had started to add a three hour gym session on the end twice a week. Nowadays I feel tired just thinking about the amount of exercise I used to do. You can get there and you'll be surprised how quickly! Do try and supplement your running with some yoga, pilates or weight bearing exercise as it helps to build muscle and tones you up (& helps you burn more calories so you can eat more too ).

Just re-read that , I wasn't boasting. I was pointing out that if I can do all that, you certainly can!

Pistachio - Yes I probably did get obsessed. I spent 15 hours a week in the gym on top of the running in addition to having a full time job. I got very skinny and looked like this only not orange! Luckily I don't have the time or the inclination to get that stupid again. It was classic replacement for other food/body obsessions.

Myjob - Give it time, be patient and stop weighing yourself so often. [hypocrite] Judge yourself by how your clothes feel and give your body a chance. The combination of body conditioning and fat burning exercise will improve your body. And yes it is very easy to become addicted, for three reasons a) you feel fab after a work out, b) you can see the changes in your body (eventually you will) and c) it lets you eat more without getting porky! Be careful you don't want to look like this

Just trying to scare you Myjob. Please give yourself some time. You're so impatient! Your body needs time to start burning fat, it doesn't happen instantly it is a ongoing process.

StarExpat · 18/12/2009 19:32

I find that I easily gain or lose 5-8 lbs every so often over past year... I have no idea why. I'm wondering if I have a thyroid problem? How would one know? Anyone on here have thyroid issues?
Sometimes I feel really, really thin and other times I feel chubby and flabby! Sometimes I feel like I can wear anything in my closet and feel confident all day, other times I feel like I don't have enough baggy cardigans to cover up my fat! It's quite fluctuant and I really don't vary what I'm eating in a pattern like that, either.. it makes no sense. I just want to stop the fat periods of time!

50ftChristmasTree · 18/12/2009 19:47

Star - Trying to keep your weight absolutely stable is impossible. Your weight naturally fluctuates over the month and it is most sensible to try and maintain your weight within a 5-7lb range. Your weight can change as much as 3/5lbs in a day depending on when you weigh yourself. When I was a teenager I used to gain about 10lbs before my period despite no increase in my food intake. It was just terrible water retention. I was skinny as a rake so it really noticed. My stomach would be bloated and round, plus I would go up a whole bra size! Don't worry, you're a perfectly normal woman.
